For this project I hope to base my theme on explorers and survival kits- relating to the task we did on Fair-trade and how where we live can in some ways  reflect our social encounters,fashion style,consumption and opinions.i would like to mainly focus in on the differences of rural and urban landscapes.

Stuart Robinson showcase

The Stuart Robinson exhibition at the Plymouth college of art gallery provided energy and light to the space.His work contrasted urban landscapes through contemporary sculptures-partial the work piece made from box structures and neon lights, brought attention to Plymouths city life through shadow and reflections. although the link had been made within Stuart's work this would not be obvious without the description.

Group/peer critique.

After looking at others work I have found it good to see what I need to do to improve,i had a lot of good feed back from my video supporting how i spent my day however my mind map I feel is my weakest element at the moment i feel that i should add in more detailed ideas or include drawings.

i was really inspired by others work,such as Becca’s whos artist response was really powerful through her use of colours and they way they clearly linked back to her day and the moodboards on fair-trade. when coming up with new ideas and developing work i will make sure to consider all the feedback my peers have given me to work to the best of my ability.

This morning when getting ready I didn’t think about where my £7 sale H&M jeans came from or who they where made by. They made me look and feel good. I feel as if this is a prime example of being one of many young people growing up in a more developed country today, not thinking about how the mass consumption of our clothes are made. Someone who works on a produce plantation such as growing cotton and separating coffee beans or someone who spends hours a day sewing beads on a top for your two pound bargain in Primark probably thinks about these factors a lot. Documenting a day in the life, one of my main things I did was go to work- I help out in a cafe by the sea and it’s about a 30 minute bus journey from where I live. In comparison to someone the same age who works in a sweatshop are lives are very different.

24 Hours/ A Day In The Life.

Recently I have  seen videos online of people recording one second clips everyday for a year,after watching these i was inspired and thought this would be a good way to document my day.When doing this i really tried to think and come up with filming things in an interesting response-hopefully i have achieved this by using different angle shots and trying to not make each scene repetitive.In terms of putting the whole thing together i just used an app on my phone as it was the quickest way for me given the time set. i would really like to explore this a bit more and try out different editing techniques on premier such as changing sound,having voice recordings and fitting scenes to colour gradients.In the next few weeks when we get involved in workshops hopefully i will be able to give this a go.
