NIKOLA TESLA

Source: google
Nikola Tesla was an engineer and scientist known for designing the alternating-current (AC) electric system, which is the electrical system used across the world today. He also created the "Tesla coil," which is still used in radio technology.
Inventions
AC Electrical System
Tesla designed the alternating-current (AC) electrical system, which would quickly become the preeminent power system of the 20th century and has remained the worldwide standard ever since.
Hydroelectric Power Plant
In 1895, Tesla designed what was among the first AC hydroelectric power plants in the United States, at Niagara Falls.
Tesla Coil
In the late 19th century, Tesla patented the Tesla coil, which laid the foundation for wireless technologies and is still used in radio technology today. The heart of an electrical circuit, the Tesla coil is an inductor used in many early radio transmission antennas.
There are still a lot of Nikola Tesla inventions but these are the inventions that can be applied today. Nikola tesla was one of my favorite scientist.

UPCAT FINISHED ME
Honestly, before my upcat exam started I was not really nervous because feeling nervous would just be a waste of energy because I thought that I already failed the exam. UP Diliman isn't really my dream school, but it would be great to pass the exam so I still prepared for it. The night before the exam I prepared everything, my water, clothes, pencils and erasers, glasses, snacks and of course, chocolates! So when it was time before the exam I met up with my friends and we went to UP together. To describe the place, it was enormous and very beautiful! Right then, I realized why people aspire to get into this school. We went to our building, fell in line then got seated to our room.

When we got to our room, our proctor told us the instructions and then we began. Honestly, the other parts of the exam were not that difficult. Although it is true that when answering, you have to think as fast as possible or you'll lose time. The language proficiency wasn't that hard, but the filipino part is quite tricky for me. As for the science, most are basic as well but I did have some problem computing for force and such since im not really good with numbers. And with that, math was really difficult for me! Some of the items in the mathematics part were just too difficult that I skipped or made a "smart guess" with other items. Now, the last part of the exam was really easy but time consuming. There will be long paragraphs that you have to understand to be able to answer the following questions but you'd have to be fast at reading because you'll only have a few time. We finished the exam around night time and I was able to finish everything on time, though I still think that my score won't be enough to pass, therefore it's the test that finished me. 🤣 Needless to say it was a fun experience and taking the exam was worth it! I hope for the best for everyone that took the exam!

UPCAT 2019 Experience

The University of the Philippines College Admission Test, commonly known as UPCAT, is part of the admission requirements of the University of the Philippines, administered to graduates of Philippine and foreign high schools. UPCAT was first administered in 1968. (source: wikipedia)
My UPCAT schedule was October 6, 2019 at 6:30am and I only reviewed for 2days before my exam. During the day of my exam I woke up at 4:00am because we need to get at the UP College of Engineering before 6:00am, heavy traffic is already expected during that day because of the amount of UPCAT takers. We arrived at the place at 5:45 am and many people are already lining up there. My mom just dropped me off in front of the Engineering building. I was now alone and I did not talk to other students because i was very shy. It was now 6am the gates of the building are now open, we lined up and our test permits were checked before we enter the building. Then we were group by batch. The batch that I was into was going to the third floor. Before entering the testing room our permits were checked again and the proctor let us use the bathroom first. After that we lined up 15 per row, then we entered the room. There are 100 students and 5 proctor in our room. Before the exam begin the proctor told us the instructions to be followed, then allowed us to start the exam. The first part was language proficiency and we have 50 minutes to answer 100 items. It was easy to answer but you need to answer it fast because you only have 30 second per item in order to finish it all. The next subject is science we have 50 minutes to finish the 60 items. some questions are easy but the ones with computations are hard to answer i left 4 blanks there. The next subject is Math, we have 1hr and 15 mins to answer the 60 items. This was the very challenging one because it was very hard and confusing I don't know if the guess that i made were correct. We have plenty of time but the questions were too complex. I thinks I left 7 blanks in that. The last part was Reading Comprehension this was the easiest but boring part, because it is 120items and to be answered in 1hr 15mins. The stories and poems are too long, it will consume most of your time. UPCAT was a very challenging and fun experience for me.

Negative effects of using gadgets to our health

There are many negative effects of using gadgets to our health. Many students and people are using too much of there gadgets. Here are the effects of gadgets to our health.
1.) Blurred Eye sight- using too much can have a big effect in our eyes. Usually we use our gadgets before we sleep. It can destroy our eyes so we must avoid using gadgets before going to sleep.
2.) Affects the education of students- students dont have enough time in there studies but they have more time using there gadgets. They spend more time playing games and surfing the internet than doing there homeworks.

