knives out
at the costume party, chatting it up with @cwnheon
hyunsu recognized her from somewhere; he just couldn’t seem to put his finger on it. was she an ex-fling? someone that he pushed the buttons of for fun? her name was on the tip of his tongue, but for some reason he could not think of her name for the life of him. of course, it didn’t help that he was a few shots in and the loud bass ringing in his ears also made it hard to focus. damn. what a shame. there was no way he was going to solve the mystery, especially not at a party like this.
oh well! hyunsu was sure that he couldn’t remember the girl for a reason. if he truly forgot her, then perhaps she was simply not that relevant to begin with. he was too drunk to care about some random lady, so it was best to just forget about it. but wait— was she looking this way? he couldn’t quite tell, nor did he want to find out.
oh god, this was embarrassing. hyunsu stood there staring at her for a hot minute. did she really catch him in the act?
it was too late to pretend like his eyes weren’t just glued to her face, but that didn’t mean he cared enough to not still try. almost instantly, the prince turned his back and prayed that maybe just maybe this lady would just leave him alone. that was the least she could do, right? spare his pride and just walk away!

gremlins
nearby the diamond palace with @daulcwn ( tw: marijuana use )
hyunsu made a mistake— a big mistake. yes, it was hyunsu who agreed to buying edibles to kick off his week of fun festivities in style. and yes, it was hyunsu who convinced his dear friend, daul, to partake in his trip to party town. still, this was a terrible mistake.
the brownie wasn’t supposed to hit that hard. as a matter of fact, the prince was so sure he would not lose the battle with this delectable treat that he promised daul they could mosey into town just fine. but here he was, eyelids slowly closing on him as he struggled to keep his composure, standing in a crowd of people with zero thoughts in his mind.
he shouldn’t have consumed the full thing, but it was too late to turn back now.
while hyunsu was fighting a war with himself in his mind, he couldn’t help but listen to what was really calling out for his attention, his stomach. perhaps leaving the palace was the first mistake the two made because, if they were back at the palace, hyunsu was sure they could convince someone to whip them up something good. but no, the prince just had to have the bright idea of sneaking off. he couldn’t put his finger on what exactly he was craving; however, the smell of— whatever was permeating in the air— was making hyunsu’s stomach growl grow in volume.
oh man, whatever that was hyunsu wanted to get his grubby hands on it.
what did that sign say? an eating contest? did that mean free food? hyunsu was already envisioning it in his mind. the two get to eat a fuck ton of steaming, hot food, and then boom— they win and don’t have to pay. what did they have to lose? besides, with the way hyunsu’s stomach was begging him for crumbs, there was no way this plan was going to fail. “hey man, i don’t know about you, but i’m in the mood for some free food.” he nudged his friend and motioned to the sign, “what do you say?”

hi friends! i know i have a lot of replies to get to, but i’m too excited for this halloween event and want threads badly! whether we have threaded or not, if you’d like to have a thread with hyunsu for the event please interact with this post! i’ve already conjured up ( ha...conjured ) some plot ideas down below, but i’m also okay with coming up with something together ( i’ll dm you on twt or discord )! regardless, i hope everyone is staying safe!
FALL HARVEST
hush: it seems as though hyunsu is trying his hardest to craft a little trinket for himself to get into the halloween spirit. does he believe it protects him from positive energy? not really. he might be able to test the theory out if he could just craft it right, though he can barely read the instructions when someone is sitting next to him talking his ear off. “excuse me? is there a recipe you can give me that can make them shut up?”
gremlins (tw: cannabis use): before running into town late at night, hyunsu had convinced your muse to take edibles with him. “take the whole thing!” he said, “it’s not going to hit that hard!” now here they were, lost in the traffic of the town and very, very hungry. and how does hyunsu plan on saving them from their grumbling stomachs? “hey, do you think we have to pay for the food if we enter the eating contest?”
ouija: hyunsu was skeptical of the whole fortune telling thing. there was no way a few cards and a handful of crystals could tell foresee his future, right? for that reason, he refused to go; however, when your muse brings up stories of other people’s fortunes coming true, hyunsu begins to second guess his skeptical outlook on the practice. there was only one way to find out if the whole thing was a scam or not-- by getting his own cards read.
