I’ve seen a lot of hate for Cassie because of the 2026 TWP pub date, and I would like to tell y’all to CUT THAT OUT. That woman has fed us so many books that have changed our lives and touched us in our darkest moments. She deserves time to rest and enjoy her work just like everybody else. I want a TWP that she loves and feels good about, and that doesn’t happen in a day. Let’s be good eggs, ok?

I second that.I thought people were overreacting and overall being a lil entitled with the whole "she should've finished tsc first" bc not only did I love sword catcher, but I also prefer to wait and get a good series, when shes really into writing it, than having twp be a dumpster fire.Starting this brand new thing is too much tho.THe woman probably has adhd or something, what about wanting to do 743 different things and not finishing anything

I defend her every single decision, so I'M CERTAINLY not a hater, I've been promoting her books way more than her "promotion bloggers". But there's no way she'll complain about being too busy to write the books we've been waiting for years and then go: so I found a solution! I'll start a new series!

Completely disagree with the second statement. Swordcatcher is a great book and a promising start to a new series, you can see cc at her finest there, she poured her heart and soul into it and it shows.I don't want to read the books of an author who hates what they are doing and is writing just for the sake of meeting deadlines and entitled fans' demands. She very obviously just wanted get it over with and to be done with Tlh when she wrote chain of thorns and look how that turned out.vCapitalism warped people's minds into thinking that writers, and artists in general, should be expected to work and deliver with the immediacy and industriousness of machines, completely disregarding how that inherently goes against what writing is at its core.vThe results are, and will always be, horrific. Ai produces stories at one's beck and call and look what a soulless array of meaningless words strung together those are.

Look, I may be shocked that the release date of TWP is spring 2026 but at the end of day I think it‘s so important that Cassie takes her time with this. Because I want the plot to be complex, I want the characters to be on point and I want the book to be something we have all been waiting for. And that takes it‘s time. So, yes, I‘m okay with waiting another two years if that means I get to hold a book in my hand that fulfills all my expectations (which I know it will).

I actually see the point of those scenes.

the first James and Grace kiss is very early on in Chog and I remember james describing it being awful and how confused that made him feel. I also remember thinking if this twat (I was annoyed at him for dropping cordelia on the dancefloor don't judge me) is in love with that girl, why would the kiss be awful? Grace being so distressed immediately after and her reaction to cordelia made me think wait a damn minute something is cooking here

When she forced matthew to kiss her I was like I FUCKING KNEW IT.I already suspected Grace to have an uncanny seduction power of sorts and thought James to be under some kind of compulsion and that was my confirmation. I don't understand why CC changed her mind and decided to retcon that and make matthew forget it in choi tho.The whole point of the scene was so she could hold the kiss over his head and matthew wouldn't be able to stop her engagement to charles

when james and grace kiss at the Jordelia house is also important cause its part of James realizing that the person he really desires and loves is Cordelia

I genuinely don't remember the third kiss or its context, but honestly it would be odd if they didn't kiss at all, they were allegedly living a forbidden romance. Something that was grossly retconned in Chot and didn't make any sense was James saying he never desired grace at all. That is simply not true and it's a huge inconsistency. I vividly remember him being all horny in chog, thinking that he very much wanted more than kisses, but would never ask more of grace before they were married bc of propriety and Grace was innocent (Ha) and he was gentleman and bla bla bla.If anything, the bracelet made our guy desperate, and Grace kissed him once in a while to appease him.

that is not to say that coercing people into kissing you and taking someone's free will is by any means okay, but strictly from a narrative point of view I get the point of those scenes. And yeah chot was a debacle and many topics were fumbled

I know I always shit on Grace because of the SA scenes. But can talk about Cassandra Clare being a little FREAK for actually writing them?

Because those scenes have NO reason for existing. Why is Grace kissing James if he's already under her control? And we have to read not one, but THREE separate scenes of him being SAed? For what? What was the reason Cassie?

And the Matthew one!? She has Grace force him to kiss her, threaten to tell people that HE was the one who SA her! And then she makes him forget and it's never mentioned again. So it's not like it was important to the plot. Clare was just a freak who decided to include FOUR SA scenes in her YA series, apparently for shits and giggles!

At least when Sebastian did it in TMI it was obvious that we're meant hate him for it, and be disgusted. At least in those books it was treated with some respect. But in TLH? She gives the person who did it a redemption arc and doesn't even have the balls to write a proper confrontation or an apology.

I have A LOT of issues with Cassie but this one takes the cake.

It’s almost as if nobody wants to admit that they might not be prepared to do the work it takes to love somebody. And it can be laborious. To be intimate with someone who is flawed (which is the standard) requires us to expose our own flaws. We don’t talk about the heavy responsibility of that.
