Consider:

Hermitcraft False is an eagle avian. She’s got the wings, the sight, the instinct and skill to kill prey, all of it. Her fingers sharpen to talon like claws. But she can, generally, control her instinct to kill, at least other players. There’s enough rabbits and parrots around the server to keep her away from people and pets.

Empires False is not an eagle. She feels the phantom pull of wings on her shoulder blades, but there are none there. She stays up late building her mechanical wings because she needs to replace something she doesn’t even remember should be there. Her eyes are not as sharp as she knows they should be. But that kill instinct? It’s still there. Her only gift as an imperfect copy (she does not know she is a copy at all. She does not know how she got here). She dreams of soaring, of swooping down and grabbing small animals, tearing them apart with talons she does not have. She kills a rabbit with a bow and arrow just to satisfy the urge and it doesn’t feel nearly as good as it does in her dreams. She does not want to be violent and she knows instinctually that she is.

And then E!False meets H!False. And her wings, her beautiful strong wings. Her eyes that focus on something a mile away that E!False can only barely strain to see. Her sharp talons that are somehow not stained with blood the way E!False knows her own hands are.

When she kills her, she cuts her wings off, displays them right next to her head. She wishes it was permanent, that the other (beautiful, better, more perfect) version of her didn’t get to just respawn and go home. But she can at least look at what was meant to be hers.
