So far in LA an Australian news reporter has been shot in the leg by a rubber bullet, a British reporter has been shot by a sponge bullet and sent to the hospital for emergency surgery. A NY Post reporter has been shot in the head with a rubber bullet and went to the hospital for a large bruise on his forehead, whiplash and neck pain, and CNN reporters were handcuffed and escorted away being told to not come back or they will be arrested BECAUSE they are reporters.

It seems like all reporters there to give the real story are being targeted by police/ICE/military in LA.

honestly, i think the idea that you can gauge someones privilege based on only one aspect of their identity is inherently flawed the more we as trans men speak up about our relationship to male privilege

boiling trans men down to just men to justify calling them privileged and completely ignoring other facets such as being transgender or being neurotypical/neurodivergent/disabled/abled or whether he comes from a wealthy/middle class/poor family, etc is overly simplifying it to the point where it loses its meaning, and even then we need to also define if people are assuming someone is privileged only socially (as with things like job searching or being taken seriously by other people) or if someone is privileged structurally (as with having access to and receiving proper medical care)

all this to say: we need to fundamentally reshape our understanding of privilege not based off only one part of ones identity, especially keeping in mind trans, nonbinary, intersex, white-passing mixed race people, and everyone else whose identity cannot be boiled down to simply one characteristic among many that they possess

I figured it would happen sooner or later, thanks for the heads up.

Reminder to people that follow me that the people who run shinigami eyes are anti-transmasculine, intersexist and exorsexist and the people of these groups get marked red for advocating for themselves as a silencing tactic. It is actively being used as a tool to sow mistrust towards what they perceive as the "wrong kind" of queer people.

I'll probably make a real post about it later giving sources as to why that is but if you look at their guidelines it's pretty apparent what their views are.
