some of my favorite agents of shield fun facts (season 1 edition)

- while filming the scene where skye gets sh*t by ian quinn in 1x13 [T.R.A.C.K.S], they took hours to film not only because the scene was so intense, but because there was a christmas parade happening nearby that was so loud it kept interrupting the shot.

- another shot interruption occurred in 1x16 when filming scenes at the race track. they couldn’t shut down the track entirely during filming so halfway through a scene a horse would charge past in the background and they would have to reshoot the scene.

- chloe had such a bad driving reputation back in season one that she was banned from driving all golf carts on the lot. she also accidentally stalled a car while rehearsing a scene and everyone panicked.

- they only had 15 days to film 1x01. FIFTEEN DAYS TO FILM EVERYTHING.

- in the end of episode 1x12 [Seeds], there’s a moment where coulson is voicing over and says “the world is full of evil and lies.” during this moment, the camera is on ward. this is one of the first main references of ward secretly being hydra.

- there were three-ish main sets for backgrounds during season one. set 16 was their “labyrinth set” with random sets like the abandoned race track, parts of Providence, john Garrett’s “layer” and a small set for the Freezer.

- clark gregg was so adamant about the casting for the cellist that he actually called audrey nathan personally and told her she was perfect for the role.

- on the day the cast was to meet to discuss filming the last two episodes of the season, a 4.4 earthquake hit los angles which the cast though was foreshadowing the darker episodes to come.

- to represent coulson coming back after what happened to him during the avengers, the wardrobe department tailored his suits differently to give coulson a “new feel”. they really said “let’s mix this shit up and give him a slicker [yes, that’s the word they used] suit.”

- also, coulson never wears black suits after his death due to loki. he only wears shades of grey, never plain black as it reminds him of death.

- the only direction the wardrobe department was given on ward’s outfits was that he needed to look sexy. that’s it.

- as the season progresses, skye wears darker clothes to represent her loss of innocence as the situations get darker.

should i do one for season 2? this was fun and i was bored :)

Minvember 2023 - Day 1

Self Delusion

It was the most painful thing she had ever experienced in her life.

She kept seeing them. Fleetingly, almost inadvertently, but they were there, she knew they were there. Watching her. Or perhaps… watching over her.

One time, she thought she had heard them laughing. Nonsense, she had snapped mentally at herself, of course they weren’t. They couldn’t laugh anymore. It had been well over two decades since everything had happened, they were gone, she knew so. She understood.

And yet…

One wrong turn and the opening of an odd door had made her stumble across that mirror. She thought Dumbledore had gotten rid of it ages ago, yet, somehow, it was there, in front of her.

And there they were, too. Looking at her as if nothing had ever happened. And not just the pair of them, but all of them.

Now not only did they follow her around the school, tricking her mind into believing that small imprints of their actions had been residually left behind in the world of the living; she had find a marvelous… wonderful… incredible—dangerous, of course it was dangerous—yet still incredible way to remember them. To watch them.

Sadly, they only smiled at her tonight.

Y solo hay dos episodios/shows por año

That OUAT post i reblogged the other day got me thinking about it again, and I'm watching a reactor watch the series and man.

It really makes you think about that dichotomy between men and women in fiction. Because people hate Regina (in the beginning) so fiercely, but they're so quick to latch on to Rumple and his "nuance", even after learning Regina's motivations.

Somehow Regina's motives aren't good enough, but Rumple's are?And if I'm remembering my ouat correctly (and I'm probably not because I basically haven't watched this show since it aired and I never finished it) doesn't Rumple turn out to be more "evil" than Regina? Or more often the bad guy? Which shouldn't even actually factor, but

It just made me think, because the reactor likes Rumple, but hates Regina. And even every time Regina shows remorse, or love, or her softer caring side, they scoff at it. Meanwhile Rumple has a moment with Belle and its all "awwws" and soft sighs.

Anyway I think both characters are fantastic. Regina though is straight up my character archetype so I'm also p biased, ngl.

onto 1x03!

1. we’ve got some signs at the diner that tell us granny sells eggs benedict for $3.25, tomato salad for $1.25, and a desert special for $1.25. this is obviously meant to show that granny’s, like everything else in storybrooke, is stuck in 1983, the year the curse was cast

2. I’m not sure if we ever see it like this again but I love how scuffed up the storybook is here. it really shows that henry’s been reading and carrying this thing around

3. I kind of love that Snow has a designated jar for cinnamon sticks

4. some green apples in Snow’s apartment, as well as what I’m fairly certain is artwork from her students on the fridge

5. this is very obvious, but I love this shot of the bowl of apples in focus and the heart box on the desk and Regina herself being out of focus (also I’m pretty sure that bowl stays throughout much of the show, even though the office as a whole does go through some changes)

6. a little bird statue on Snow’s nightstand and some trees on the wall. also that blue pillow next to her has a bird on it—there are so many good little nods to their EF counterparts throughout this season

7. and we’ve got another little shot of that page with the monkeys from the wizard of oz

8. the jukebox, which we find out that wand is hiding under in s6. the only reason I’m pointing it out now is because I’m pretty sure it actually comes and goes? like I think there are candy machines in that spot in some future episodes, and in s1 and in an episode of s3, it’s a dart board

9. I feel like I shouldn’t even point this one out because it is sooooo obvious, but I’ve always loved how the toll bridge has that little r, like who did that? was it always like this? or did someone put that r there during the curse?

10. also there are a lot fewer clocks in this episode, probably because the curse starting to weaken a bit, but we have some and this one above Regina’s head here is my favorite. this is right after Kathryn and David are reunited so the way we focus in and out on Snow and Regina here with the clock directly above Regina—A+
