GREENSWOOD AND ARKHAM LORE

GREENSWOOD:

Greenswood has trees. not normal trees, these ones seem to defy logic. the city is more green then grey, but only due to the trees that weave up and down, curling around buildings like Ivy. they cant be cut down, no matter how hard one tries. The wood is the strongest there is, and whoever succeeds in cutting it down is said to be taken away by the Monsters.

ARKHAM:

Arkham was named thanks to the madness in the city. It reminded the founder so much of the Lovecraftian books he so adored that he decided to name the city after the place where the storybook monster's lived. he wasn't completely wrong to name it that. One very well known case of something... beyond our human capabilities was back in the early 1930's... a detective had went missing under mysterious circumstances, and his body was soon found dead in an underground city off a few kilometers out of the town. it appeared to be a cult ritual, talking about madness, but the details are muddy. Arkham likes to pretend it was named after the place in Batman, though that connotation isn't much better.

DAISYTOWN LORE POST

Daisytown isn't bright. it isn't vibrant. in fact, it is quite grey. truly a concrete jungle, only bits of green and dead yellow where the grass peaked up between the concrete. The shadows seem to lengthen, and if you stare too long you may find something staring back. Eyes are carved into the lampposts and the residents of Daisytown often ignore the way they are Watched by them, the carved-out pupils moving along the pole to watch you as you walk. CCTV footage seems to be on every corner, and nobody knows why. they have the lowest crime rate on the Isle, so there shouldn't be any need, and yet the People are watched, their secrets exposed to some invisible being lurking in the shadows.

"Daisytown was a normal town. A Very normal town, if you ignored the monsters that creeped in the shadows and the haunting timelessness of the music and the devices in the town. It was located on an island that was just off the coast of Tasmania named OceanView Isle. The island was small, and often ignored on maps, but then again Tasmania was often ignored in the maps too. The Island had two main cities, and then Daisytown in between to separate them. Despite the name of the Town, Kathy rarely ever saw Daisies grow there. Perhaps in the past they grew abundantly, before the people settled and brought with them monsters."

OCEANVIEW ISLE LORE POST

Oceanview Isle was discovered in the early 1900's. why it wasn't found sooner is a mystery to everyone. some theorize that there was this mist obscuring the island from view, others say that the island had simply broken off of the mainland and so it didn't exist until then. some people theorize that the Monsters had kept the island hide, but the monsters didn't exist until the British brought them over.

the island itself, much like Daisytown, is grey. the grass is weak there and flowers hardly grow. weeds sprout easier and the buildings are all modern and industrial grey.

something about the island stops modern technology, so not many people want to head over there. Scientists say there is odd electromagnetic interference but no explanation has been publicly give. There are 2 main cities, Arkham (named after the madness that hangs like a fog over the city), and GreensWood (named after the many trees that grow that sickly green moss, planted there by something unknown many years ago).

Just realised I never posted these newer ref sheets for my OCs!!

My art style has changed a lot since I did the other ones and I wanted to redo them, but I also ended up redesigning them a little too hahah lol (shrimp posture, Help)

Me geeking over designs and oc lore down below:

Some designs I kept mostly the same, like 01 literally just changed the colour of her shirt. I changed her eye colour to be less of a gold and more of a brown too, I wanted Obie to be special with having golden eyes. (She also got a girlfriend!! That's what Clementine is here for!)

Fun fact about Moon is that she is actually my first OC ever, like the first one I've ever made, and in the 5 and a half years I've had her, this is the very first time I'm changing her design. The other one was good, but I'm so happy I changed it I like this so much better. I might still use the other one, she is a character who might dress very masculine at times, so yeah. Her head is still like a dice, just eyes instead of numbers!

Tyler has changed the most, outfit wise and lore wise. I wanted to age her down so she was the same age as the rest of the cast, so by doing that she went from cult leader, to weird stalker child? Idk I'm still figuring it out. (Yes, this is cult erasure, I'm sorry.) Before visually she was fully covered up skin wise, but because It's summer and I'm hot its reflected in the outfits I draw.

Elias has changed from his weird overalls I hated drawing to this funner hoodie and cropped turtlneck. Idk I just likes the look, and he's a little bit of a diva so i thought it'd fit. He also has a jellyfish cut now instead of the Wolf cut/mullet he had before.

Obie I wasn't too sure what to do with the shirt, I changes SO MUCH of his lore so now he is a government experiment? Kinda? Think 11 from Strangers Things but also not? Anyways bc I was drawing on a blue background and he has blue shoes and blue wings it was hard to figure out something that didn't clash with his whole thing. Yes, his wings are Catalina Mcaw wings. Personally, I'm not the fondest, I like scarlet macaw and culture crested cockatoos, but my brother LOVES the Catalina macaw so that's what Obie has.

Apollo has a belt and his shirt has sleeves. That's all that's changed.

OKOKOK so! Kathy! If you look at the colour of her turtleneck it's the same colour as Moon's choker, and the purple in her hair is the same vibrancy as the yellow from Moon's jumper, which is the same yellow in Kathy's socks!! All this is very intentional! Same with them both having the same style of jumper. Moon used to work for the Watchers, was basically like their pet/kid, and now that she has left, Kathy is theirs now bc she made a deal with them. They are basically giving her ideas or saying she'd look good wearing certain clothes or colours, because they liked Moon so much they're influencing Kathy to be more like Moon in a way. Isn't that fun!!

Clementine is pretty cool. I git her outfit from pintrest, she is not exactly the opposite to 01? They like the same things, but personalities sometimes clash. Anyways, I love them both.