MASQUERADE
mimic: all the politics that came with such events really kept hyunsu on his toes. your muse is so used to seeing the prince make a fool of himself with his loud mouth, yet here they see him in a different perspective. quiet, well-composed, and respectful . . . was this really the hyunsu they knew? ( ** prior connection required; your muse can choose to either push his buttons or relish in this ‘new’ version of him )
polaroid: take a picture, it’ll last longer! hyunsu caught your muse in a bad time ( maybe they spilled sauce on their outfit? or perhaps they made a weird face? ), and he just so happened to be able to snap a photo with his phone. he wasn’t slick! your muse heard the camera shutter! now instead of enjoying the masquerade, your muse is stuck trying to cut deals with the devil himself.
COSTUME PARTY
knives out: hyunsu can feel your muse catching onto who is behind such a innocent mask and angelic wings, yet he refuses to let them get the satisfaction of knowing. whether the two have met before, or they’ve only seen each other in passing, hyunsu is getting weird vibes from them. and, with the prince having a little too much to drink, it was hard to even get a proper answer out of him. the two were playing one big game of guess who— except— how do they know if what he says is the truth?
scream ( nsfw...? ): your muse catches themselves within arms reach of the devil an angel, but it’s too late to run. his aura alone is enticing enough to rope them in, and now? they were stuck dancing with him. they knew who he was, none other than the clover prince himself. there was no amount of makeup or costume design that could mask his large ego; however, this party was meant to keep all names strictly anonymous, and there was no way your muse would risk getting kicked out over hyunsu. the two play along, both knowing each other’s identity. though, enjoying the prince’s company was getting rather hard. between the lust filled dance moves and antagonizing remarks, all your muse wanted to do was. . .
tba. open to suggestions.

escape the night
YUNSEO:
working was yunseo’s pride and joy. it really and truly was. but, it was a little disheartening to be placed on security outside the palace. luckily, he was at the very least standing guard in the garden, which helped his loneliness. the autumn blooms were gorgeous as they slowly withered.
everything seemed like a storybook, this time of year. though not inside, yunseo was dressed for the party. an ornate mask was dawned over his eyes, blues and silvers littering it. it complimented his guard uniform, as he had to stay dressed in his spade’s costume rather than dawn one for the party.
it was one of those nights that made him long for being royalty, or a noble. to be inside, dancing—dancing with hyunsu, is what he is day dreaming of at this moment, as he can hear the music protrude from outside of the castle. but, a noble or prince he is not; and it wasn’t his place to yearn for his hands around a prince. especially one of another kingdom. especially not after he has had bad experiences with others in the past. it was all around a bad thing to be fantasizing about.
part of his duties on guard did thankfully mean routinely checking the grounds he was assigned, so he was able to stroll through the garden. it was a beautiful night despite the chill, and clearing his head was very needed if he was going to focus on his job.
that idea was short-lived, however.
yunseo admittedly almost jumps out of skin, and is reaching for his weapon without a second thought—but there is that voice, the very one that when whispering this close to his ear, well it sends a shiver down his body.
“prince han,” he forces himself to scold, turning around to face him with a serious demeanor. “that was so—i could have hurt you, assuming you were someone dangerous.” he shakes his head, but all thoughts of focusing on work and not  thinking of this pretty face are out the window. a hand of yunseo’s quickly finds itself on the cheek of the other. “you look so handsome tonight,  prince.”
truthfully, if hyunsu were to be killed by the knight, would he even be upset? he wasn’t so sure that he would be. to die at the hands of someone so beautiful would be the best way for the prince to go out. though unfortunately, but fortunately, for him tonight was not the night for that.
