Me before watching Neo TWEWY: Rindo and Shoka could be cute I suppose but I will reserve judgement until I actually see the story-

Me after finishing: They're getting married. They are going to get married and have 3 kids and a dog and a cat and take strolls together in the evening and cuddle under blankets on cold nights-

HI it's time for random headcanons with Jazz I'm going to put down who I think the TWEWY characters would main in Mario Party:

Neku: Luigi (he absolutely argues about which Mario brother is cooler, don't @ me)

Shiki: Princess Peach

Rhyme: Yoshi

Josh: Waluigi

Beat: Donkey Kong

Rindo: Mario (he's a basic boi but it's okay we love him anyway)

Fret: Luigi (definitely teams up with Neku to tease Rindo about picking the "inferior" Mario brother)

Nagi: Toad

Shoka: Daisy

Tsugumi: Toadette

Really minor spoilers for both NTWEWY & TWEWY that really doesn't warrant a spoiler tag but:

One thing I really appreciate in both TWEWY & NTWEWY is that they don't force the main pair (that is to say, Neshiki & Rinshoka).

Like it's clear that they are meant to be the main pair but it's not done in such an overtly romantic way. I mean it's still obviously romantic (even moreso in Rinshokas case) but I mean in the "they are deeply in love already and either are or will be dating by the end" way.

Nothing wrong with that kinda romance necessarily but it can seem too fast depending on the situation the characters are in.

In TWEWY & NTWEWY it would be way too fast to have them be explicitly dating by the end since it takes place over a month in a situation where love isn't exactly on your mind. So it makes sense they'd wait until it's over to really start considering the dating aspect of it.

(And in Neshikis case, Shiki isn't even present for most of it)

Idk that kinda writing makes it seem more like a natural progession then just romance for the sake of romance.

I don't think I'd like Neshiki or Rinshoka as much if they ended up dating during the games events.

(Especially for TWEWY, theres no way Neku's ready to date so soon after all that and I doubt Shiki is too)

alright spoilers ahead:

so. coco is a lot more tolerable now (i couldn't STAND her text speak but she doesn't do that anymore HOORAY). still not anywhere near a favorite, but i can handle her now.

also, while i still think A New Day was sequel bait, this game got wrapped up in a satisfying way that i'm okay with accepting its existence now. i was really scared and nervous, but i had no reason to be. they did good.

neku got a happy ending, FINALLY. hallelujah. i got a little choked up when shiki started crying seeing him again and he just smiled. he's mellowed out and matured so MUCH, neku is worlds apart from how he used to be when he was 15 and it's amazing just how much he's grown as a person. im so freaking proud of him.

beat got such a glow up oh my god. they did him so good and him being like rindo and co's mentor was a dynamic i never knew i needed, but i'm very glad we got!! he and fret are so CUTE they're my brotp

let's be real everybody in the og cast got a glow up (and they already looked good before!), that's so cool. .shiki is so freaking cute holy moly. i love her design. her glasses, the sweater, the mr. mew handbag... everything.

what also tickled me is apparently younger neku called mr. mew a pig so much now BEAT calls him one and shoka just "he's a CAT" HAHAHAHA

neku has finally acknowledged that mr. mew is a kitty too. . .

smth so funny to me is josh looks older too but sounds exactly the same, probably to hammer in the fact that he's merely changing his physical appearance instead of actually aging. that was a good touch, i liked that. he's still just as much of a bastard as ever but he wouldn't be josh if he wasn't.

fanGO sounds like such a cute game, on a tangent. i want to design some of the creatures..

ohhhh my god okay

so i watched a playthrough of neo twewy and im not spoiling anything but rindo and shoka are actually so cute, whether as a platonic pairing or romantic imho

they're like nekushiki all over again for me (nekushiki will always be the og twewy otp, but rinshoka is really really good), except rinshoka feels like a much slower burn.

also neo twewy got me in da feels with the found family. .i love all these kids. they're so cute. this was a really good game.
