My reaction about the news of another Mystery Case File game

So we are getting two new MCF games this year ahhhh! Get ready for another long one!

It's gonna be called House That Love Built! Oh, come on! That's a Ravenhearst game if I've ever heard one! That's literally what it says on the porch of Ravenhearst!

Here is the little bit of information we have on this game so far. It reads: Mystery Case Files: House That Love Built is the upcoming 28th game installment in the Mystery Case Files series, the eighth mainline, and the ninth total game to be developed by GrandMA Studios. The game further continues the Ravenhearst Saga in following up on the events of The Riddle of Mrs. Bishop. This game is currently in beta.

Then, the Official Synopsis says: GrandMA Studios proudly brings you the next mind-bending chapter in the Mystery Case Files saga! A sudden call from a missing friend brings hope to an anxious MCF agency, but the call comes with a dire warning. Angelica Morgan is back!

Okay, first of all... AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Second, what?! A sudden call from a missing friend... that's clearly Evelyn, but how?! Everyone else Angelica has body jumped has died because it's the only way Angelica can do it because only one soul can inhabit a body. We've known this since Ravenhearst Unlocked because of Ellen Hornebolt pushing the piece of Alister's soul of Tanatos, and we clearly know that everyone Angelica possessed died. So... how is she contacting the detective? Is it a trick? Is it yet another trap at Ravenhearst? Or is Evelyn somehow reaching out as a ghost or temporarily got her body back somehow?! So many questions! What is happening?! One thing is for sure... we're going to Ravenhearst... some version of it, at least. The current version of it is now the agency headquarters. Maybe there will be time travel craziness again, and it is a different version of Ravenhearst from another timeline, or maybe Angelica is causing problems at headquarters! There's so many possibilities!

There is more information on the Ravenhearst wiki about this game, but before we jump into that, I wanna talk about this!⬇️

Pardon my language, but fucking excuse me?! That's the Forever Home from Escape From Ravenhearst! Huh?! What?! How?! Why?! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

It's most definitely the Forever Home because that is the organ Charles was playing, Victor was dancing like an idiot next to him, and then up those stairs, Emma, Rose, Gwendolyn and Charlotte were hooked up to the machine after they were brought back to life! How does it even exist?! In the original timeline, it was burned down, and in this timeline, it doesn't even exist because Emma went back to the United States so Rose never had to come be her maid, so she and her daughters didn't get kidnapped, Charles was sent back to the asylum and Ravenhearst was never finished so it became agency headquarters! So what does this mean?! Is this something that exists in another timeline?! Is this proof about what I said about this involving some time travel nonsense again?! Holy AHHHHHHHHH!!!

That's not all! There's more details to note from this image! First, there are two ravens in this image. There's one on the left-hand side of the organ and one on the left side of the title. Interestingly enough, the raven on the title is also sitting on Emma's Locket. You can see the golden heart beneath it.

Speaking of Emma, there are at least three potentially four pictures of Emma in this room! There's one on the wall to the left of the organ. There's a second one on the floor in front of the organ that's quite large and obvious. There's a third one a little to the left of the second one.

The fourth one is not as obvious, and I may be wrong about it, but I believe there is a fourth one located to the left of the stairs on the wall! Is Emma gonna be featured in this, or is this referencing Evelyn because she is Emma's great-granddaughter and a dead ringer for Emma?! It could quite literally be either one, but with it being the Forever Home featured here, I'm leaning more towards Emma, but why and how?! Is it a time travel thing, or is Angelica pulling something?! Oh my God!

Now, there is a bit more information known that needs to be discussed regarding this game that was on the Ravenhearst wiki.

Let's go through this piece by piece.

First, it says:The game's title, House That Love Built, is an explicit reference to Ravenhearst Manor's motto engraved on its front porch entrance, first seen in Return To Ravenhearst.

This is what I said a bit ago but in a bit more detail. This is definitely gonna be a Ravenhearst centered game in some fashion.