although, it did warm hyunsu’s heart to know that the knight cared for him. for someone to find the prince appealing to the eyes was one thing. everywhere he went he felt eyes glued to him, starstruck by hyunsu’s angelic physique. but for someone to genuinely care for his well-being? this was different. it felt. . . alarming? even if he was adored by many, the admiration towards the prince left as soon as he opened his mouth, and ultimately, he was left alone. the feeling of being lonely in a sea full of fish became a comfortable pain, and for someone to begin to actually show compassion towards him felt like the walls he built were finally crashing down.
hyunsu loved to have control over everything in his life, but this was something out of his control. and he wasn’t too sure whether he was ready to run or dive in headfirst.
snap out of it, hyunsu! did he really care? or was it just his job to care? he was a fool for thinking that the words held any meaning other than a simple scolding.
“you could have, but you didn’t.” hyunsu cupped his chin, as he teased yunseo “you saved me, my sweet knight! i’m so lucky to have been spared by someone so charming.” before he could tease the knight any further, his heart sank deeper into his chest. ah, there it was, the affection he was craving. how could hyunsu run from his fears when the boy causing them reeled him in closer every time? the sweet touch from his soft hands and a gentle voice giving him praise was the exact recipe for hyunsu’s demise. perhaps the knight could not kill him with a physical weapon, but he was surely killing him with puppy love.
“why thank you.” hyunsu paused, his thumb caressing the knight’s cheek, “tell me. why do they have such a good-looking knight standing guard outside tonight? a beautiful knight like you should be inside where you can be admired by many.” quickly, he dropped a hand to reach for yunseo’s, intertwining their fingers. hyunsu then began to walk in an attempt to pull the knight from his post. “why don’t you accompany me tonight? it seems as though i have lost my own knight, and a guest of the kingdom of spades should not be left unattended. don’t you agree?”

escape the night
searching for @cwnyunseo in the garden
if there was one person hyunsu wished to dance with it was yunseo. surely the masquerade was fun without the lovely knight— as fun as it could be without him by hyunsu’s side. the prince wasn’t into such events. no matter how much the kingdoms embellished the balls with promises of pretty people dressed in couture and several glasses of wine, hyunsu saw it as it was: an excuse to talk politics. the mask he wore was no match for the curious eyes of the attendees. every time he went to ask someone for a dance he was bombarded with questions about his status and kingdom. he wasn’t even safe by the sidelines, where he could enjoy a nice selection of hors d'oeuvres, because they’d come running to poke and prod the prince until they gave him answers.
hyunsu loved his title, in fact, there wasn’t a time he left it out of a conversation! but this . . . was it really necessary? did they have to make him regret ever mentioning that he was anyone but the man of their dreams? to be honest, hyunsu wasn’t even sure if he even wanted to be associated with them. all he wanted was his knight. where the hell was he?
he had to escape to the garden before it was too late. if one more person marched towards him in order to perform their own interrogation hyunsu might have lost it. a little alone time wouldn’t be so bad— except hyunsu was really wishing that yunseo would pop out from behind him with his usual cheery self. though, wishing on stars was getting the prince nowhere because, no matter how hard he begged the brightest star, the knight was still nowhere in sight. great. now he was bored, lonely, and a little bit chilly. what a perfect night this was. at this point, the prince was ready to be escorted to his temporary room in the palace, but then it happened. he finally appeared.
poor knight. to be outside alone on such a night was a crime in hyunsu’s eyes, and yunseo was the undeserving victim of it. and although this was yunseo’s job, hyunsu just knew he had to step in, for both his and yunseo’s sake. how was he going to tear the morally just knight from his post? well, the first step was getting his attention. carefully, the prince snuck up behind yunseo and blinded the knight with his two hands. “guess who!” hyunsu whispered in his ear, “i’ll give you a hint: it’s your favorite prince.”

