Hi I'm curious how things are going? No pressure obviously but god I'm addicted to your wip lol regardless hope you are doing well
Things are going. This whole year has been filled with health related things and more university stuff. With my grad application stuff done (got in yay!) and a majority of the personal health stuff wrapping up, I should find more time to work on writing.
The above doesn’t mean I have been completely ignoring Corruptant however! I’ve gotten the coded part of the update to 230,000 words, and still have a few more scenes that I want to write out before releasing the update. The PoV scenes are done (thank goodness) and apart from the extra scenes and then debugging everything, the update should be done. I had hoped to get it done before 1 year since the last update passed, but just couldn’t. Apologies for all that.
In slightly different news, I do have a major surprise for you all as well, one that I’ll reveal shortly after the demos update. I’d love to give a time for the update, but I know that I’ll just end up missing it. So rough expectation; 1-2 months, but of course no promises! (ADHD is a cruel mistress)
Hope all of you are keeping well yourselves! And I am looking forward to sharing the update with you all, whenever it is finished!

is the game still getting a update?
I know I’m late answering this, just wanted to answer it properly.
Yes, I am still working on the game. However progress has been slow. Personal stuff has gotten in the way a bit. Pair that with the fact I needed to write 5 separate PoVs, which required me to get into the headspace of the respective characters and writing has been slow.
I’ve got one more PoV to write, two more character scenes to write, a branch of an action scene to write and then write a bit more until I reach my designated leave off point. As of now I think I’ve written about 60k words extra and probably will have another 20-30k to add.
After all the writing I then need to code it and give it some editing, so I don’t really have a timeline but I can say I have been working on it.
Apologies for the radio silence and hopefully with some of the larger personal stuff wrapping up this month I’ll be able to write more.

What would morgana and the rest of the ro reaction be to the mc figuring out a way to break the rune and immediately killed the king and all his advisors, and disappeared to live quietly somewhere living off the land and left them a message to join him?
Would they leave them alone or hunt them down? Would they agree to what he wants?
If the MC found a way to disappear somewhere, and invited the cast (or the single romantic interest) to wherever they have hidden, after murdering the king and the rest of the council, it would really depend on the person. (this also all does depend on the MC having a good relationship/friendship with the person)
Sam would probably listen, if they were given the chance to reconnect, they'd probably bid farewell to Morgana, and leave to follow the MC. They would have a lot of questions, but they'd come without any ill will.
Maverick as well would follow the MC, again assuming they have a good relationship.
Everix would be torn between their commitment to the Blackguard, and by extension the broader kingdom itself and their care for the MC. In this example, the murdering of everyone would keep them from joining the MC. However, if the MC just disappeared, without the murdering, they'd follow them.
Quinn would similarly be torn, a platonic Quinn most likely would not follow the MC, too reliant on the comfort of her lab and the access to research the city provides. A romanced Quinn would be different, she'd have a really difficult decision, that ultimately would come down to the murdering, similarly to Everix.
Morgana would be similar to Everix and Quinn as well. Having a duty to assist with the management of the Kingdom in a crisis, would prevent her from leaving, no matter how much she cared. However, if the MC didn't do the murders, she would try her best to find a successor for the Blackguard (ironically, her number one choice would be Everix) and if she could find someone to take over her position, she would leave. To try being a family again, and also keep an eye on the MC.
Hayes like the others, has two alternatives. If the MC did just disappear, they'd more then happily follow the MC if they were romanced. If they were not, the MC would need to have invited more then just them, then friend Hayes would come with the group. If the murders did happen however, Hayes would never be able to leave, they'd be crown as the next sovereign, as Avery (their sister) is on the council. Hayes would try their hardest not to seek revenge or let that effect them, but it would. They'd would eventually try to track down the MC, if at least to ask why. However, chances are they would be trying to kill the MC in retribution. (The MC did murder their father and sister afterall, and even with the tense relationship between Hayes and their family, they do love them.)

Will it be possible to never pursue a relationship (romantic or platonic) with the RO's?
Another thing, since the MC was little, they have the potential to be dangerous/evil without any type of demonic influence (demonstrated by stabing another kid a bazillion times).
Sam already knows this, but it'd be quite interesting to see the other R0's reaction (maybe as a story being told) that the MC was never really a good person, in the sense that they were already seemed predisposed to commiting extreme acts of violence.
While I love a good redemption/I will not be what you thing I am story, I don't really get the chance to play "I'll be the monster you created" without feeling guilty over the MC's actions, so that's pretty neat.
And imo, our fav Demon King seems to be in the right for the most part. If we can trust them, I would prolly be pissed if people would invade my land, rob it, and the cast me aside to another place, which isn't my own, while scattering bits of me across the planet lol .
Like yea sorry, apocalypse all the way!
Yes, it will be possible to end the book without any platonic (or romantic) relationships. You will be able to ignore/hate on every member of the team. Will this have consequences? I won't say, but it will impact the endings/epilogue.
As for the past actions of violence, there is a reason (albeit a small one) on why the MC has choices in those moments of violence.
Glad you like the demonic voice in your head! Although, the "if we can trust it" does a heavy amount of lifting. And what do I know, maybe you can, maybe you can't?

