Hey! How are you?

Great balls of fire, I’ve had a hectic past few days!

So I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday, finally. All four of them were impacted and I wanted them out, as my health and life could suffer if I kept them in there.

So I slept a lot yesterday after the procedure, as I wanted my body to repair my jaws so I thought: hey, since the surgery site is fresh, why not sleep as your body speeds up physical repair during sleep?

So then I ate dinner and decided to listen to the whole Time album from ELO.

Then, I went to sleep and woke up and ate breakfast, but then decided to rest again this morning. Decided to get up and had lunch, and took some painkillers so my aching jaws didn’t make me feel like a zombie. So now I’m here! Feeling less pain and more hope in life!

Personally, I’m not really into their fashion aesthetic, if that makes sense? My favorite band aesthetics are long, flowing hair, shiny, flashy outfits (very glam and disco ones specifically) and platform boots, both flat and heeled ones, heavy makeup, and a looot of glitter.

However, I do like that one guy’s orange shirt lol

But yeah, they’re chill! I’m just neutral to them and I just don’t have much to say about them

ELO AUTOCORRECT SENTENCES:

Jeff Lynne was the first person that came out of the game to win a championship in the first year. (not that weird but okay)

Bev Bevan was a great actor for the movie and he has done many great things in his life. (Wholesome I guess? Still pretty normal even if it’s historically inaccurate to the real Bev as he was a drummer, not an actor)

Kelly Groucutt is the only person that can make me believe that the world has changed since I started watching football. (Wh-??? Okay now we’re getting into the weird stuff)

Richard Tandy has a lot of potential but he doesn’t seem like a good fit for this position and I think he is going down with the team in the future. (Now that’s just mean…)

Mik Kaminski as a young man who was a member of the New York Band in Chicago who played the guitar and the piano in the background for the band and then the band played in a concert with the band’s first album. (Uhhh… good for him?)

Hugh McDowell has been on my radar since he got his first job in college and I think he’s going to make the most money in his life. (Ooo, drama~)

Melvyn Gale was the only person that I knew who could get me to go to the gym with a mask and I got to be in my room with my friends. (Wow. Going to a masquerade ball with Melvyn Gale at the gym. How beautiful is that?)

YES!!! That’s Hugh Alexander McDowell HIMSELF!!! Hughie—Mr. Night—The Purple Man, if you will…

It was shocking of me to discover that in the late summer of 2023–but I knew that I wanted one to add to my classic rock merch collection. So I did—he now joins my other ELO pins, Bowie merch, and Queen merch!!!

ugh I am SO tempted to buy more fan merch for prog rock bands for my jacket lol. But I already have a small collection of things. And I certainly don’t wanna collect too many pins… already have a couple

So I got these five button pins off of eBay—one featuring the spaceship, another featuring the band as they appeared in 1974 in color, another of the band from the same year but in black and white, a black one with the name of the band written in gold cursive letters, an another one similar to the one previously mentioned but in white. They are super cute and pretty, and I am so glad that ELO at least had some button pins made of them. Even though I prefer enamels—I’ve always wanted button pins for something, and I’m glad that I have obtained some.

And then I got an enamel pin of the man himself, Hugh McDowell 😭😭😭 and it is so beautiful and shiny and there is nothing wrong it with, condition-wise. My main gripe with it is that they made his goatee into an actual beard, but I can accept that honestly, because it’s a HUGHIE PIN!!! So the Hard Rock Cafe made a series of pins of famous singers through out the 70s and 80s era. AND HUGHIE WAS INCLUDED!!! I’m just so happy this exists—
