day 481!

this counts as a daily hinomori right. anyway here's the au (im just copying what i wrote earlier there was not enough thought put in i was watching the sonic destruction 2 thing. great content):

leoni were all white knights. saki's family were all imperial soldiers and she was torn between both sides. eventually, for treachery, she was cursed by the imperial soldiers so that she'd be unable to fight (or at least punished if she did), making her useless to both sides. she still wanted to protect something, so she retreated to a hidden land to protect the nature there.

honami wanted to protect people too. they all did! however, afraid of failing or getting hurt, she ran away, finding an ancient edifice where she could protect the animals nearby.

shiho worried that she was putting honami & ichika's lives at risk, as she the most capable fighter out of all of them, making her a target for the imperial soldiers. she, too, ran away in hopes of drawing attention away from them. the imperial soldiers sent a beast after her, and, although she gained the power of the land she moved to, she just about didn't have enough to defeat it, so she was locked in what seemed to be an eternal battle.

ichika never left the white knights, but she wanted to see the others again, so she travelled the land in hopes of finding them. saki was the first, still cursed, but pretending not to be. shiho initially refused to go with them - if ichika and saki failed to defeat the beast, she wouldn't leave. they manage, though ichika does most of the work due to saki's curse.

after shiho confesses that she was locked in an eternal battle to protect leoni, they search for honami (and yes they all ended up in the same land. it's small. they just dont move around much because curses). honami was afraid to follow - she, too, was cursed (same as saki), though hers was self-inflicted. shiho's words, saki's yearning and ichika's determination are ultimately what convince her.

"what about saki's curse" i dont know. magic of friendship. maybe. i wrote this out early i dont know what im doing
