Art that I made for @getlost0p (uploaded from a previous side account stranger-ships-set-sail). Drawn in Procreate.
Transfem Steve Harrington as a disney princess. I reached out to @getlost0p and expressed how much I loved how they drew Steve and I asked if I could draw her. I showed them my progress sketches and they gave me their input and which color dress they liked. Elements of the dress, the bow, and the accessories are all based on a few princess from different disney movies. I also gave Stevie a little red bird friend as well; let's call her Robin.

to everyone who misses bill finn, whether you see this years in the future or just in a few minutes, i'd like to direct you to a song of his (two actually):
Heart and Music from A New Brain
a new brain is autobiographical, written while bill finn was in the hospital a few years after falsettos won its tony in 1992. he was in the hospital because of a brain issue (the same one the main character, gordon, has) and he and james lapine continued to create the music after bill finn was released from the hospital.
both heart and music and its follow up, time and music, are about surviving and how music helps keep people alive.
they are absolutely beautiful, and i believe they, along with the rest of the musical, are what he would have wanted to be his impact to us all.
take a listen, or a watch if you find yourself needing it.

I want old aros so badly. I want a history. I want a future. I want tales of lives that I understand. I want to see myself in a future where I’m happy and comfortable.
But I don’t have that, so I’ll have to build it.

Listen.
EVERYBODY knows (or should) that you DO. NOT. STOP. in Vidor, Texas.
It’s best to just run out of gas elsewhere. Whatever you do, black folks, DO NOT STOP IN VIDOR, TEXAS.
There’s a good chance you’ll get lynched or just come up missing - and I’m not joking.
also do NOT stop in Harrison, Arkansas!!!! (relatively close to OK and MI) a nazi town with a BIG KKK organization.

If you choose other it's gotta be along the lines, like that game where you have to paint a map and the same color can't touch, don't come to my house all like "uhhh i played pinball"
Also there's no "none of these" option bc if you didn't become obsessed at some point with a kinda nerdy easily addictive offline game that will suck your soul until you can't think about anything else but the game for weeks then you are a fucking pussy and I don't respect you

this made me want to rewatch falsettos damn
thinking about whizzer and relationships right now...
cause he definitely loves marvin in act 1 but he doesn't want to/is in denial of it and instead he screws other people cause he can and will.
he says that he values sex and money above everything and constantly degrades his relationship with marvin to those two ideas.
i think whizzer never kept himself monogamous because he was scared of their relationship being more than just sex and money, of there being devotion involved. he didn't realize that he wanted a true relationship with marvin (or at all) until it was too late. that love was the music in the games i play.
then in act 2 there is such an overwhelming feeling of devotion between the two and they love each other so so much it's palpable every time they're on stage together.
hell, in what more can i say? they are physically together, and after hearing whizzers speeches about sex and money in act 1, something between them has changed at its core so they can be physically intimate without the sex (even if its still heavily implied its not the sex of act 1)
the biggest part of whizzer's character though is how he is cared for. he lets himself finally be cared for by marvin (and eventually the company) despite being avoidant of the caring nature of relationships for all of act 1 and much of act 2 as well (ex: his lines in the baseball game, racquetball whizzer pushes marvin away, not admitting he was exhausted in more racquetball)
honestly, marvins admission of "all i want is you" during more racquetball and whizzer's bone-deep physical exhaustion must be when he finally gives into being cared for and adored as much as marvin wants to care and adore him (which is a lot)
and just. what would i do? i don't need to get into that song, it says it all itself.
