Sparkling Peach Sangria

A favorite summertime cocktail that is cool, refreshing, and perfect for any special occasion! With only six ingredients, it’s equally as easy to make too!

Ingredients:

·       1 bottle Sauvignon Blanc wine

·       1 cup peach flavored sparkling water

·       ½ cup peach schnapps

·       3 cups sliced fruit (peaches, strawberries, pineapple, etc…)

·       ¼ cup simple syrup* (optional)

·       1 bottle Champagne to top off (optional)

Instructions:

·       In a large pitcher, combine the Sauvignon Blanc wine, sparkling water, and peach schnapps. Add the simple syrup to your desired taste. The more syrup, the sweeter the sangria will be!

·    Top with champagne for an added bubbly taste (optional) and stir well

·       Best served over ice and garnished with fruit!

Double Denim: Do or Don’t?

In the early 2000′s when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake rolled on the VMA carpet in their full 80′s inspired head-to-toe denim outfits, the world was shook. While they took that look to the extreme, people started to get inspired by their outfits and recreated the look in a more stylish way. Even though the look did not stay around for long, it was eventually brought back into the fashion scene within the last few years. This look is some people’s go-to, but others just cannot stand to see it. On a recent poll taken on our Instagram story regarding if double denim is okay to wear or not, 65% of people voted no and the other 35% voted yes. So, while the majority voted that they did not like double denim, we still wanted to shine some light on the most perfect DD outfits (ones that may change your opinion about DD)!

1. Double Dark Denim (DDD?) 

This has to be my personal favorite type of double denim, and it is one that anyone could rock. The pairing of the same colored denim being worn together gives it a faux jumpsuit look, which is SO cute! 

2. Light Denim and a Dark Denim

This is a classic outfit that I even wear! The contrast of colors from the light jacket to the colored denim looks so effortless, but still very stylish. This is the perfect Spring or Summer outfit. 

3. Light Double Denim

While this outfit is truly not my cup of tea, it still looks really good with a simple colored shirt to give it some style. This is a very retro looking outfit because it instantly makes me think of the 70′s or 80′s, especially with the shoes Mila Kunis is wearing. 

While the majority of our followers voted that they did not like a classic double denim, I think it is still a really great outfit choice. This is an outfit that really takes a lot to style and think about, and if you do it incorrectly, then you will just look like a fool. Our advise is to keep pairing together your denim until you find one that looks the most stylish! Take our tips and apply them to yourself. High Waisted Denim: Your Forever Favorite Fit

While the high waisted fit is nothing new to fashion gurus, it is still a more recent trend for most retailers. Denim Details: What’s Trending Right Now?

I love a classic blue jean, but with everything that is coming into the fashion scene, how could you not trade your classics for an upgrade? Here is a look at the most fun and stylish denim that should be in your closet now:

1. Acid Wash

The perfect pair of denim to give your look that edgy-vibe. This wash can pair with any of your favorite basics, or dress it up however you please! It has reappeared and become more popular over the years because its so unique and has so much personality. Maybe 80′s fashion will live on forever! 

2. Patchwork

I was very iffy about the sight of patchwork designs on a pair of denim jeans, but the more I saw it, the more I had to have it! They are so cute and can really spice an outfit up. Their use of different blues give the jeans so much more character and they really stand out. 

3. Embroidery

While this trend has lost a lot of its flame in the last couple of years, its still very cute! This design gives your denim a girly feel and can compliment any outfit. I love the different flowers, swirls, and shapes that are shown on these denim pieces. 

4. Tuxedo Stripe

This is a trend I have not gotten into yet, but I know it is definitely gaining popularity. The stripe down the leg gives a stronger sense of dimension by elongating you! Frayed Hems: Flop or Fabulous?

In the traditional view-point, frayed hems, distressed denim, and faded materials are seen as jeans used for work or getting dirty. However, now those details are the most stylish parts about a pair of denim. People wear them with all sorts of outfits and rock them! As you walk down the street, you’ll see all sorts of people styling them the way they please. Most people can relate to a time when their older relatives gave them a couple dollars and told them, “Why don’t you go get a new pair of jeans for yourself, those are all worn out.” But you should see the look on their faces when you tell them you bought them like that.. “Like THAT?” is usually their typical response. 

As brands continue to experiment with all sorts of new fads and designs, the newest one, frayed hems, began to appear. Similar to traditional belief, years ago, I always through that frayed hems really meant your jeans were time to retire. Usually people wore them down as they dragged on the ground, or just typical wear and tear.  Fast forward 8 years from when I thought that, and you can now find me in my own pair of skinnies with frayed hems! Truthfully, I LOVE them. They give so much personality to a typical pair, and they don’t even unravel when you wash them.

Camouflage: Need or Knock?