hello you lovely people! i’ve come to bug you with a few updates. first things first, i understand hyunsu’s blog is disgusting, so i am temporarily putting only his bio and stats up in the links until i am alive enough to edit his blog again. secondly, i’m sure i’ve introduced myself to the newcomers, but if i haven’t take this as my “i’m sorry i’ll do better” statement. since we have newcomers and a lot of muns with second muses, i’ve come to link hyunsu’s plot page in a post once again. let me know if anyone would like to take up a plot, and if not no worries! lastly, because i’ve been moving between two muses, it’s been hard keeping track of who i owe starters/replies to. hence, i’ve created a thread tracker in order to keep things a bit organized. if you’d like to further plot with me, interact with this post, and i’ll come running to you!

a simple envelope arrives at your room, so nondescript you may wonder if it’s actually meant for you — until you notice your name written on the front in black, cursive letters. there is no sender but the envelope has been closed shut with a wax seal you know to be from @thecrownseer. it seems you have a message of upmost importance… but will you open it?
“[ tw: death ]  it’s well past curfew hours and you’re sneaking through the corridors to secretly meet with someone. on your way to the rendezvous point, you discover a body in the courtyard shrubs while avoiding patrolling knights. do you scream for help and report the body or do you leave the body where it is to avoid suspicions of murder?”
( tw: death )
another letter? hyunsu was beginning to wonder if anyone in the land had SMS or preferred face-to-face conversations anymore. although seeing as the sender was the seer, hyunsu decided that this time he would have to put his grievances aside and respond in a timely manner. and thus, despite already not feeling the whole snail mail interaction, he began to read the prompt and ready his response.
yet, hyunsu wasn’t quite sure he wanted to reply on paper. what kind of sick question was this? did the seer want him to confess his sins on a piece of paper? in all honesty, when it came to morality, hyunsu wasn’t all that terrible. if the scenario happened in a perfect world then of course he’d try and call for help! however, seeing as he barely dodged the bullet on the murder of his ex, he would have to think twice before helping some probably lifeless body.
was it a friend or somebody he knew? did the person deserve to die? more importantly, why were the guards, and why weren’t they doing their job of guarding?
this is a trick question.
in this world, all morals are disregarded. there’s no room to think about the ifs, ands, or buts. times like these make me think of the great biologist, charles darwin, and his concept of natural selection. i don’t by any means want to offend anyone, but in this world no matter how fair and noble you want to be, you must be able to put yourself first.
would anyone help me if i was a lifeless body in a bush? i’m not so sure they would. plus, the heroic act would cause complications on my end. i could be questioned about my after curfew stroll, or i could have the murder pinned on me. the way i see it, i have a eighty percent chance of being scolded for being at the scene of the crime, and i have a twenty percent chance of getting to play hero and being rewarded for it. respectfully, i believe no prince would be able to put themselves in such a position.
i’d also like to address the flaws of the situation, if i may. if our kingdom is to be the best, don’t you think our knights should be at the top of their game? the point of having guards on night watch is to make sure incidents like this don’t happen. if a situation like this were to ever happen in my kingdom, i would only hope that our brave knights would catch the criminal before the incident. otherwise, what is that telling our allies and enemies about our defenses?

SUNWOO:
“being a royal is about hustling, maybe you’re right, but i don’t think we’ll be competing with archery for the thrown,” sunwoo says with a glare. he pushes hyunsu’s arm off his shoulder with a groan. “and books do tell me that seniority doesn’t matter when you’re king.” he sighs, looking at his watch. “what do you wanna eat?” sunwoo hands the bow and arrows off, looking back at hyunsu with a huff.
most of the time, sunwoo is trying not to let his lack of patience show, which can be a struggle around some people, some people especially like hyunsu who live to push his buttons. of course, he’s not claiming to be a nice person, he’d just simply say that he’s great at first impressions and the mask wears thinner more and more you peel back the layers of his intentions and the thoughts he’d never actually say out loud.
“i’m not sure what i’m craving, so you choose,” sunwoo says, still reeling from losing.
