Hello =) For the Science Ask, would you do 2, 11, 20, 21, 29 and 43 please?

2. What made you choose your major/field?Long story short, I was always fond of Medicine and badly be a medical doctor. When I was 16/17 my uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer and was chosen to be a part of new trial that was happening in his hospital at the time and saved his life. Knowing what his diagnosis was (precisely that this sort of cancer kills you in few months), I was astonished and extremely happy that times are changing and people like him are now given a chance. It also made me realise that there are heroes nobody hears about. My uncle and plenty of others are alive because someone sacrificed their life and passion to science. I decided to make this commitment too.11. Who's your favourite scientist?Call me predictable but Stephen Hawking. This guy shows you how much you can squeeze out of your life. No excuse for whining or not having dreams.20. What's the most “evil scientist” thing you can think of?Nothing really. :)21. If you had infinite funding, what your research would be about?Hm, nice question. Science is like 50% funding and 50% technology. You won't go far without addressing what your issue is first. I like 3D printing tho a lot. Think we could invest a bit more in organic polymers and perhaps start printing organs. I don't see much rationale behind growing them in the lab as more often than not these structures are way too complicated. Not to mention the requirements for growth factors and programming in general which is just painful. Printing solves it all. And can you imagine that instead of using plastic you can use collagen and other proteins? How cool and clever is that? 43. What are your short and long term career goals?Currently to get a good note for my yearly review and possibly rest for a bit in early autumn to recharge my batteries properly. Long term is to learn as much as I can, publish a paper or two and finish a PhD that will allow me to choose my post doc lab rather than being chosen by someone. I think it makes a whole difference. I'm also totally going to enrol business school before becoming a PI on day. Think people miss the bit that running a lab is pretty much running a business.
