a gijinka refresh in honor of 6 years since white 2 (featuring new pre-evos)

so, back then, i didn't really publish in-depth about my runs or have some elaborate story for them. characters like jackie have basically no content besides maybe answering an ask. and i actually didn't really post a bulk of content until AFTER the run. i just threw little tidbits out there of the gijinkas for fun and people ended up liking them (alongside my swsh team at the time!!) and despite me doing nuzlockes prior, this was really the start of my dedication to making them more complete characters. every nuzlocke over time as progressively offered more of the "journey", and compared to what i do now with platinum 2, their content is relatively sparse, but it all started here! i wouldn't probably be making a comic now without them (and you all!) which is crazy to think about but here we are.

Most infuriating part of writing is having an idea and thinking oh, this is gonna be so good and wanting to IMMEDIATELY share the vision with other people because it's gonna be good but then you start writing it down and - it is gonna be good. Except. It is also gonna take so, so, so long to finish. And in the meantime. You are the only one with The Vision. Alone. Losing your mind. 😭

Oh my gosh. I just found this website that walks you though creating a believable society. It breaks each facet down into individual questions and makes it so simple! It seems really helpful for worldbuilding!

You know what? I see posts about Pokémon as disability aids, like a seeing-eye Jolteon, or a deaf/HoH translator Mr. Mime, or a wheelchair guide Machamp, things like that.

But what about Pokémon WITH disability aids? Where’s the Loudred that needs a hearing aid? Where’s the Hitmonchan with a prosthetic? Even a Smeargle with glasses because they’re shortsighted and colourblind?

I just think there has to be some kind of market in the Pokémon world for these things. After all, there are assistances for pets IRL, and Pokémon get universal free healthcare, so where are they? The Pokémon that people love even when life throws them a challenge.

do fic readers know that their comments actually influence the course of the story sometimes? i don't mean in a "you need to write it this way because i say so 😡" type of comment, i mean when people are asking questions or really engaging with the plot and the themes in the comments they sometimes bring up things that i didn't even think of, or dig into parts of the story that i've overlooked, or get really interested/fixated on something i was going to just kind of glance over--and it has me going 'oh wait that's actually really interesting, that's a good point' and fully adding or tweaking or changing things about the story going forward. i'm literally adding an entire additional chapter to something right now because someone's comment had me like "oh i didn't dig into that as much as i could have." you have impact!

Been working on an isat daemon au (you know, like hdm style) and I kinda want to yell about it but also what if people don't like my choices for it... what if you all kill me with hammers... I know this won't happen but still. scarey. I'm still not really used to writing this kind of fic, not even daemon aus, just like. Regular fic for regular fandoms that aren't nuzlocke or blaseball where you're encouraged to do Whatever. anyway if any of my isat mutuals want me to be unhinged at them about this hmu lol
