Hi I love your gifs, especially the one about the name meanings of house Dayne. I had no idea Ashara’s name meant that :( I was wondering though where you got that gif footage from (of someone falling from a tower into the sea) it’s so hard to find a scene like that.

Yeah it does mean that! Its also derived from Arabic which is represented as the Month of Morning in Islam. I don’t know where the footage was from, since I did not make the gif set! Sorry!

Lady Allyria Dayne is the youngest sibling of Ali Dayne, Arthur Dayne, and Ashara Dayne. She is a noblewoman of House Dayne and the aunt of Edric Dayne, Lord of Starfall. Due to Edric’s young age, she is the regent of Starfall and is his legal guardian. She is also engaged to Beric Dondarrion, Lord of Blackhaven.

Lord Edric Dayne is the head of House Dayne and ruler of Starfall. He is the son of Ali Dayne and the nephew of Arthur, Ashara, and Allyria. His aunt Allyria Dayne is his guardian and regent due to his young age. He has blonde hair and dark blue eyes that are almost purple. He is also shy, good-natured, polite, and never killed anyone. He was nursed by Wylla a servant of Starfall when his mother did not have enough milk. Edric was also told that Wylla was the mother of Jon Snow, but his aunt Allyria disagrees. When Edric was seven years old, his aunt Allyria became engaged to Lord Beric Dondarrion and Edric went to serve as his squire. In the meantime, Allyria was ruling Starfall while Edric was away. Edric was present at the Hand’s tourney were he sees Lord Eddard Stark and Sansa Stark. Edric wishes he could speak to Lord Stark but was too nervous. Later, Edric is sent to to the riverlands by Eddard Stark to apprehend Ser Gregor Clegane. After the force is ambushed at the Battle of Mummer’s Ford, Edric grabs a dying Beric from the river and stands over his body as the battle goes on. He continues to squire for Beric even while the brotherhood without banners, and fight to protect smallfolk during the War of the Five Kings.  When Edric runs into Arya Stark he goes by the name of Ned, and she helps him remove his breastplate. After Beric is killed in a duel with Sandor Glegane, Thoros of Myr helps Edric and revives Beric; and later Edric fights alongside Beric in the Battle at the Burning Septy. Edric Dayne tries to befriend Arya Stark and he tells them of when he met her father and saw her sister at the Hand’s Tourney. The two speak and Edric says her half-brother Jon Snow is his milk brother for Edric claims that Wylla was the mother of Jon and Edric was nursed by her, swearing on his house’s honor. When he reveals to Arya that he is Edric Dayne, he tells her how his late aunt Ashara Dayne committed suicide over a broken heart, and he hesitantly tells Arya that Allyria Dayne said that Eddard Stark and Ashara were lovers. Arya is offended by Edric’s comments and Edric tries to apologize but the two go their separate ways.  At Beric’s final death, Edric separates himself from the band of Beric’s that goes with Lady Stoneheart. It is speculated that Lord Edric Dayne went back to Starfall.

Ser Gerold Dayne is a knight of High Hermitage, a cadet house of the Daynes of Starfall. He is known for being handsome, his purple eyes, light hair, and he is in his late twenties. It’s also speculated at one point he was one of Princess Arianne Martell’s. Though of his beauty and looks, he is actually angry and very cruel. He is also extremely jealous of his late cousin, Ser Arthur Dayne who was the Sword of the Morning. Gerold allies himself with Princess Arianne Martell during the attempt of the Princess crowning Myrcella Baratheon. He was only included due to him reigning High Hermitage and his fighting abilities. When surprised at Arianne’s party by Areo Hath, Gerold attempts to kill Myrcella during the fighting but he only scars her face and cuts off her ear. Arianne Martell speculates that the plan failed thinking Ser Gerold Dayne betrayed her. Myrcella blames Gerold for the death of Arys, and Arianne feels that Gerold can be killed by Obara and Areo. His whereabouts are unknown.