How would Morgana feel after seeing MC's fortune that they would be the one to destroy the world. Then she read another fortune on how MC would have been the one to save the world if they didn't experience the torture.
Not to hint at future updates, but can you read into the future yourself? The first part of your question lines up pretty well with the next update, minus the Morganna part.
This might get a little spoiler-y but if the MC saw the fortune that surrounds the MC in the actual story, she would probably tear up a bit in sympathy and regret. She would then due all in her power to make sure that the MC can most prepared for what will happen, knowing that Fate cannot be avoided.
That last part is what sort of sinks your ask from a "in-world" part. But I'll roll with that anyway. (So keep in mind that in the actual "Canon," fortune telling does indeed exist and will play a role in the story; it just isn't flexible like they ask.)
If Morganna saw that the MC would be fated to destroy the world, she would lock the MC up, somewhere where she would have the most control. Not too dissimilar to the torture the MC already went through. She would think about just killing them "for the greater good of the world," but would be conflicted emotionally about killing her adopted child, as well as knowing that letting the MC's "soul" pass onto the afterlife is letting it leave her sight.
If she would then see the opposite, she would obviously be regretful for the moment. Not out of some sort of "I should of made the other choice," because in her mind, even with "proof" to the contrary, she was only offered two choices regarding the MC: Lock them up and find a use for them or Kill them. She was always going to pick the option that didn't kill them. No, she would feel regret and sadness over who the MC could've been and what could have been. She would feel remorse that the MC got stuck in the world where they were the villain and not the hero. But Morganna is not someone who ruminates a lot, and she wouldn't spend too much on grieving what could have been, she'd try to act.

Is there a way for the MC to break the rune on their backs and get revenge without giving in to the demon in their heads? Also how would cast feel about a suicidal MC? One that looks for death cause they refuse to go back to the chains?
Been busy for the past few weeks, but funny enough your question combines 2 others I got. I'll cover the first part first.
Regarding the rune, almost nothing that mortals have access to would be able to remove it. Not to say that it would be impossible, but very difficult. Not even "giving into" It would get rid of the magic that binds the MC. As for if there will actually be a chance, I won't say to not spoil the endings I've got in mind :)
And yes, revenge will be possible regardless of the state of the rune, the Ancient Blood King or the MC's status. At least revenge in certain terms.
As for a suicidal MC, almost every character would be affected by it. Everix and Sam would particularly be effected, but all of them would try to help the MC (barring the MC completely being hostile to them.) If the MC ever did go through with the act of self-decapitation, Morganna and Sam would mourn pretty hard, regardless of their relationship with the MC. The others would all react depending on how close they were to the MC, but even in cases of hostility, they'd be shaken up (except for Quinn, who would stoically deal with the MC passing as she dealt with other less longed-lived mortals dying around her).
As for the reason for suicide being rooted in wanting freedom, everyone would help by trying to convince the MC that freedom will come. (Apart from Maverick, who would for sure try to be optimistic, would share some of the same reservations about being imprisoned.) It'd be up to the MC to be convinced. Morganna would probably be the most affected by those words, not wanting to lose her child. She would not offer empty words, however, instead stating that the MC's freedom will depend on how they act and how effective they are.

Can you only romance Sam if you pick the initial crush, or can you develop romantic feelings post torture?
You can indeed romance Sam after the fact. It’ll be a bit slower, but yes you’ll be able to romance Sam regardless of your choice in the past.

If MC has some freaky alone time would Ozyx be a front-row audience to it?
It does indeed experience everything that the MC does, including those things. It is the ultimate voyeur to the MC.

In the flash backs, when you're choosing how the MC acts does this reflect on your future self's stats or does it allow you to create a seperate pre-torture personality?
It sets up the relationship with Sam. And there is one hidden stat that can be increased a tiny amount during the flashbacks currently in the game. However aside from adding different flavour, the choices do not affect the current MC’s personality nor is there a tracked “past personality.” (That would be a little too much stat tracking for me)
The reasonings for this are twofold. The first was mentioned above, in the fact that I would have to write new stats to track the MC’s personality, as the current stats tracked are hyper specific to being a Corruptant.
The second reason is much more important, there are only two more flashback scenes, one of which I’ve written already and occurs before the MC is on the streets (in other words, ridiculously young). The last flashback will be a bit longer, and potentially I’ll add a choice that defines a particular personality. (Something like the MC was playful as a teen, more serious, etc). That choice would probably come in the form of Morgana reminiscing about the MC. But that flashback won’t occur for another little while.
I’m not sure if that explains it well enough but that’ll probably be the extent of “past personality” MC. The main thing that matters is the actions of the MC during the flashbacks. (Trying to kill or spare people, picking the relationship with Sam, those kind of things)

