to take a breath and touch life. I read in a book this week that we shouldn’t focus so much on grabbing life by the throat, we should focus more on touching life instead. who wants to be grabbed by the throat, it lacks a softness that I think of as necessity. life should be touched. touched with light and warmth but also a certain kind of hard determination.

i love little kids with very niche interests. Like for awhile I nannied for a family who had a little girl who loved old black and white movies. She adopted a transatlantic accent, constantly wore a long string of plastic pearls, and would often dramatically drape herself over pieces of furniture when told to do something and say “I just can’t do it babe”
