Pairing:Steve Rogers X Reader

Summery: What if during a mission Steve ends up dying? And you can't stop it.

Warnings: Tears, yelling. Sadness.

"Rogers where are you?" You yelled as you ducked a punch from someone. "Really? Come on" You kick the person then it's lights out for him.

"Y/n calm down i'm not to far from you"

You turn and see him wave. You scoff. "Hey golden boy!" he smiles. "Meet ya back at the tower" he said through his ear piece.

You nod. "oh are we racing?" He smiles. "Not this time"

You smile as you turn around. You and Steve have been dating for two years you met when you joined the team and Steve honestly didn't like you at first but then you knew it was just him being like a friend who would protect you.

During missions he would always say. "Better not get killed y/n" You would always wink saying. "Right back at ya!

Tony and Nat were teasing both of you about you falling for Rogers, even before you thought you were you always said "nope he's not my type"

You had a type? hmm yes you did. You liked Steve but..he always made you feel like he was your brother and then on new years eve of 2022 he kissed you, God you loved his kisses now and it was like a drug to you. All though you two never had sex just cuddling you two loved each other very much.

You were walking into the quinnjet when you hear Tony say. "Rogers down Rogers DOWN!" You turn and rush out of the jet so that you felt like you were walking on air.

You turn to see him laying on the ground. "STEVE!?" You rush to his side. "No no please God. Hey Steve stay with me" You look at Tony. "Where is the Ambulance?"

Tony said. "it's no use y/n he's not going to-"

You look at Steve when he turns you eyes to him. "Hey pretty girl, I'll be okay don't you...*Hiss* Worry about me ok? I'll be just fine"

You shake your head. "Steve your hurt....we have to get you better." He smiles. "My beautiful Y/n you know....I was...planning on...asking you something..." He said as the pain got worse. "Steve please don't say this"

"I love you y/n..." You blink as the tears fall down your cheeks. "Steve please don't leave me....I can't breathe without you near me...hang on please just...a bit longer"

He smiles. "Promise me something" You nod. "yes anything please just keep talking to me" You said touching his cheek.

"Promise me you'll look after the team..." You knew what he was saying. "Y/n i'm dying please" You thought and then knew what if you didn't promise him? would he live?

"I....I can't do that Steve I just can't" He places your hand on his chest. "Y/n..pl..please"

You let the tears flow more. "I won't Steve" Tony says. "Just do it y/n" You turn and say to Tony. "If I do then he fucking dies! I can't lose him!"

You look at Steve. "y/n..." You groan. "Fine I promise..." With those worlds he smiles. "I love--"

"no, no, no.. no don't. don't l-leave me alone, [name]. I can't br-breathe…" You start crying on him. "please come back to me"

Tony wipes away a few tears and says. "y/n we have to go" You place steve's hand to your chest. "Steve.......Steve!?!?" You beg and plead for him to wake up until Tony drags you away to the jet.

You sat there by the window with your eyes red and puffy from the tears you shed over Steve. That man wasn't just Captain America, He was your whole world.

You felt your blood pumping faster in your heart, even though they are words on a movie you two are in he still sounded like he meant them with his whole being.