Next it says: The game's logo features a raven and Emma's Locket.

Again, it is just reiterating what I said earlier. It really does make me wonder why they are featured, though. I really can't wait.

Then it says: This is the first game since Ravenhearst Unlocked ten years prior to feature a raven in the game icon.

A whole decade since the last game that featured a raven as the icon... man, this makes me feel old. Yes, there have been appearances by the Dalimars since then, but the point being made here is games that actually feature a raven as the icon hasn't been a thing again in ten years, so this is very possibly gonna be a major plot point in the Ravenhearst storyline because all of the ones before that had it, Ravenhearst, Return to Ravenhearst, Escape From Ravenhearst, Key To Ravenhearst and Ravenhearst Unlocked, you know all of the ones with the word Ravenhearst actually in their titles, had the biggest, most important plot points and overall storylines compared to the other games featuring the Dalimars. Yes, the other games featuring them had important plot points, but the most important ones were in those. I'm getting off track here. My point is... the raven is a big deal!

The next piece of information says: This game's beta was released only a few weeks after the beta of Fragments of Truth: An MCF Story released. Both betas were released before the latter was even fully released, marking the first time two MCF-related games' betas released before either one fully released. This is likely due to the case that Fragments of Truth is a spin-off, not a mainline game.

Very true. Fragments of Truth is a spin-off and House That Love Built is part of the main series. They're likely also releasing the betas at the same time because, despite being a spin-off, I bet you anything that Fragments of Truth and House That Love Built have connecting storylines since they both take place after Evelyn was body jacked by Angelica and they need the storyline to happen consecutively. They clearly won't be directly related because you're playing as two different detectives, rookie in Fragments of Truth and Master Detective in House That Love Built, but it is the same universe, same point in time so there will likely be some overlap or vague reference somewhere. It would be kinda cool if the rookie got a letter from the Master Detective or was trained by them in some fashion. That would be a nice way to tie them together so they won't feel so disjointed but we will see. Honestly, on another note, after 20 years, you'd think we'd get the Master Detective's name(rather than everyone just calling them Detective or Master Detective) or gender(since different pronouns have been used) or at least their appearance beyond just seeing their back or everything but their face from the front but no! I know it's meant to be "the Detective is you" or "the Detective is whoever you want them to be" but still. Answers are required here! Two decades and still nothing! Sigh... one can only hope. But my point is connecting the spin-off to the main game by having a letter from the Master Detective or the rookie was trained by them would be cool!

Last bit of information to glean from this wiki is the timelines. We have the whole Ravenhearst Saga and how it broken down into the eras. House That Love Built is the thirteenth game in the overall Ravenhearst Saga and the third game in the New Timeline Arc.

The whole Ravenhearst saga is as such:

Charles Arc: Ravenhearst, Madame Fate, Return to Ravenhearst and Escape From Ravenhearst

Alister Arc: Fate's Carnival, Dire Grove Sacred Grove, Key To Ravenhearst and Ravenhearst Unlocked

New Timeline Arc:The Dalimar Legacy, The Riddle of Mrs. Bishop and House That Love Built

I can't wait for more information to drop on this one! I'm pretty sure since the spin-off is dropping this summer, House That Love Built is gonna be dropping in November around Thanksgiving which is the usual for releases! I can't wait! Ahhhh!

So we got some new info about the MCF spin-off. I've already mentioned some of it but let's just go through everything we know, new and old so buckle up. It's gonna be a long one.

Here's our first bit of new information. The official synopsis! Oooo! It reads: Help a rookie MCF agent crack their first case in a shockingly surreal spin-off! A cryptic message from beyond unfolds in a tale of desperate obsession!

It continues with: Sooner or later, every detective gets their big break, but the stories of these case-cracking rookie heroes are seldom told... until now! With the head of the MCF missing, it's up to everyone in the agency to pick up the slack. So, when a high-profile case involving a former Prime Minister comes across the desk of an eager, bright new detective, it's the perfect chance to make a name for themselves!

