Degrassi are on top of their game with the relationships entering Season Five and Six. Regardless of how you feel towards Hunter's hesitance regarding Yael's gender (can Baaz, etc. stop quizing him over what this means for his sexuality and concentrate on looking after he and Yael instead ?), them and Saad/Lola communicate way better, more mature and are far healthier than the relationships seen on the show before now. *cough* Zaya *cough* Eclare *cough* Jankie *cough* Triles *cough* Drecky *cough* Fimogen *cough* I'm running out of ships.

Seriously, sitting through season after season of wlw who didn’t end up endgame for some assbackwards reason is so fucking tiring!!! i was thinking “might as well wait to see how they break up” but im so happy that wasn’t the case

Remember after DNC s1 when a bunch of people (including me) were convinced that Zig knocked up Zoe?

Remember after DNC s2 when everyone and their mother was flipping out because Lyle or Olivia had not been seen on set and we were convinced that Tristan was gonna die? (come to find out that they actually were very present on set and shot all the AMAZEBALLS stuff that was in s3/4)

the best thing about saad and lola is that lola isn’t actively seeking to make saad happy or save him or anything like that. lola just wants to be there for him without being forceful and there’s just a natural bond and joy that comes out of it, especially on saad’s end.

I haven’t seen the finale yet, but my demgirl friend agrees with me that IF EVERYONE WOULD’VE JUST NOT BOTHERED HUNTER ABOUT LABELING HIS SEXUAL ORIENTATION, HE WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN SO UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT YAEL AND COULD HAVE JUST BEEN WITH THEM WITHOUT WORRYING “what does this mean about ME?”

All this yessss but Degrassi pls don't make Baaz 'autistic' because he is often unlikeable, a nerd and has no filter ohmygoshhh. Degrassi has never had a female Autistic character. Female autistic characters are under-represented on TV in general PLUS usually go undiagnosed.

Some things I’d like to see in season 5 !!!IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED S4 I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT READING THIS AS MANY OF THESE IDEAS ARE BASED OFF OF S4 EVENTS!!!

-saad and Lola’s relationship (maybe her parents not approving because he’s Muslim????) -how other students react to saad after finding out esme called in the bomb threat

-how Yael and Hunter’s rocky friendship after their breakup affects the YouTube channel

-speaking of Yael -Yael becoming more comfortable with themself and their identity -also a coming out like to their parents??

-literally any rasha plot now that Zoe is gone -maybe her reconnecting with her family??

-now that Jonah and zig and Winston are all gone can Frankie get a plot that doesn’t make her look like a desperate spoiled rich brat?? -FR Frankie is currently so unlikeable and since it’s probable that she’ll be the female lead (://) she should get a plot where she’s not desperate and boy crazy -honestly I want Frankie to be boy-free -please

-even though I’m not a huge fan of shay (I find most of her plots boring and her character to me is just really bland), I really want to see if she does get scouted

-ESME GETS A MENTAL HEALTH STORYLINE!!!!WHERE SHE GETS HELP AND SUPPORT!!!! -seriously right now degrassi has an opportunity to build the best mental health storyline in their recent history they’d better not mess it up

-baaz gets a storyline that finally makes him likeable (wasn’t one of his head canons that he’s autistic?? That would be interesting)

-Vijay gets his own plot -maybe a plot about his music or vlogs getting hate?

-honestly I wouldn’t mind degrassi starting to do college storylines again?? Especially with maya and her issues and zig with his grade problems and how Zoe goes through college without her mom’s support and miles being a different country far away from all his friends and family

**might add more to this later but yeah these are some things I really want to see from season 5 as of now
