Open Starter: Theft

(I'd say she's about 11 in this one)

Sophia, or Amaia as she begrudgingly let herself be called, hadn't been at camp for very long, and she was already known for trouble. Ever since she arrived, things had been going missing from the other cabins. Food, trinkets, and a few other things. All of it was kept in a little hoard under her bunk in the Selene cabin. A few hair brushes were stolen from the Aphrodite cabin. A mini bow and quiver was stolen from the forge. Most recently, she had gotten so bold as to steal from the Ares cabin. And they were furious.

One of the Ares kids was holding her up by her collar, yelling rather loudly at her. She kicked and squirmed, trying to escape with all her might. She didn't look to be in the best condition, nor spirits. She looked downright terrified. There was a clear difference in power. A short, tiny 11 year old versus a tall, much bigger teenager. She had stolen a few things from you or your cabin, but it was hard to stay too mad at her about now.

There was a gentle knock on the Aphrodite cabin door after several lomg moments of hesitation. It wasn't like she wouldn't be back soon enough. This was just a temporary leave, as always. "Hey... hey dad?"

Comet opens the door and softens when he hears her “Oh- hey, kiddo! What’s up?”

She barely went away for a few days. She just wanted a break. She loved her friends, but if she had to deal with another near-death experience or someone getting hurt by the gods, she would–

She came back for Almyra's wedding, and she was ready to leave right after that. She needed to leave.

But no one wanted her to leave. As soon as she left, horrible things happened. She needed to be there to care for her little sister. She needed to be there to care for Argo. She couldn't abandon the hunters as she had been to take care of her family. No matter what she did, she was hurting someone.

There was a bottle of wine nearby, beside other liquors. She absolutely despised the stuff, yet a small part of her wondered why her father had always clung to substances like that. Why Commodus seemed so fond of such an evil thing. Did it actually help things? Did it really make people feel better?

Sophia was scared. She was scared of the look and smell of the bottles, which reminded her all too much of the worst parts of her life. She was scared of her mind, which was trying to trick her into thinking it might help. Just as her mind had tricked her into thinking that she deserved to suffer. That she deserved this torment. That she deserved the pain.

She just... stared. She didn't dare to move. Why the hell was she here? When did she get there? Where did the alcohol come from? Was she even in camp?

Sophia walked into the Aphrodite cabin and sat down near Comet's bunk, clearly in a bad mood. She wasn't mad this time. She looked more... sad. Her eyes were almost empty. She wore a nice headscarf that covered all her hair underneath her hood. It was a bit small, so it was probably something she got when she was younger.

Comet doesn’t push, but pats the spot next to him, offering a hug and to listen if she was willing

Gods, what was all the ruckuss about? You could hear a little girl screaming and hollering to be let go as a satyr is finally able to get in camp. She has some decent injuries from whatever monster attacked her on her way, and she looked downright terrified.

She would attack anyone that tried to touch her, and whenever anyone asked her any questions, she would just go quiet and not answer.

"What's your name?" No answer.

"What were you thinking, staying outside without a parent in the city?" No answer.

"Are you okay?" Still no answer.

She looked to be about 11 years old. Her hair was basically matted, and her clothes were tattered and clearly too big for her. When was the last time this poor girl ate?

Comet takes her hand, stopping her from picking at her skin casually, leading her t the cabin

Sophia was fast. Always had to be at least a decent runner, but becoming a hunter of Artemis gave her a power-up of sorts. But against a whole gang of cops with the frigid winter air biting at her lungs? That slowed her down quite a bit. Plus, she had been running for a good few miles against cops in cars and ones on foot, using the traffic in the streets to her advantage. It was only a bit of vandalism, come on!

Her heart was racing. They were beginning to close in on her. There was nowhere to go. One of them tried to hold her down, so of course she fought back. Kicking, hitting, all that jazz. When tazing her once wasn't enough to stop her, they did it again. And again. Her yells of pain could be heard plenty far away. This was such an overreaction on their- "ARGGHHH!" She howled in pain. "LET ME GO YOU- OW!"

Comet comes to see what all the commotion is- the cops are after him too, so he stays hidden on the top of a building

”Sure,” he hums, gently picking her up

Colds sucked. There was no denying that. Turns out, after falling into the lake in the middle of the winter, being a Hunter of Artemis couldn't protect her from catching one. She didn't want to worry Lady Artemis, but Marilene was following her around, fussing over how she should have been more careful. Not that she was being mean about it. She just couldn't stand to see her little sister sick.

"Please, just take some medicine! It will make you feel better, I promise."

Comet was no better. As soon as he heard, he nagged on her to rest and have some orange juice.

"I've managed to get some free time in my schedule, so what would you think if I pulled some strings to get your godly parent a cabin?"

Open starter: tired of this sh-

Sophia had been avoiding everyone as of late. She still went to Molly and Almyra's wedding, and she had a damn good time there, but other than that, she didn't really talk to her friends. Or anyone, for that matter. Sometimes, she had to leave to go on hunting trips with the other hunters of Artemis, but she could have at least said something. Maybe an Iris message if she didn't have the time.

Regardless, you either specifically went looking for her or, for some reason, ended up peeking your head in the Artemis cabin. A few of the other hunters were there, but not many. Thalia, Artemis, and the rest were just about ready to leave. Sophia only really came back to go grab some extra stuff. One of them just decided to stay and wait for Sophia to zip up her backpack. She actually looked pretty happy for once. She didn't seem so stressed about all the big problems she kept having. It was like the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders, allowing for a joyful respite before she would have to pick it back up again. She tried her hardest not to think too hard about the things that she normally worried about. That would spoil the mood. She was going to try her best to savor this.
