I love this. It implies that he's following in his own father's footsteps, and hadn't really thought about breaking from it until now - and that he just realized that his son's defiance actually makes him stronger and more courageous than him, not more cowardly.

It’s fascinating that Mari has now protected four (4) Questionable Adults™ in canon, but only because she’s trying so hard to do what’s best for her loved ones. There’s Gabriel of course, whose memory she’s trying to keep untarnished, and Nathalie, who she sees as the natural substitute parental figure for Adrien; but there’s also Tomoe (“I don’t want to hurt you” while talking to Kagami) and now Raúl, who did very little to show he was genuinely willing to change. In an episode that gave us the Cursed Cowboy Hat as a Lucky Charm.

It’s completely natural for someone who has, by all accounts, absolutely lovely parents to not fully understand the implications of growing up in a toxic household, even after having it explained via a weird minimalistic play; but I also think it’s directly linked to the loss of her mentor. Mari’s been through so much at only 14/15, without proper guidance from an adult, and you can see how much she’s starving for it in her interactions with Nathalie… She’s trying to give her friends and boyfriend what she needs, and causing harm in the process. What a fantastic character! ❤️🐞

no marinette you might have been upset when he started running in silence next to that really cool girl at school but wait till you find out there’s this OTHER GIRL who he picks up in bridal carries every other day, who calls him PET NAMES, by the way. and touches his shoulder. and chest. gives him sweet words of encouragement. kisses him on the cheek from time to time. on the lips too but to be fair mostly in their dreams—no you may not ask the context—yes he has a questionably romantic nickname for her as well. yes he has also kissed her on the cheek. I KNOW. he’s also put his arm around her waist several times and her shoulder too!! because they went to watch the movies together. I KNOWWWW. and yknow what else!! he used to be in love with her for almost a year!! no they never dated. yes i agree that is worse somehow. also it might have been even more than a year, bro was stuck in a time loop once and could have left at any time but stayed put for several months because she kept dying and he wanted to save her no matter what. yes very similarly to that time where—oh. sorry. yeah, you figured it out. yeah you’re—yeah, he’s also—yup. my bad. calling bunnix now

yknow I really love that the whole point of the episode was breaking free, standing up, fighting back — and then it all ends on a line of complete obedience. all of those lessons and heartfelt moments and rising up and such, only to end with “yes, father.”

the symbolism of Nathalie having her hair in a bun again while talking to the council... she was seemingly finally able to regain control over her life after Gabriel's death only for it to be revealed that she is under the yoke of a much greater, more threatening and controlling threat and has been ever since her birth

Okay like. How did nobody every tell me the there is a BARRIER around the Eiffel Tower you can’t just walk up to it/under…. LIKE. According to my googling there’s been. A fence since 2016 and a bullet proof glass perimeter since 2018 (I believe? Too lazy to google again). So TO BE FAIR it wasn’t there i guess when ml first started?? And miraculously ladybug doesn’t depict the most accurate Paris to begin with. I get that.

But like. WHERE ARE THE CRACK FICS? The “we agreed to meet at the Eiffel Tower after defeating hawkmoth but shit now our kwamis have gone dormant so we need to get in the old fashioned way.
