apartment complex? uh, yeah, i sure hope it is! (the camera pans over to a real life apartment complex with buildings laid out in geometrically impossible escher-esque formations, stretching into the sky beyond human eyesight and disappearing into mist. the comments on the video are full of people asking where the video was filmed and none are ever replied to)

iâm a Spiral man myself but i need everyone to know that francis bacon is THEEE Flesh Avatar of all time
points:
1. His name is fucking Francis Bacon. Thatâs Already an Excellent Start.
2. His art is all about depictions of human (?) flesh that are, well, like this:

All rent and shapeless and exposed and tortured and pained.
3. He countless times used sides of meat as symbols in his paintings, as omens of death. I think he saw a little of the crucifiction in them, or vice versa.

4. His use of meat in paintings is supported by countless quotes about the idea that people are pre-meat, and about the innate naturalness of violence and violent consumption.

This is all shit a Flesh avatar says, tell me Iâm wrong.
5. His personal life, too, starting in childhood and continuing to his death, was, to keep it on the SFW side as much as possible, dominated by the destruction and the rending of flesh, his own, which he pursued. He would only be in relationships that destroyed him physically, echoing childhood trauma.

âSelf-Portrait with Injured Eyeâ. He went out and got that done, in point of fact.
The fear he captured in his paintings and chased and was dogged by constantly in his life, that feeling he made his art career on: THEEEE Flesh. Mascot. Poster child.
#i donât mind making these analogies for real people only because i find the Avatars as a useful real-life analogy of innate human fears#iâm using that structure as a lens to analyze Bacon and his trauma not the other way around - not using Baconâs trauma to make TMA content#the flesh#gore warning#gore tw#gore cw#meat tw#animal death tw#flesh avatar#avatar of the flesh#tma the flesh#tma#fear entities#abuse tw#that should do it but ask to tag#francis bacon#child abuse tw#unreality#unreality tw#for my blog

âKitsch Kitchenâ designed by British TV personality & designer, Anne McKevittÂ
Not sure what Iâd call the style, itâs like a mix of 1950s-60s kitsch, some Y2K pieces by Inflate & Stefano Giovannoni, and the âWacky PoMoâ aesthetic. Memphis-esque patterns (reminds me of Sottsassâs âBacterioâ). I think Memphis took some inspiration from the kitschy 1950s formica/Googie stuff, so kinda ties together here.
Scanned from âHouse Sensationâ (1998)