Does being a MUA, a good source of living?
For my opinion, it depends if being a MUA is your passion or not, if it’s your passion, definitely, you will not feel that you are working or it is a job that needs to be done, you are doing it because you love what you are doing, and it will be a good source of living, but on the other hand, if you are doing it for the sake of earning money, you will not enjoy what you are doing, because working for money is not a good practice, everyone can learn make up, everyone can do make up, but not everyone does it because they want it, some does it for the sake of gaining money. I am not saying that you should not ask money for your service, but what I am saying is that, it’s much better if you are doing it because it is what your heart desires. Being a make- up artist is not just a living, it becomes a lifestyle.
There is no distinction in being a MUA, you do not need a license to be called a MUA, experience and attitude towards work is needed. Many people underestimate the job of being a make up artist, they would say, you are not a degree holder, or being a MUA is not a professional job, but the case is not like that, some MUAs are degree holder, some are CEOs, engineer, Managers, Brand ambassadors, Psychologist, HRM graduate, Political Science graduate and many more. For me, being a MUA does not require credentials, it does not matter if you have a high position at work, if you are rich, if you are popular, and many more, what matters is your skills on how you master applying and playing with colors on the surface of the face.
Being a MUA needs a lot of investments, I’ll be honest, make up is not cheap, it is pricy! Even drug store make ups, and make up does not compose of 5-10 products, it’s a lot! When you combine all the make up products, it becomes more expensive. And not only make up is needed when becoming a make up artist, you will need, lighting, tools, chair, mirror, terrain case and many more. The other necessities, is quite expensive especially the terrain case, because it will be the compartment of your make up, and it can also be your table, the cheapest I know is 1500 php, but it is not spacious, quite good for beginners, the lighting, it can light up your set-up, when there is no natural source of light, but can also be a burden, because when you travel, it is one of the most difficult to carry, because it is fragile and also has a weight. Next is the tools, you can apply make up using your hands, but when doing it for other people, I do not think, it is a good idea, aside for not being hygienic, some client does not like touching their face, yeah, you heard it right, some does not like their face to be touched by hands, that’s why you need tools, the tools are make up brushes, (precicion brushes, face brushes, brow brush), blender, sponge, spoolie, lipstick, applicator, powder puff and eyelash curler. Next one is the chair, any chair will do but it is much easier for you if you use telescopic chair or make up chair, because you can adjust the height of the chair so your back would not hurt, and it has a layover at the sides so you can put your make up there.

Life as a robot
Social media is now the most popular form of media in our generation. The people who mostly use this are millennials or teenagers and kids. Social media is actually very convenient, having to know the issues that has been happening lately or the hot topics of the modern society. It helps us stay updated about many informations such as current news and calamities. It is also for the entertainment of the teens such as where they watch YouTube or even find movies. It lets them download apps where they can listen to their favorite music for free and there is also instagram and facebook where people can post videos or pictures. Twitter is also part of social media as this is where teenagers usually write or express their feelings and thoughts.

However, social media is not entirely good. Specially if teens become to hooked to it. Some problems about social media is that when people become too open, it would destroy their privacy. If they post unecessary pictures or videos, they could be criticized by the viewers. A lot of teens become too addicted, that they start to have health problems such as obesity. Because unlike before, kids love to go outside to have fun. But most teens now love to lay in bed just exploring social media. Social media can also cause suicide, why? Because there are people who get bullied in social media and the effect on them can be too heavy. Although, social media is not entirely bad to the society, I still think that our generation today should be aware of how social media can turn us into robots.

Thorium
(source: google)
What is Thorium?
Thorium is a basic element of nature, like Iron and Uranium. Like Uranium, its properties allow it to be used to fuel a nuclear chain reaction that can run a power plant and make electricity. Thorium itself will not split and release energy. Rather, when it is exposed to neutrons, it will undergo a series of nuclear reactions until it eventually emerges as an isotope of uranium called U-233, which will readily split and release energy next time it absorbs a neutron. Thorium is therefore called fertile, whereas U-233 is called fissile. (source:wikipedia)
Reactors that use thorium are operating on what’s called the Thorium-Uranium fuel cycle. The nuclear reactors, use enriched uranium or reprocessed plutonium as fuel, and only few have used thorium. Current and new designs can use thorium. I think that Thorium and uranium fuel cycle has some different capabilities over the traditional Uranium-Plutonium cycle, because thorium is more abundant on earth and it produce less waste. It also produces more energy in small amount.
Benefits of using it on Power Plants
Thorium cycles exclusively allow thermal breeder reactors (as opposed to fast breeder). More neutrons are released per neutron absorbed in the fuel in a traditional (thermal) type of reactor. This means that if the fuel is reprocessed, reactors could be fueled without mining any additional U-235 for reactivity boosts, which means the nuclear fuel resources on Earth can be extended by 2 orders of magnitude without some of the complications of fast reactors.