Lady Ashara Dayne was a noblewoman of House Dayne, lady in waiting to Princess Elia Martell, and lady of Starfall. She was the sister of Ali Dayne, Lord of Starfall, Ser Arthur Dayne, and Lady Allyria Dayne. When she was presented at Harrenhal, she danced with Ser Barriastan Selmy, Prince Oberyn Martell, and Lord Jon Connington. She also danced with Eddard Stark, after his brother Brandon spoke with her. According to rumors and Allyria Dayne, it is said that Ashara and Eddard loved one another, and that Barriastan was also in love with Ashara but he never told her. It’s speculated that at Harrenhal someone had dishonored her. After the Tower of Joy, Eddard Stark went to inform House Dayne of Arthur’s death and presented Ashara with Arthur’s sword, Dawn. After this meeting, Ashara had jumped from the top of Palestone Sword; a tower in Starfall, and into the sea to her death. It is said she died of a broken heart, a stillborn child, a stolen child, or of Arthur’s death. The body of the fallen star was unfortunately never found. When Eddard had returned to Winterfell with Jon Snow, rumors sparked that Ashara Dayne was his mother and that her lover killing her brother led to her suicide. However this remains only a rumor, and Lord Stark ended all talk of such a thing. Ashara Dayne is remembered for her great beauty, such as her dark hair and haunting violet eyes.

Ser Arthur Dayne was a knight of Starfall and the Sword of the Morning. He was the younger brother of Ali Dayne, and the elder brother of Ashara and Allyria Dayne. Hailing from House Dayne he became a member of Aerys II’s Kingsguard and was considered the most chivalrous warrior of the Seven Kingdoms. He had the sword Dawn, and wore it on his back. He gained the trust of the smallfolk of the kingswood by paying what he and his forces took their grievances to Aerys II. Arthur defeated the Smiling Knight in a single combat and ended the threat of outlaws. He then shortly after knighted Jamie Lannister (Jamie who idolized Arthur greatly). He became the champion of the tournament that honored Viserys Targaryen’s birth in 276 AC, defeating Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. However Arthur lost to the Prince by breaking 12 lances against Rhaegar at the tourney at Storm’s End. At the tourney at Harrenhal in 281 AC, he lost againto Rhaegar. Him and Rhaegar were also said to be very close friends. It is speculated that Arthur help aid in the kidnapping of Lyanna Stark near Harrenhal at the end of the year of the false spring. Once the rebellion ended, Arthur along with Ser Oswell Whent and Ser Gerold Hightower were found at the Tower of Joy. Arthur was killed there by Eddard Stark and his companions, but the exact details are unknown. Eddard Stark described Arthur Dayne as one of the finest knights he had ever seen, and said Arthur would have killed him if not for Howland Reed. Catelyn Stark also referred him as the deadliest knight of Aerys II’s kingsguards. Stones used from the Tower of Joy were used to build Arthur’s cairn by a nearby ridge. Arthur Dayne’s sword Dawn was returned by Eddard Stark to Lady Ashara Dayne, as a sign of great respect. He was remembered as a skilled fighter, along as a valiant and true knight.

Lord Ali Dayne was the Lord of Starfall and the ruler of House Dayne. He is the eldest sibling and eldest brother of Arthur, Ashara, and Allyria Dayne. He is the father of Edric Dayne, his only son and heir. When he passed, he left his young son Edric to succeed him. It is possible he had his only surviving sister Allyria be the regent of Starfall until Edric would reach of age.

Ser Joffrey Dayne was a knight hailing from House Dayne of Starfall during the reign of King Aegon I Targaryen. In 10AC when Aegon I tried to conquer Dorne in the First Dornish War, Ser Joffrey led an army to the walls of Oldtown against Aegon I, razing the villages and fields outside of it. He is known for helping success of Dorne against the Targaryen army.

Vorian Dayne was a member of House Dayne and Lord of Starfall. He was the last King of the Torrentine and was the Sword of the Evening. Vorian was renowned as the greatest knight in all of Dorne. He was one of the armies defeated in Nymeria’s War and House Dayne submitted to House Martell. Vorian Dayne was one of the six kings sent to the Wall in gold fetters by Princess Nymeria.

Samwell Dayne was a member of House Dayne and the Lord of Starfall. He was a King of the Torrentine and was known as The Starfire by his people. Samwell Dayne was also a conqueror for he once had sacked the city of Oldtown.

Lady Clarisse Dayne was the Lady of Starfall, ruling House Dayne during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen. She was reported to be proud and beautiful. When King Maegor I wanted to take another wife, Grand Maester Benifer suggested Lady Clarisse as a possible wife in order to remove her from her lands and house in Dorne. However Maegor I dismissed his advice, and Clarisse stayed ruling as Lady of Starfall.