Yes you read that right, camouflage is trending like crazy in the fashion scene these days. From pants to tops to shoes, you can find the hunting-neccessesity in the closet of many fashion forward individuals. While this pattern concerned me when I first saw it in major retail stores, I have grown to like it.. yes, I have been wondering what has gotten to my head too. When the store I interned at over the summer suggested I try on their newest pair of overall camouflage shorts to post on our social media, I was disgusted. You should have seen the look on my face when I had them on (smiling on the outside, cringing on the inside). 

However, the more I saw the pattern, the more I started to get on with trend. Models on the runway wore designer’s camouflage garments and it looked REALLY good!

Celebrities started walking the street in them, and in return, influencing others. 

More and more outfits started to get behind the camouflage trend. It was the perfect way to give some edge to an outfit and spice it up a little. My favorite outfits include:

1. A camouflage jacket with ripped skinny jeans and a simple top

2. A camouflage shirt with a army green leather skirt

3. Camouflage pants with a cozy sweater

Six Gorgeous Outfits Your Closet NEEDS for Autumn!

With the upcoming Autumn season coming up, your closet craves a much-needed makeover and style upgrade! Check out these perfect styled looks to get inspiration for your pumpkin patch dates and PSL Starbucks runs!

#1. Chunky Sweater! This essential is perfect to style many different ways. Try accessorizing with your favorite wide brimmed hat and a simple pair of booties. This is also a great way to stay warm with the unpredictable weather. Take your effortless look and turn it into your favorite Autumn outfit!

#2. The Perfect Peplum! This trend is here to stay for Autumn! Take your basic t-shirt and replace it with this peplum to give any outfit a little personality. We styled our outfit with a simple necklace, booties, and a camouflage jacket (stay tuned to see our true feelings on the newest fashion rage). The peplum looks flawless on any body type, and it takes an outfit from drab to fab!

#3. Button Front Skirts! This is an article of clothing your closet is DYING to have! It is oh-so cute and gives an outfit a little more with the gold or silver buttons. We completed our outfit with a blush turtle neck top and thigh-high boots. Don’t be surprised if you’re one of thousands of girls wearing this to a night out!

#4. The MULE! This is a shoe that is just starting to get introduced to women’s closet, and it is the cutest thing you’ll NEED! These are comfy, slip-on shoes that you will fall in love with the first time you try them on. We found the cutest leopard print mules and styled it with a button-front, tied shirt and a detailed bralette. We love the simplicity of the shoe, but also how it naturally looks so chic.

#5. Olive Green Twill Jacket! Truly the epitome of Autumn. A classic jacket that looks good with any outfit. Throw it on and all of a sudden you’re styling better than before! We love how it matches with the perfect Autumn hues, and even brings out the patterns of your outfit. We styled this outfit with a cream sweater over a plaid button-up (*another perfect style tip!*) and a light-brown pair of booties. And of course we had to take our photoshoot to the Pumpkin Patch, what kind of Autumn article would it be without this location?!

#6. Color Block Cardigan! Our last lovely Autumn staple for your closet. This is the simplest way to incorporate color automatically into your look while still being the stylish Queen you are! We styled our look with a plain white t-shirt (but wouldn’t a peplum look cute too?) and a strappy pair of heels.

What to Wear to Class When you Rather be in Bed

Have you had the longest week of your life trying to balance school, work, projects, homework, organizations, and a social life? When all you wanted was for today to be Saturday, but instead got suddenly woken up by your alarm clock to remind yourself you had class in an hour. Today would have been the perfect day to stay in bed all day. So, you decide to dress comfy to class, but you still want it to be cute, of course! Can’t let everyone think you just rolled out of bed! Here are a few cozy, but adorable #OOTD’s!

1. LEGGINGS! Truthfully a must in a closet; the college girl’s equivalence to a little black dress. Dress them up with a plaid blanket scarf and a cute denim jacket, or dress them down with a tunic hoodie and a quilted vest. Both are perfect to achieve your comfy, but cute look.

2. JOGGERS! Love the feel of sweatpants, but don't appreciate the baggy, slumpy look it actually gives? Choose a pair of joggers for that super stylish comfort. These have been seen as a more multipurpose pant lately by stylists, that you can easily dress up and down. While you can take them from day to night, that amount of effort does not seem necessary for classes, but maybe later when you hit the local scene! Anyways, dress them up for class with a cute leather jacket and v-neck, or down with a simple baseball t-shirt.  

3. Your favorite pair of JEANS! Had them since high school? Thats ok, take advantage of them for days like these! They are probably your most worn-in jeans that have grown to be so comfy. Pair them with your favorite cold weather sweater for an effortless look. Or layer it up with a cardigan and simple shirt! With the weather changing so much, this outfit is the perfect transition wear that you can remove or add layers. If you're feeling a little fancy you can add a couple necklaces to give the outfit some extra sparkle!
