Yugi’s mind went blank when he tried to think of where they could go drink. He wondered what Anzu would enjoy more. “Do you prefer our regular hangout, or something new?”

Purple eyes glanced down at Anzu’s hand, which he was still holding. He liked doing this, but was worried he was holding too long perhaps. The boy was really not prepared for an actual date at all, would it be even seen as one?

As long as Anzu had a great time, Yugi would be happy too.

❝Something new?❞

Anzu blinked, his suggestion surprised her a little bit. Something new? Whatever was he thinking of? It had her questioning what he had in mind, especially with... What they were doing. Her eyes diverting down to their hands, her cheeks began to blush faintly - the thought of what this ‘something new’ could be. A date, perhaps?

❝W - Whatever do you mean, Yugi? Did... You have something else in mind?❞

Yugi had finally gathered his courage and made his move. His cheeks flushed a rosy red out of shyness. But he heard no response. There was silence. Was he cliche? Too forward? He worried if Anzu hated the approach, hate him for doing it or hate his possibly clammy hand. Was it really clammy? Was his grip too tight? Too loose?

Anzu’s grip tightened! And a smile! That was a good sign, right? Right?

Yugi stammered a little. “So uhm… I was wondering if you’d like a drink. W… with me. Somewhere. Anywhere you like!”

He held his breath afterwards. His lips pressed together. Some words had come out squeaky. What a terrible moment for his voice to crack. He already seemed like a child! Not as suave and brave like the pharaoh. Purple eyes glanced at Anzu, waiting for her response.

Anzu couldn’t help but smile at him. She wasn’t silent because it was bad or anything, far from it! She was shocked that he would even be as brave to do such a thing. Then again, Yugi was always quite brave. With or without Atem by his side.

❝Of course, Yugi! Why didn’t you just say so, huh? I’ll happily go for a drink with you.❞

Her blue hues gazed down at him, still smiling. A brave boy, asking her to go for a drink with him. Like... A date? Would it even be considered as one of those? Who knows - but she liked the idea of it.
