as i was younger, my favorite thing to say to my parents was “i’m not a kid anymore.” i would scream it and scream it and one day, i woke up and i wasn’t a kid anymore. i didn’t laugh at my favorite cartoons as loud, dinosaur chicken nuggets didn’t satisfy my taste buds, my parents stopped calling me “sweetheart” and “babygirl”, and i didn’t get to bed at 8:30 every night. so now, i’m writing this at 12:47am, confused in my bed, wondering, why the hell did i rush myself into this?