“yeah, yeah, and if you become king, i’m sure i’ll get my ass handed to me.” hyunsu snorted, “that’s if you can catch me. perhaps you should improve those archery skills so you have a better shot.” this was all a game to hyunsu. sure, he didn’t despise the prince, but it was sure fun to watch the kid struggle to keep himself composed.
hyunsu was hoping sunwoo would ask for his opinion; he just didn’t want to admit it. with his ego being so inflated by his awesome victory, it was hard to not make things about himself. but what was he craving? hyunsu was unsure of what meal could possibly satisfy him after such a big win. “hm,” the prince pondered, looking off into the distance as if that would help aid his decision making. “i’m thinking. . . a nice, tender filet mignon! yes, a filet mignon with a glass of the palace’s finest wine.”

A SERPENT IN MY SLIPPER.
AHYOUNG:
not only that, but he’s calling her a childish nickname and mocking her while she’s clearly struggling? she was already aware that she looked ridiculous. but the fact that he out of all people was witnessing it right now… clearly, she was cursed the moment she stepped onto the grounds of the clover residence. because now, she has to deal with him when she could be doing something more beneficial to her.
Tumblr media
“swerve to another lane then, dickswab. there’s clearly enough room in this hallway for the both of us,” she says, rolling her eyes at the other as she takes the moment to stop. if she were to keep on walking while keeping her attention on him, she’d probably fall over. “what the hell do you want? are you here to try and make me feel like a baby? because if so, i’d be glad to take off these shoes and try to throw them at you to let you know i don’t have the time.”
oh, the deer came with fighting words. too bad hyunsu didn’t care enough to be hurt by them. what the hell was a dickswab, anyways? hyunsu was positive ahyoung was creating her own words at this point. was it wrong to say he thought it was cute? the poor princess was so flustered by the whole situation that she had to come up with a creative comeback to express her frustrations. hyunsu was more flattered than hurt, really.
“ah, but-- you see.” hyunsu whined, “it’s too distracting to walk in the same halls as you when you just look so helpless. one push and. . .” the prince softly pushed her shoulder, almost as if he was trying to get her to fall on cue. a grin fell upon his face as he playfully continued to ( quite literally ) push ahyoung’s buttons. “are you threatening me right now? i don’t think that’s a good idea, fourth-ranker, especially when i have the upper hand.” poke. poke. poke.
it was hard to contain his laughter at this point! what was the worst that could happen? the princess actually removes her little heels to use as a weapon? please! those baby shoes weren’t going to hurt anyone, hyunsu included.
“what exactly are you so busy with?” hyunsu asked, doing laps around the royal as to tease her. “you don’t look so busy to me.” the prince paused, looking her at her shoes before glancing up at her eyes, “if you were so busy you’d put a pep in your step, so get to it bambi.” with a few more strides he ended up in front of her, a sigh escaping his lips as he clapped his hands out in front of him. “if you’re going to act like a child then i’ll treat you as such.” hyunsu cooed, holding his hands out as if he was there to break her fall, “come here! come on! how cute, it’s like watching you take your first steps.”

CHUL·:
( . . . )
The bartender brings over two tall glasses and slide them over, which Chul doesn’t reject. But as he’s reaching out for his glass, he decided that since Hyunsu was going to be a pest tonight, then he might as well get something good out of it. Before the other Prince could reach for his glass, Chul swiftly grabbed the other glass and chugged it down pettily.
Sighing out loud in satisfaction, he clunks the glass on the counter and then lift his full glass to give Hyunsu a small cheers. And when Hyunsu looks back at him, Chul only grins cockily, “You want this frown upside?” Then he burped and chugged his beer before sighing again, “You got it, but all this?” Chul motions to his charming smile as he waves the bartender back over, “On your tab.”
