Welcome to Earth 616.5!

Marvel fan? Itching to write your favorite characters in a more collaborative setting than 1x1s? Want to try a new character on for size? Trying to find writers closer in age to you? Earth-616.5 might be the right fit for you.

Earth-616.5 is an LGBTQIA+ friendly, mature (25+), relaxed/casual, free-form/prose based RPG server on Discord. A midway point between Earth-616 (the Marvel Comics main continuity) and Earth-199999 (the Marvel Cinematic Universe—post-Black Panther, pre-Infinity War), the characters who inhabit this world are a mix of both their comic book pasts and their on-screen exploits. Their backgrounds, headcanons, and unique characteristics in this world are up to the writer to choose. The idea is to collaborate with other writers on a case-by-case basis to come up with the best version of the character, as the writer sees fit, and then just have fun with it.

Our ideal member is:

- any adult over the age of 25;

- can write at least two literate paragraphs;

- understands the syntax, conventions, and rules of English; 

- understands that role-play is about having fun, stretching those literary muscles, and getting to discuss (geek out about) some of these characters that we know and love;

- will be moderately active (15 texts/3 paragraphs x week);

- isn’t racist, homophobic, transphobic, or ableist;

- understands boundaries and that the versions of character who may be present at our may or may not be ‘your’ version;

- not going to take any of this too seriously. :0)

We (Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, aka your moderator team) are a brand new group with very few characters, waiting for the rest of our teammates to join up. We have some loose ideas for plot in the future, if the game grows large enough, but for now, we just want to explore some connections between these characters. Overwatch is doing his event where you can buy a pink mercy skin and the proceeds go to an actually scored well breast cancer research fund, so I bought it because it’s a cute skin for a good cause and it seem to be handled well.

First match in the new skin, ally Hanzo keeps thanking me over and over and I kinda just assume he’s trying to butter me up to get me to pocket him but half way through the match, this young voice comes on over voice chat and he starts talking about how his mom has breast cancer and how nice all of the pink Mercys make him feel and how he’s going to show her later. I almost flew into the canals of Rialto because I couldn’t see through my tears 😭