Let's break this down, shall we? So we will not be playing as the Master Detective in this spin-off, but instead, we will be playing as a rookie detective. That's kinda exciting. Getting to see other people solving cases. Don't get me wrong. I love the MD, and I have even made an OC Master Detective, but seeing other detectives allows us to see how the rest of the agency operates. Oooo! I can't be the only one tempted to make an OC rookie now. It also seems that each of the games in this spin-off series will be a different rookie since it says heroes as in plural, which is exciting. Seeing multiple other detectives is a whole new perspective on the agency. I'm still tempted to make an OC, though, but we will see after the game is released.

Next, there's a bit about a cryptic message from beyond. Hello? What ghost is calling lol? This takes place after The Riddle of Mrs. Bishop, so who knows? Maybe it has to do with the whole Angelica thing because further down there is the detail that says 'With the head of the MCF missing...' That's referring to Evelyn, and she's missing because of her getting possessed by Angelica. Oooo!

The last bit from this synopsis that I wanna address is the part about the former Prime Minister. This is the first mention of any Prime Minsters in the series. I mean, clearly, there is a Prime Minister, but they've just never been mentioned before. I wonder who this former Prime Minster is, what happened to them, and if they'll play some bigger role. Only time will tell.

Let's go through this chunk of information. There is new and old information, so let's pick apart each bit, shall we?

The first bit of information was talked about in my previous post about this game, but let's talk about it again anyway. It reads: This is the first MCF spin-off in twelve years since the limited release of Mystery Case Files: Spirits of Blackpool in 2013.

That's a long time since a spin-off. MCF has been going strong since 2005, arguably with a few bumps in the road, but good nonetheless! That's 20 years! It's time for another spin-off! And this is more than just a one-time spin-off. It's gonna be a series. It's exciting for us hardcore fans!

The next bit of information is new, and it reads: This is the first MCF spin-off game to be published for PC/Mac.

This is what I like to hear! As a PC gamer, I love being able to actually play the spin-off for myself! I never got the chance to play the other ones, so this is awesome!

The third bit of information here is also a new one, and it reads: This is the first MCF spin-off game to not have the series title Mystery Case Files within the main game title. It abbreviates the series title to MCF for the spin-off series title 'An MCF Story' and uniquely has the spin-off series title be the subtitle for the game.

I wonder why they did it this way. Usually, they put the whole series title of 'Mystery Case Files', but this time, they abbreviated it, and usually, the individual game name is the subtitle for the games but they switched it this time. Weird choice, but whatever.

The next bit of information has been talked about before but I'll talk about it again. It says: An MCF Story is a new series separate from other standalone spin-off titles from Big Fish Games Studios. Therefore, Fragments of Truth is the first title under 'An MCF Story' Series.

This may be old news, but it is still really cool that we are gonna get a whole spin-off series! I can't wait!

The last bit of information, which is in a big chunk with a mix of old and new information, says: The game was first teased in an ad banner on Big Fish Games website promoting the Game Splash newsletter. The game's subtitle shared the same abbreviations "AMS" found in the image link of one of GrandMA Studios upcoming games on their website, connecting the spin-off with GrandMA Studios. GrandMA Studios later confirmed their involvement in a Facebook post. The official MCF page was soon updated to tease the game. The demo version of the game was then soon released.

Wow! This is a lot of information, old and new. Let's pick it apart.

The ad banner and image references would be these ones. The woman in the image looks like Mrs. Bishop and you can't tell me otherwise. She's even holding her arm the same way as in images of Mrs. Bishop! Oooo! Maybe this game will be in connection to her! Who knows?

GrandMA Studios confirmed their involvement in a Facebook post(not pictured) which is awesome. I can't wait for this game!

The official MCF page was updated to tease this game. There was an official synopsis on that page(pictured above) as well as a few other things that I will get to in just a moment. I am seriously so excited for this game!

