My Experience Using CyberGhost VPN
CyberGhost VPN is a popular virtual private network (VPN) service that promises to keep your internet traffic private and secure. I decided to try it out for myself to see if it lives up to the hype. Here's my CyberGhost VPN review based on using it for the past couple months:
Speed & Reliability
One of the most important factors for any VPN is speed. You don't want a VPN that slows down your internet connection to a crawl. I tested CyberGhost on my home WiFi network and was pleasantly surprised. Connecting to a nearby VPN server only reduced my speeds by 15-20% - fast enough for streaming video and music. The connection has been very reliable too - I haven't experienced any unexpected disconnections.
Privacy & Security
CyberGhost uses strong 256-bit AES encryption to keep data secure. It has a strict no-logs policy, meaning no usage or activity logs are kept. The company is based in Romania, which has decent privacy laws. Leak tests showed that CyberGhost successfully hid my IP address and kept my traffic secure.
Ease of Use
The CyberGhost interface is very user-friendly. Apps are available for all major platforms - Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, etc. It's easy to choose a VPN server location or connect with one click. Helpful security features like an internet kill switch, DNS leak protection, and IP anonymization are built-in.
Pricing
CyberGhost costs $12.99/month but you can get it cheaper at $2.25/month if you commit to a longer 3-year plan. There's also a 45-day money back guarantee, which is long enough to test if you like the service. Unlocking additional features like dedicated IPs or simultaneous connections on 10 devices costs extra.
Overall
CyberGhost VPN meets my needs for an affordable and easy-to-use VPN that keeps my browsing secure and private. I haven't had any major issues in the few months I've used it so far. For basic VPN users, I think CyberGhost is a solid choice to consider. But more advanced users may want a VPN with more configuration options.
