I gave a brief pause before explaining

I want it to swallow me whole

let the wind and the waves take me home

consume me from fingertips to toes

till I turn into little particles of light reflecting in the water

and finally settle upon the ocean floor

When the sun is high. 

And a smile will boom on my face 

Just as warm and blinding. 

And when we meet in a week.

I might shed a tear.

But it is not for sorrow.

Because finally you are here.

a word so many strive to hear

connected with their name

a quality held more

with beds and chairs

a luxury few can claim

But what is it exactly

that creates that subtle feeling?

Is it the knowledge that you're loved

wanted?

Is it the reeling back from life

enchanted?

Is it a state of mind?

A person?

A place?

A time?

Is it an idea 

you must replace to find?

you find

the more you think about it

the harder

it is to feel

the thing that makes it

oh so real

is when reality

stops it's sink

comfort can be anything

a film

a song

the simple melody

the ringing of a gong

Who am I to say?

I hope in others

I inspire

That warm and simple belief

that although the world feels

like a crackling fire 

if you stop

and put your feet up

You might just find relief