Different Types of Herbal Medicine

Most of us today don't have jobs and work to earn money. And that leads to poverty and lack of supply and money. Without money you cannot buy your own medicine when your not feeling well. Here are some of the herbal medicines that you can plant so that it can help you to feel well and virus free.
1.) Lemon balm have a relaxing, antispasmodic effect on the stomach and nervous system. Lemon balm is tasty and gentle enough for children when prepared in teas or tinctures with a glycerin base.
2.) Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) Rosemary is the great reviver. This herb stimulates energy and optimism memory and concentration by bringing more oxygen to your brain. It’s a wonderfully stimulating alternative to caffeine when you need that second wind. A row of these long-lived and drought-tolerant plants makes a beautiful, bee-friendly evergreen hedge. You may only need one plant in your garden.
These are the herbal medicine that can help you when you are sick. You can also plant these so that you can have medicine in case of emergency

Moisturize your face because your skin has a better glow when it’s hydrated!
Emollients are cosmetic preparations used for protecting, moisturizing, and lubricating the skin. These functions are normally performed by sebum produced by healthy skin. The word "emollient" is derived from the Latin verb mollire, to soften. The more lipid in the formulation, the greater the emollient effect. Ointments are more emollient than oily creams which are more so than aqueous creams, while most lotions have no emollient effect.
Hydrating versus Moisturizing
Moisturizers and hydrators both address the importance of making sure the skin is getting all the water it needs to fight dryness and dehydration, premature signs of aging and environmental damage. The difference, however, lies mostly in how they go about achieving these results.
“Hydration [refers to] the water content within the cells that leads them to swell and be plump and bouncy, thus reflecting light well. If water flows out of the cells and the cells are dehydrated, they can become shriveled, which leads to lackluster skin,” explains board-certified dermatologist Anna Guanche, MD, FAAD. This means that when you’re using a topical hydrator, you’re infusing your cells with water and improving your skin’s ability to absorb moisture and nutrients.
On the other hand, moisturizing is about trapping and sealing in moisture to build the skin’s protective barrier, prevent water loss and keep the skin soft and smooth, says board-certified dermatologist Tsippora Shainhouse, MD, FAAD.
Guess what!
There are also tinted moisturizers. Tinted moisturizers are used when you don’t feel to put BB creams, CC creams sunblock or foundation, y’all know not every day is a foundation day, so we have tinted moisturizers to brighten up our face. Your face gets moisturized, at the same time adds color, brighten up for more healthy and glowing skin. But what is the difference between BB cream, CC cream and Tinted moisturizer?
Welcome to the world of BB Creams, CC Creams and Tinted Moisturizers, all here to help you cover up without the need of heavy foundations. However, some of you may be reading this with no idea what the different is, or which one you should we going for. Rest assured – help is at hand. We’ve explored the options, along with the pros and cons to help you make a personal decision.
Lets start with the old favorite, the trusty tinted moisturizer. The name itself is pretty self-explanatory- it’s just like using your usual moisturizer, except it’s loaded with light pigment to cover, conceal and even out your skintone . The product’s base is a moisturizer that includes a small amount of tint, designed to very lightly create coverage, although it’s main purpose is to moisturize and hydrate your skin. As they act with the same purpose of moisturizers, they’ll usually be packed with SPF, which means you can moisturize and cover in just one step, knowing your skin is protected.
Next up is BB Cream, otherwise known as ‘Beauty Balms’, if you wish to know the official term! BB Creams actually originate from Asia but now take the international beauty world by storm, including America for the past 4 years. They have quickly become an essential for those who are conscious about flaws and imperfections on their skin. The main purpose of BB Creams is to prime, moisturize, even out the tone and provide a soft coverage. They differ from tinted moisturizers due to the fact they prime and moisturize, and you’ll find the coverage effect is fuller than that of tinted moisturizers.
Last but not least, CC Creams have burst onto the scene much more recently, and stand for ‘correct and cover‘ (or ‘conceal and correct’ – the jury is still out there!). They are actually very similar to BB Creams, but tend to be packed with extra benefits, including anti-aging effects. You usually find CC creams which focus on evening out the skin tone or controlling acne, containing oil-free formulas and utilizing lightweight textures.
Those who want more skin benefits than just a simple moisturize and conceal tend to go for CC creams, mainly because they contain more nourishing ingredients, including vitamin E and anti-oxidants. Some are even infused with properties which diffuse redness, and they can also contain a much higher SPF too. Great for applying to the skin during those hot Summer days!