How would Morgana and the rest of our merry little band react to a completely apathetic MC turning around and calmly walking back to camp with narry a word to any of them after narrowly winning a fight and being very wounded?
An apathetic (or not) MC ignoring their wounds and others after a close fight would draw some eyes.
Quinn and Morgana both know that the MC will heal, and thus any sort of concern would come from Morgana worrying about the MC’s mental state.
Everix too knows that the MC will heal, they just cant help themselves but worry. They’d probably make sure to head over to the MC after debriefing Morgana and offer to mend clothes and talk.
Hayes would probably consider the MC to be a little melodramatic after such a fight, and would probably try to follow them. Either to tease them or to see what’s up (if Hayes and the MC’s relationship is less tease filled).
Maverick would praise the MC (obviously) although he’d be a little concerned about the MCs health, not really getting that they’re going to heal. He wouldn’t voice any concerns however, instead stewing in anxious silence after his praise.
Sam would just watch the MC leave. They’d worry about the MC, but wouldn’t do anything. Fear and anxiety would lock them down.

So based off that last ask how would Sam react if MC mentioned that they never actually broke up so they're technically still together lol. Also can that be an option in-game cause it would be funny.
Sam would shrug it off, but beneath their nonchalance be slightly surprised that the MC remembers. They most definitely do indeed remember.

Can we kill Morgana at some point in the future?
Yes. Well it most likely won’t happen until the climax or epilogue, there will indeed be an option to try and kill Morgana.

I just replayed yesterday and smth has been on my mind. For a Sam and MC that were in a relationship in the past, i don't think they ever technically broke up right? What i mean is there was never an actual discussion about it or am i wrong? I know that after all those years, they're not together anymore because of all the circumstances. But i just thought it was interesting there was never an actual break up.
Super obsessed with the story and Sam btw <3
That is indeed correct. Of the flashbacks left to be added, the final one will feature some of the MC and Sam, thus be completely different if Sam and the MC are together :)

So I recently read through the demo and I got curious on whether there was any plans for a P.O.V from Sam after Hayes and MC had that kiss?
I don’t have plans for it no, as Sam most likely saw it for a second and willed themselves to ignore it (poorly (triply poorly for Sam with a past relationship with the MC)).

Hi!!! So i really like ur IF. I played it several time already while waiting for the next update :). But i have a question. I'm sorry if u already answer about this. I tried to find it, but ur QnA list is so long haha. But why being apathy is equal to forgiveness? (I knew this because i check the stats, while apathy increasing then forgiveness too) I want to choose to play an mc that numb to everything. But that doesn't mean i forgive them u know. Just my opinion. Maybe it'll be better not to tie those two stat. Keep the hard work and have a nice day. ❤ oh yeah and pardon my english.
It’s less that forgiveness is tied to actually forgiving and more not acting on vengeance and anger. Choices that don’t do that lower the “vengeance” stat which raises the forgiveness stat.
That choice is willingly not acting on the anger lurking beneath the surface and this lowers the vengeance stat.
The options that are all there for each choice are all ‘whispers’ of thoughts in the MC’s head when it comes to acting on their emotions (or lack there of, for apathetic MCs).
I hope that makes sense? Don’t worry about that stat however as they don’t effect any concrete choice, despite “forgiveness” being high your MC will still get the choice to never forgive those that harmed them, it just means their less obsessed with Vengeance.

What do the RO's + Morgana think of an insane MC who is laughing creepy at weird times and enjoys killing and torturing others for their own entertainment if they were a kind kid before all that corruptant stuff that wqs done to them?
I hate to give a pretty short answer to this but really every single one of them would be scared of the MC and most of them wouldn’t want anything to do with them. Already the one madness tinted scene when the MC fights Thomas puts off people who watched.
Morgana would retreat into thoughts that the MC has been Corrupted completely and would advise that they be locked up again.
If the creepy laughing was the only thing the MC was doing it’d be a slightly different story, but pair that with a love of murder and torture and most people will justifiably see the MC as a monster.

How would the ROs and Morgana react to a bitter and angry MC becomes sweet and gentle around children and whenever MC heard a child what’s to be a blackguard they do whatever they can to gently dissuade them from joining?
Most of the RO’s would find it strangely endearing.
Everix would understand why the MC is telling kids to avoid the Blackguard, even if they don’t really agree with the words.
Hayes would find it quite funny that the MC goes all soft for children and tries to get them to avoid the Blackguard.
Sam would find it sweet and a prominent piece of evidence that maybe the MC isn’t all different. They don’t care about the Blackguard stuff.
Quinn would question the MC on why they are not closed off or bitter towards kids, trying to pick the MCs thought process. She would understand why the MC tells them not to join the Blackguard, and wouldn’t really have an opinion about it.
Maverick would definitely blow the MC being nice to children out of proportion, claiming them to be a gifted caregiver and secretly hoping that the MC has more then just words and comfort for the kids. He’d want the MC to give help or assistance to them, potentially even take some of them under their wing. Although he wouldn’t say any of that, ever.
Morgana would feel proud and happy that the MC is capable of caring, she would see it as proof that the MC can fight their nature. It would give her a lot of hope. And while she couldn’t help but feel somewhat slighted at the MC for pushing people away from the Blackguard, she would understand why.
