One thing anyone into Life Is Strange has to acknowledge is that Chloe kinda sucks. She's terribly adjusted, mean and lashes out often when she doesn't need to. She's cringey in her idea of cool and silly to the end beneath it all. And Max loves her anyway. Max sees the worth in her rebellious grandeur, sees the beauty in her off-punk aesthetic. Max sees the hurt beneath it all, the pain that fuels her anger. Max sees it all. And through her eyes we see it too. We see this rage filled teen dropout in her moments of hope, of grief, of joy, of desolation. We see all of her, every side, every point, every life, every possibility, every timeline. All because Max thought her worth saving. All because Max loved her enough to bend the rules of time itself to save her. Over and over again. And she was right for it

rewatching the episode, this music plays faintly when charlie is carrying panda on his back.

i love all the insane (positive) tidbits about tabes scattered throughout the show. i really wish we could’ve seen her more

I remembered how much I love Dana Tabes so I am going to give some appreciation to her. I think Citizen Tabes is the best Ranger Tabes episode with her character as the focus. Poppy Rangers, Creature Mysteries and Rescue Ranger are the strongest Ranger Tabes episodes with her as a co-lead or side.  

Lunch with Tabes was also pretty fun episode I enjoy rewatching but, it was more focused on the Bears goofs more than her as well.  That’s fine because she is a side character but, I just would’ve loved to learn more about her in some episodes!! She’s super cool.

They really gave us the Poppy Rangers (a group of cool intelligent little girls who love wildlife and sciences) and didn’t have Chloe interact with them at all. I would have loved to see Chloe interact with Ranger Tabes at least... Tabes would be so quick to accept her with open arms. Do her absolute best to make her feel welcome. Maybe her spirit would kind of scare Chloe into her shell a little but, she’ll figure out how to adjust. Tabes just seems like the type to love helping others in a mentor kind of way— It’s why she’s a proud troop leader!

Chloe is reserved and used to feeling/being left out in social settings (as a child prodigy in a college space among other things). So, I could see how she doesn’t quite know how to facilitate socializing on her own without a reason or space to do so. I think the Poppy Rangers really could be a good experience for her though.

Let Chloe loosen up a little and have fun with her interests in Biology! Let her learn how to open up to the idea of befriending other kids instead of assuming she cannot relate to them inherently. Several of the Poppy Rangers are interested in STEM! They are interested in animals and bacteria and stalagmites. They like playing teamwork games like charades and pictionary! Flying kites! They all know Grizz already! (In my idea I think Grizz is the one to encourage Chloe to meet Tabes because he raves to her about his adventures with the Poppy Rangers. Maybe he brings Chloe along sometime!)

I feel like Chloe’s interests and personality could mesh really well if she allowed herself to step out of her comfort zone and gave the other girls a chance. There’s potential here.
