JAMB 2024 Registration Guide - How to Register for UTME and Direct Entry Exams
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has released new guidelines that will significantly affect how candidates register and write the UTME or Direct Entry exam. Candidates are advised to follow these guidelines to avoid any unnecessary issues or delays. It is also important to check the accuracy of their profile data to ensure that the JAMB system does not make mistakes or error during the registration process.
To register for the UTME or DE, the first step is to create a profile code. This code is a unique 10-digit number that will be used to identify a candidate and all future communication with the JAMB. This number must be entered in the registration form, and it will be used to purchase e-PINs from authorized vendors. The e-PIN will be sent to the candidate’s mobile phone via text message, and it will also serve as an authentication tool for thumb printing at JAMB-accredited CBT centres.
During the registration process, it is important to select the correct subject combination that will best suit your course and school of choice. This will help you score higher and have a better chance of getting into your preferred institution. To choose the right subjects, you should consider your personal goals and career aspirations. You should also consider your ability to learn and perform the chosen courses. Choosing the wrong subjects can be very detrimental to your chances of success.
Candidates are also urged to visit the JAMB website for any additional information about the exam, including important dates and requirements. The JAMB exam will be held from 29th April to 12th May 2024 in two sessions, morning and afternoon. JAMB will assign each candidate a specific date, time, and center for the exam. The exam slip, which contains all these details, can be printed from the JAMB portal or sent to candidates’ email addresses.
Lastly, candidates are warned against sharing their profile codes with others. JAMB is committed to providing seamless services and will not tolerate any form of extortion or other untoward acts that could jeopardize this goal. The board has already suspended the Total Child Computer and CBT Centre (TCCC), in Abuja, from the ongoing UTME registration exercise for violating this directive. It is also important to note that JAMB will not refund any money to any candidate who has paid for the e-PIN but was unable to complete their registration due to technical challenges or other reasons. The board is working hard to improve the quality of the registration experience and hopes to resolve any problems as quickly as possible.
