For what reason did Sukuna get worshipped as a deity, that too by nobles, and why did Sukuna even accept the noble offer to be a performative deity? I never thought that someone like Sukuna would play political games.

I like Uro's design and character. She fit into her role in JJK and made the Heian period more interesting. She, Yorozu, Angel and Sukuna made me want to see an entire Heian arc, and I'm not alone in thinking that we could (should?) have gotten one. There are still so many unanswered questions.

About Sukuna being worshipped and blessing crops: I wouldn't use the term "politics" or "playing politics" for that. That's straight up religion. Sukuna became such a powerful sorcerer that he was worshipped for it, in whatever mix of Buddhism and Shintoism that falls under. And Sukuna isn't an atheist.

In my opinion, Sukuna accepted the worship as part of his ascension and power. It would fit right into his spirituality/his ego of domination. Giving blessings like a god is part of that. Though I don't see Sukuna arranging all of that on his own or expending any energy towards others peacefully.

I'm pretty sure it was Uraume who organized events like that to have Sukuna worshipped. The playing politics part comes from the Fujiwara as this happened after their elite sorcerers (including Uro) were all killed and defeated by Sukuna. They try to keep peace with him.

But also... Sukuna is not a happy man during this. It gets lost in these chapters because Yorozu is a bit crazy but she's absolutely right with her very first impression of him: Sukuna is a lonely man, even with Uraume at his side.

As we later learn, Sukuna was hated by his society from the moment he was born, and he hated them back with all his being. This entire blessing ceremony, while he isn't against it, is not something that brings him joy.
