The main problem of my thesis was tackling one of the Philippines’ problems today. It is the failure of preserving our ancestor's national heritages due to the fast phase modernization of our country.
One of my study’s solution is by preserving a 200-year-old station that is currently endangered to be demolished by our government’s project of the elevated train railways that will connect some provinces in the Philippines.
But, this station played an important role in the country’s history. Due to the lack of information on the importance of this heritage, the government and the residents of the city is blinded to preserve the said station.
Hence, this study. The study contains more information about Barasoain Old PNR Malolos Station, surveys of the residents in Malolos about their insights regarding the station and interviews with some important people in Malolos including current mayor Att., Christian Natividad.
This study was made as a requirement for my thesis as a Landscape Architect undergraduate. To serve as an eye opener to my fellow students, residents and maybe to the Philippines’ government.