Mother Earth is getting HOT!
Global warming has been a problem to us even before. And recently, it has become worse. So let's talk about global warming. For those who do not know, Global warming is projected to have a number of effects on the oceans. Ongoing effects include rising sea levels due to thermal expansion and melting of glaciers and ice sheets, and warming of the ocean surface, leading to increased temperature stratification. As you all know, global warming is a very serious threat to us and our planet. The problem is, are people aware enough of this problem? Or do people just see this as a problem that only scientists can solve? Let's go deeper to this problem.

"Climate change causes and impacts are increasing rather than slowing down. Sea level rise has accelerated and we are concerned that an abrupt decline in the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets, which will exacerbate future rise. As we have seen this year with tragic effect in the Bahamas and Mozambique, sea level rise and intense tropical storms led to humanitarian and economic catastrophes."
— World Meteorological Organization Secretary-General Petteri Taalas

Lately i've been seeing videos of how icebergs, ice sheets and etc. would melt. I even saw a video of a person riding a boat, and surrounding him are fishes that are dead because of global warming. Seeing and watching all these really breaks my heart. I am worried about our planet and our people and it just feels so sad that i do not think others feel the same. I think that it is important to raise awareness of all the calamities happening in our planet today and to be able to unite and find a way to fix and prevent those. We live in our planet as one therefore we should act as one. If our planet dies, so do we. So what are we waiting for? Its time for action!

Cryonics

(source: google. com)
Cryonics is one extreme of cryopreservation where the whole body is frozen in the hope that one day it will be possible to revive it.
On a smaller scale in day-to-day medicine, freezing is an extremely useful technique for storing living cells, such as blood cells, bone marrow, sperm and embryos, at ultra-low temperatures.
But scientists agree that preserving and reawakening the complete human body is a remote possibility which would take massive breakthroughs in technology.
Is it possible?
Prof John Armitage, director of tissue banking at the University of Bristol, believes you can never say never in science but there was little chance of it happening based on current knowledge.
He said taking tissues from healthy people to be stored for future use was one thing but taking a diseased body, freezing it safely - including the complex structure of the brain - and reactivating it was a far, far more difficult task.
"What are the chances there wouldn't be some damage?" Prof Armitage says.
"We are not even at the stage of cryopreserving organs yet, so doing it with a whole body would be a huge challenge."
Organs themselves are very complicated, containing different types of cells, blood vessels and an inter-cellular structure - which would all need to be preserved.
Barry Fuller, professor in surgical science and low temperature medicine at University College London, said the first step was to demonstrate that human organs could be cryopreserved for transplantation.
But at the moment the equipment to make that happen is not available, he said.
"This is why we have to say that at the moment we have no objective evidence that a whole human body can survive cryopreservation with cells which will function after rearming," he said.
What happens to the body?
After death, patients have to be acted on quickly.
In the UK, a group of volunteers trained in cryonics takes care of the body, starts the process of freezing and arranges for it to be shipped to the country where it is to be stored. At this stage, dry ice is used to keep the body at a low temperature.

Different Safety Precautions for Common Construction Risks

Many of the Civil engineers today don't follow the rules and regulation in a construction sites. The safety of the labors and also the people that surrounds the area must be also safe while the construction is going on. Being an engineer si not easy because you must know diffrent rules for you to maintain the construction clean and no injury in your labors. Here are some of the safety Precautions to guide you in managing your construction sites.
Head Protection
Protective gear is important because head injuries are caused by a myriad of construction hazards. Engineers, architects, and occupational safety professionals design buildings to be as safe as possible to maximize safety and efficiency. Head injuries can cause seizures, memory loss, impaired motor function, and death. In order to avoid these consequences, construction safety regulations require hard hats be worn in areas with strong potential for head injury. Hard hats are a simple and effective solution protecting construction workers from sudden or hidden risks.
Scaffolding and Fall Protection
Scaffolding and fall protection are closely related as many falls occur from scaffolding. Whether appropriately erected or not, scaffolding presents falling hazards that can only be avoided by alert workers. Similar to cranes, scaffolding must be frequently inspected for security and stability. Workers have to maintain weight limits when working and construction materials have to be transported upward carefully. Along with rigid guardrails to prevent falling, construction workers are required to wear hard hats.
Trenching Safety
Trenches are routes dug into the ground at different depths depending on the purpose. Soil can be very unstable and trenches can collapse without warning before they are secured. Construction workers working in the trench, face dangerous consequences such as burial and suffocation. Trenching accidents can occur for a variety of reasons, from accidentally disturbed soil to poorly established exits.
Safety First must be apply to all Business and we should take care of ourself when we are in work.

