I know as a fandom we joke and love the idea of the sk8 gang being a family. But when you think about it......they really are in a way.

Like think about it:

• Cherry is a calligraphy icon meaning he has at least an ambition for art most likely painting, and assuming he made Carla himself, knowledge of computer programing and robotics.

• Reki, loves skateboarding so much he makes boards for himself and for commission. Not only that he is also a sick artist, look at the bottom of his own and langas boards dope af!

• imagine them painting together!!!! Them bonding over different art styles. WHAT IF THEY MAKE A BOARD TOGETHER! And Cherry helps him with new ways to make the board faster and stylish! stop wait what if reki makes a traditional board for cherry as a thank you and apologie gift for his help with the Adam situation. And cherry makes him his own mini version of carla!

•I NEED TO MOVE ON! I LOVE THEM TOO MUCH

• Joe and miya!!! Ok so we can all(or at least most) already agree that Miya does homework a Joe's restaurant and Joe complained at first but now he just let's him cause there is no stopping this kid.

•what if Joe helps with homework and miya taste tests dishes! And if there is a really bad day at school Joe has learned miyas favorite dish and makes it for him to cheer him up. Then they talk it out after the restaurant is closed for the night.

• And Joe is just so proud of miya when he gets a good grade on a test or masters a new move he has been working on! And miya is always there to try and make Joe happy!...you can not tell me miya did not make a noodle necklace for joe when he had a bad day, cause I have a gut feeling miya never got to do that as a kid.

•joe wears it any time he is in a tough S beef.....(his success rate is off the charts)

•lastly, crush yaps and (terrible) advice with Langa and Uncle Shadow

•you can not tell me that shadow is not the uncle that you think is insane but actually holds the brain cells in the family.

•like we already know that by now shadow has made respect for langa and wants to see him succeed. But like imagine one day langa just cracks and blabs out his MASSIVE crush on reki.

• shadow is either baffled or 100% unphased (idk) then he goes through the "you are seen" & "love is love" speech. Once that is done he tells langa he get is cause he....well...hashadacrushonhismanagerforyearsandhasnevertoldanyonebefore-

• langa having a similar reaction as shadow then starts yapping about reki, his love....

....

Of skateboarding. And shadow yaps about manager lady....(side question does she have a name?...have we agreed on a name?...help)

Ofcourse this is all just my headcanons that refuse to leave my brain. But tell my your thoughts cause it is eating me alive with how cute this is!

I get a little sad about the sk8 community sometimes because I can put the words "Langa angst" into a social media search bar and all the posts are still gonna be about Reki.

And don't get me wrong, I love Reki. I have a little beaded Reki on my bulletin board that I look at every day. But I really love Langa too. I wish he got some attention that wasn't just about his relation to Reki.

(thats a broader issue within the fandom about both of them rarely being spoken of as their own characters and rather being defined by their relationship to each other but thats not what this post is about)

I feel like there's just so much untapped potential. Angst lovers, are you paying attention? Here is a thrill chasing, grieving boy with sad blue eyes, in a new country with the first friends he has ever made. A guy who can't appreciate the good things he has until he has lost them. A guy who doesn't really know how to express his emotions but is probably a huge mess deep down.

I've seen a slight uptick in Langa content in the form of edits on tiktok, but I'm not pleased yet. Do something, angst lovers! Make sad fanart! Write angsty Langa centered one shots and promote them in my ask box! Go into his psyche, the common people are starving.