Lastly, the demo was released. That's cool but I don't play demos/BETAs because that's just a tease. I did that once with The Last Resort and it got to a good part and then stopped so no more playing BETAs for me. I wait for the whole game to drop. I've seen people playing the BETAs on YouTube but not gonna watch them. No spoilers for me!

Now onto some new things that are pretty exciting that were also on the official MCF page along with the official synopsis.

First there's this which reads: Coming this summer! Fragments of Truth: An MCF Story Collector's Edition

It continues with: GrandMA Studios presents a brand-new spin-off of the Mystery Case Files series, highlighting the agency's unsung heroes!

The official synopsis is on the page beneath this but OH MY GOD!!! THIS SUMMER!!! AHHHHH!!! That's any time in the next few months! Holy ahhhhh! I can't wait! But that's not all! Teaser images!

This is the first teaser image. This looks like some kind of lab. There are beakers and vials and instruments. And off to the right is something green and glowing. Green energy maybe?! Hello?!🫢

Second teaser image is this. It is a silhouette hidden object in what looks to be a library or storage room of some kind. I'm not a super big fan of silhouette hidden objects but I am a fan of this room. It looks so good!

Third teaser image is this puzzle with bugs. It looks kinda cool but I'm not fan of bugs so also kinda creepy to me. Can't wait to solve it though!

The fourth teaser image is another puzzle. This one looks to feature a zoo I think because it says the word zoo to the right and there is a zebra and a ticket booth and a tent. The tent gives circus or carnival vibes though. Fate's Carnival! Nah! Jk... but what if?!🤔

The fifth and final teaser image is yet another silhouette hidden object. This one features a painting of a woman leaning against an old car. Maybe the woman is that other woman when she was younger. She still looks like Mrs. Bishop to me! Ahhh!

That's all of the information we have for the spin-off for now! We don't have an actual official release date yet, just this summer. Eeeeee! I can't wait!!!

Looking at the Ravenhearst wiki, you can find this page. Not much is known about the game yet, but what is known is this:

"Fragments of Truth:An MCF Story is upcoming spin-off game in the Mystery Case Files series, presumably developed by GrandMA Studios."

This is the first MCF spin-off in twelve years since the limited release of Mystery Case Files:Spirits of Blackpool in 2013.

The game was first teased in an ad banner on Big Fish Games' website, promoting the Game Splash newsletter. The game's subtitle shared the same abbreviations "AMS" found in an image link of one of GrandMA Studios' upcoming games on their website, connecting the spin-off with GrandMA Studios.

An MCF Story is a new series separate from other standalone spin-off titles from Big Fish Games Studios. Therefore, Fragments of Truth is the first title under An MCF Story Series.

It's expected to drop this year according to this! Ahhh! Let's break down what this gives us.

This is indeed the first spin-off we've gotten since Spirits of Blackpool, which was a limited time game for iOS only back in 2013, and it has since been removed from the App Store. I never got the chance to play it, so I can't really say much about it but this is so cool that we are getting a new spin-off after this long and not just a single standalone spin-off like other spin-offs we've gotten before but a series!

The second bit of information refers to this image that can be found on the GrandMA Studios website. Is it just me, or does she look like Agnes Bishop?! I'm just crazy right?!

Last tidbit of information mentions that Fragments of Truth will be the first game in the An MCF Story Series. A series! A spin-off series!

Nothing else is known about this yet since GrandMA Studios just mentioned it today, so I'm wondering where this is gonna go! Will the spin-off tie into the main series at all, or will it its own thing?! The picture of the woman, at least to me, eludes to something involving Agnes Bishop since she looks like her! Ahhh! I need more information!!!!

I have a few theories from what little bit we know. I think we may find out more about Angelica and her time possessing Agnes Bishop and maybe more about her connection to Charles. I think we may also find out more about this new timeline we are in and what other timelines are out there, possibly even the one involving that "fanart" GrandMA Studios posted. But that's just wishful thinking, and I could be way off. Only time will tell. Weeeeee!!!!