Fight depression!
Depression is still a major problem in the society. Honestly speaking, I do not think depression has been given enough attention and parents and other people haven't gotten enough awareness of it. But that's one thing we shouldn't be proud of. Our mental health is very important to us because it helps us become who we really are. And with depression, we change who we are. Depression has many bad effects. It is a serious medical illness that affect people negatively.

It restrains how teens socialize with other people and lets them develop insecurities that holds them. It even causes health problems that can lead to suicide. Till now, many people have depression and I think that it is time that we voice out to let them know that they are not alone. Our society should be considered as a family, therefore we should help each other. Lend an ear or a hand. Listen to others' problems and stop judging them. Boost the confidence of those who are insecure and protect the weak. Depression is a fight, not meant to be fought alone. We should all fight depression together, as one. It is a problem that not only affect people's emotions, but also kills them and that is why should fight depression!

Washing your face does not eliminate dirt and oil from your face! But cleansing does!
Do you know that ordinary washing cannot remove excess oil from your face? Even if you wash your face 10x a day! Yes it was proven and tested, your facial wash cannot remove deep seated dirt and oil, but your cleanser can! My tip before washing your face, is to apply cleanser on a clean cotton pad or cotton ball then apply it to your face, and then wash your face with your facial wash, now see the difference with cleanser and without cleanser.
I knew for some this will not work, but it works for me, why don’t you give it a try? Besides it can help you lessen oiliness and dirt from your face. My cleanser that I personally use is RDL baby face facial cleanser.
I personally loved this product because it matches my skin type and see the effect on my face.
The benefits of using RDL baby face facial cleanser are the following:
· Lessens oiliness
· Minimized pores
· Cleans deeper than facial wash
· Gentle to our skin
· Not harsh to our skin
· Mild, not irritating to the eye
· Works like a micellair water
· Good for removing make up
· Effective even without washing your face with soap and water
Before discovering RDL, I’ve been using Eskinol, we all know eskinol, teenagers now and before used this as their main skincare, but we all knew that, not all products are suitable for all skin types, although eskinol works best for almost all, it does not works for me, I cannot see the improvement like RDL does.
Is the product easy to use?
Yes! RDL baby face Facial cleanser is easy to use, you will need a cotton pad or cotton ball and then put a few amount of the product to the cotton and then to your face.
Is it of a high quality?
For me it is high quality, it works best for my skin type and the price is perfect for students like me, I forget the exact price but the biggest size is just 60php +.
Is it geared towards somebody like me?
Yes! You will just need a cotton pad or cotton ball to apply it to your face, make sure the cotton is clean, to avoid germs.
Have others had a good experience with the product?
Yes, I’ve watched vlogs on youtube and they had a good review about RDL facial cleanser, they use the product, as a pimple eraser, or to remove their breakouts.
What are the pros and cons of the product?
The pros are you’ll get a clean canvas of your face, very affordable price, gentle on your face, even if you put it in your eye, but not for too long, removes dirt and oil that cannot be removed by ordinary washing. The cons of the product is that, they’ve mistaken RDL facial cleanser for being harmful to your skin because it is an astringent, not well-known by many others, some think that it is cheap due to it’s price.
What alternatives are available, and how do they measure up?
Maxi-Peel Zero Micro-Exfoliant Liquid
Pixi Glow Tonic
CosRX AC Collection Calming Liquid Intensive
By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Prep Wate
Eskinol
Is the product worth my money?
Yes, the product really is, worth your money, It’s not that expensive, but it has ultra good quality, why don’t you give it a try? Quality over quantity.

For today’s food review is my personal favorite, the shrimp tempura.
Everytime we go to a all-you-can-eat buffet, my first course of dishes is the tempura with or without rice it’s still the number dish that goes with any food i get.
“ Tempura is one of the most popular type of Japanese food that is widely enjoyed around the world. Among all kinds of tempura, Shrimp Tempura (海老の天ぷら) is probably most common one as you see on menus in Japanese restaurants. “ mostly common to all restaurants in japan.
overall is this is one of my personal favorite foods that ever existed and if ever i wanna learn a new recipe, i would love to learn this and cook it everyday