Tumblr media
this guy was really strange-- really, really strange. hyunsu wasn’t sure why chul would even agree to go out for drinks if he was going to be so uptight, but then again this was a classic chul move. he was usually so tense, for reasons unknown to hyunsu, yet hyunsu felt like this bro night could have helped him unwind. perhaps hyunsu was wrong about chul; maybe the prince really didn’t have a soul.
he couldn’t tell if he spoke too early or too soon. one minute the young prince was happily ordering drinks to celebrate a long day of work, and the next minute he found his glass of beer to be completely empty. part of him wanted to scream and strangle the elder, though he felt like the odds of him winning that fight were zero to none. all he could do was stare in awe as chul went to chug his own beer.
it’s ok, hyunsu. it’s okay. keep calm in the name of friendship.
on the inside hyunsu was imagining himself reaching over and tackling the elder to the ground. he wanted to shake the elder’s shoulders and scream, “can’t you see i’m trying to help you?!” still, hyunsu couldn’t give in to his own emotions. if helping the elder prince meant that he was bound to stay sober with a couple of figures charged to his card, who was he to deny his friend?
"wow, hyung,” hyunsu’s smile was full of pain as he could already feel his wallet screaming for help, “you’re so generous! are you usually like this with all your friends, or do you just love me this much?” there was a part of him still hoping that later in the night chul would get drunk enough where hyunsu could ask the bartender to split the tab. then again, what kind of friend would he be?
so the young prince sighed in defeat, looking up at the bartender before ordering a bottle of soju that he honestly wished he ordered for himself. “alright, fine,” hyunsu snatched the bottle before chul could even think about taking it, “but if it’s on my tab you better drink the fuck up.” he poured two shots, one for chul and one for himself, and picked up the shot glass closest to him to hold out in front of chul. “cheers to our first of many bro nights.”

wildest dreams
YUNSEO·:
surprise comes in the form of seeing the very prince—that he was beginning to think had been a dream, mind you—walking toward him. his actions and words almost melt yunseo’s confusion and frustration away, leaning into the hand on his cheek easily, but with a pink tint coming across his cheeks. “good morning, my prince!” is what comes out of his mouth before anything else, sweet with a hint of excitement at the fact he is real. however, he hasn’t completely forgotten what he found. “i did check on your room.. but it was empty,” he says slowly, trying to use the correct words in this situation. “no one is supposed to be in that room according to my documents…! not even sweet princes like you!”
for a moment hyunsu had forgotten what kingdom he resided in. how could he not with such a handsome knight standing before him? with someone this handsome, it was hard to believe that he could belong to any other kingdom because in that moment it felt as though he was destined to stand by yunseo’s side.
my prince. it was such an endearing way to refer to hyunsu, though part of him felt like he did not deserve it. to be fair, hyunsu was lying to him-- even if it was for good reason. the poor knight didn’t deserve all the white lies, but hyunsu couldn’t help but feel as though it was the only way he’d get to see him again. if he hadn’t snuck in to see the knight then when would the two ever be able to meet again? what would happen if someone else swept the ( rather tall ) knight off his feet before hyunsu could get the chance?
hyunsu couldn’t risk losing someone so hot. he was an ‘i see it, i want it, i got it’ kind of guy, which meant that he simply couldn’t afford to be the knight’s second-best prince. he had to be the first-- the only one on his mind.
“you checked my room?” hyunsu nodded slowly. his eyes trailed off as if he was trying to avoid eye contact due to the guilt that was setting in. “not possible. i think your documents are wrong!”
it was a risky game he was playing here, yet hyunsu continued to take his chances. after all, he was only gaslighting the hot knight from the kingdom he snuck into. what could possibly go wrong?
“i was clearly using the bathroom when you. . .” he paused as his eyes met the sweet knight’s. oh man. how could he ever continue lying to someone with such innocent eyes? no. he had to! hyunsu couldn’t give up now! not when he was already deep into his own lies.
damn, the kingdom of spades was smart in hiring this guy as a knight.
“ok, fine. you caught me.” hyunsu sulked, “please, don’t rat me out or anything. i just wanted to see you again-- i’ll see myself out.” he turned his back to yunseo and took painfully slow strides in the opposite direction, for hyunsu was hoping that the sweet knight would beg for him to stay by his side. dramatic, he was aware, but that was the name of hyunsu’s game. if he couldn’t lie, cheat, or grab what he wanted, the only other option was to cause a scene and hope the other gave in to his antics.
