Maldives

One week in heaven- all you need to know
Important information
Dry season: November-April
Suggested travel duration: 1 week
It is prohibited to bring Alcoholic drinks to the Maldives (don’t worry, there is plenty of alcohol in the resorts)
If you are pregnant or planning on having a baby soon, be aware that Zika virus is still active in this area
Few general important tips
The Maldives are not a cheap destination; there are many expenses that you need to take into consideration
1) Try to book in advance as much as you can, you can find "secret deals" up to 70% off!
2) If you wish to save some money, it is possible to book different room types during the week of your stay for example, you can book 3 nights at the "beach villa" room (which is usually less expensive) and 3 nights at the "overwater villa" room that is more expensive (strongly suggest not to skip the overwater villa)
3) Choose a resort that matches your budget! The last thing you want to do is to check prices all the time and not being able to enjoy the resort facilities and activities
4) Choose a resort with an "all inclusive" package option
5) I strongly suggest booking the "all inclusive" packages that the resorts are offering, that way you can really enjoy and relax without thinking about anything else and it is much more cost effective
6) Check transportation timing and fees in accordance to your flight schedule. fees can reach up to hundreds of dollars (depends if speedboat/water plane/airplane) and the timing is very important since sometimes it will require you to wait half a day for transportation
7) Choose a resort that has a variety of restaurants, that way you won't get bored after a week
8) After choosing your favorite resort, check restaurants, Spa & activities menu prices so you can plan an affordable yet fun, spoiled and relaxing vacation
9) Bring USD with you, this is the common currency in the resorts (except the local currency)
10) Bring at least 2 bottles of sunscreen with you since the ones in the resorts are really expensive
11) Don’t forget to bring a sun hat
12) If you have a Gopro/Drone- this is the perfect destination to use them (just check if drones are allowed in the resort)
AYADA MALDIVES
Where: 1 hour flight from Male to a local airport and then 40 minutes by a speedboat to the resort (it is a bit far but once you arrive you forget everything)
When: dry season starts from November to April (but you can travel all year)
What: Ayada is a beautiful resort in the Maldives, a private island surrounded by super clear water, an infinity pool overlooking the white sandy beach, 6 (!) restaurants and 2 bars , a spectacular spa, gym and many more! The overwater villas are just breathtaking with a beautiful private swimming pool overlooking the clear ocean, staff is very welcoming, kind and helpful, and food is really great. There are many activities, some of them are for free (a movie night, carnival day, shark feeding, and kayaks) and many more activities such as excursions, surfing, diving, snorkeling etc. The moto in Ayada is "don’t worry about anything" and once you get there you can immidiately feel it, they want your vacation to be perfect and they will make all the arrangements for you
How Much: depends on room type and package type, I suggest to book in advance to find some secret deals
Tripperit Tip: book in advance the Crystal package (includes food& drinks& alcohol), there are only 3 restaurants included in the package ("MAGU" for breakfast and dinner, "Zero Degree" and" Ocean Breeze" for lunch), for the restaurants that are not included you getting 50% off their menu and I really suggest you to try all of them! The Teppanyaki restaurant "MIZU" is at a full price but this is definitely the best restaurant (food and vibe wise)
AYSPA- the spa is expensive but a hell of experience, don’t miss it!
Lucky dolphin& snorkeling trip- the trip was so good that I went twice! saw dolphins (twice) and snorkeled around a breathtaking sandbox that made me want to come back again
Overwater villa snorkeling – went almost every day in the morning when its low tide to snorkel outside the villa, spotted so many fish, turtles, baby sharks and catfish, a truly great experience.

Day 3- Day trip to Capri
As I wrote in the first Tripperit Tip, I highly recommend taking a private tour to Capri; we went with Nello, The owner of our hotel that took us with his private speedboat to Capri, Nello took us to all of the attractions around the island (all the caves and beaches) and gave us some free time for lunch/shopping. The best part of our private tour was the blue grotto, apparently after 5:30 pm you can arrive with your own boat, jump into the water and swim inside the blue grotto which was an unforgettable moment! (beware that officially it is not allowed however all the locals do it)

Day 4 - Goodbye beautiful Sorrento
We decided to spend our last morning in Sorrento beach which was so beautiful and fun! You have to take the elevator down to the beach which costs 2 euros per person for both ways, then to pay for sun bed which costs 16 euros per person
After few hours at the beach we left Sorrento and headed to our next destination (the luxurious part of the trip) which took us around 1.5 hours drive

How Much: $$$$
Tripperit Tip: if you are traveling for 4 nights with a budget, try to combine 1 night in a luxury hotel and the rest of the nights in a low budget hotel, that way you can enjoy both experiences and still be able to afford it

Dana Tikotsky, Tel Aviv
Just a small intro…
Hi everyone, I’m Dana !
First of all, I want you to feel at home while reading my blog, it was made especially for people like you who want every trip to be unforgettable, even if it is only for a weekend, it doesn’t matter, it’s all about exploring and experiencing as much as you can!
I didn’t dedicate my whole life for traveling, I’m a normal person with a normal job and not a sexy one, I’m an insurance broker working in my family’s business.
This blog is dedicated to the working class heroes working 9 to 5 in a mundane world.
I love traveling! anytime, anywhere, spontaneously or planned- I’ll take’em all! that's my fuel, my passion and what makes me happy. I believe in investing in experiences, eventually, that's all we’re gonna remember.
In the past 4 years, I’ve logged many trips, about every month or two. I love meeting locals and find out all the “hidden” spots.
My friends always ask me for tips and about my favorite places before they take their trips, and that's how "Tripperit" was born.
In my trips, I am having such a great time that I really want to share it with my friends. With “Tripperit” I hope to share it with the world.
Now it's your time to explore and enjoy :)
**Warning- traveling may become an addiction
