backstory;

damiano was born on january 8th, 254 BCE in rome. his father is killed in the first punic war when damiano was just a child. his mother passed away after giving birth to damiano. damiano and his older brother jacopo lived by themselves on the streets of rome and stole to survive. when damiano was 22 years old, him and his brother got caught stealing and put into slavery. the two brothers were separated but under the same family of masters so damiano was determined to see if his brother was okay. he was caught and sentenced to death by crucifixion. damiano begged to let his owner spare him and have him fight as a gladiator. his owner was tied into dark magic and beings and had actually became a vampire through curses he had accidentally gotten himself into. as damiano was dying, his owner got a brilliant idea to turn damiano and train him to be a murmillo gladiator. damiano was saved but then cursed with the fact that he was now a vampire too. damiano’s vampiric abilities include:

incredible strength, endurance, and agility (especially after consuming blood)

when hunting, he can hear and visualize the blood in the prey’s body

immunity to anything and everything

can convert others into being a vampire by having them ingest his blood

immortality, inability to age

can see well in the dark

the ability to manipulate the minds of others through hypnosis

he would then fight for a couple years in the colosseum before being freed by his owner in exchange for fighting as a gladiator and making his owner more money. damiano’s owner let damiano feed on the dead gladiators he had killed. after that, damiano started his new life as a body guard for the statesman quintus fabius maximus verrucosus. the following is a timeline of the rest of damiano’s life:

196 BCE: moves to athens, greece and gets into music

149 BCE: goes back to rome and fights in the third punic war to honor his family

121 BCE: moves to provence, france

63 BCE: moves to jerusalem, isreal

30 BCE: moves to alexandria, egypt

20 BCE: moves to cologne, germany

64 AD: moves back to rome after a tragic fire occurs

150 AD: moves to london, england

210 AD: moves to the remote country outside london and learns to hunt animals instead of humans

330 AD: moves to istanbul, turkey

410 AD: moves back to rome to fight off intruders

between these times, damiano is moving around italy to pursue music

950 AD: decides to go to medical school in salerno, italy

951 AD: starts getting back into hunting humans again

955 AD: moves to northern italy in a remote area to get back into hunting animals

1320 AD: moves to florence, italy to get into banking

1406 AD: moves to pisa, italy

1495 AD: moves to naples, italy to help fight off intruders

1508 AD: moves back to rome to pursue painting

1600 AD: during this time opera becomes popular and damiano pursues that

1637 AD: moves to venice, italy to pursue his music career

1698 AD: moves back to florence to learn the new instrument called the piano

1700 AD: moves back to rome and spends his years enjoying music and theatre

1911 AD: moves to tripoli, libya

1915 AD: moves back to italy to fight in WW1

1936 AD: moves to london after finding out italy is becoming allies with nazi germany

1943 AD: moves back to rome after italy sides with the allies

has stayed in rome ever since
