Anyway, on my hands and knees for inexperienced Kaiba who's never kissed or had sex ever in his life just needing Atem so bad. He wants that pharaoh like his life depends on it BUT, AND THIS IS CRUCIAL, he doesn't realize what the fuck he's feeling at first. This is gonna take years of them running around each other for anything to happen, but when it does happen... they're such fucking perverts over each other that it's concerning. Everyone is so tired of being around the two of them together because the tension is so insane that either one of them are so fucking close to snapping at any second-

The thing about Age Swap AU that I really like is the fact that both Mob and Reigen are inherently so much more unstable.

On Reigen's end, most of it is from the fact that he's a kid—he doesn't have the same amount of emotional intelligence because he has less experience overall, and the fact that his relationship with his parents isn't,,,,great, even in a canon setting. A boy still mucking around in the trenches of parental abuse/neglect is always going to be more rickety emotionally and mentally than a grown man who's been given years to heal and distance himself from it.

And then there's Mob. Mob is a bit more a wild card in this area, just because without Reigen his childhood is more or less an unknown. Did Mogami find him? Would it have made him crueller if Mogami mentored him instead? What about Claw? Did they take him in? Is he still with them, did they fall, does he regret it? Is he jaded or riddled with guilt or stuffed so far back in his shell that it takes a little blond boy wielding a huge emotional and verbal hammer to start breaking through it? Either way, I definitely don't see him being as emotionally stable as canon Mob. He likely hasn't reconciled with Shigeo, he probably never truly accepted his powers, and thus has the emotional maturity of a ten year old—Reigen still beats him on this. Mob's only point of positive advice would've been Ritsu, and that's....I mean, it's Ritsu. He hasn't had any significant good influences in his life so he absolutely struggles on how to be one himself.

The potential for these two to be codependent is SO much higher and I love it. Unhealthy dynamics are my absolute JAM (one of the reasons I have this animatic rotating in my head at top speeds 24/7 365) so the inherent prickliness of whatever Wrongness™ these two have going on just. has me. Reigen clings because it's all he knows how to do—even if Mob banishes him from the office, he's a persistent kid that hasn't learned you shouldn't chase after moody grown men with emotions so repressed it manifests as a literal eldritch alter with no morals to curb its desires. And Mob has had to go even longer alone in this sort of universe than ever, and Reigen is likely the only person who's never been afraid of him; he's latching onto that kid like bear trap and never letting go. He's still tenderhearted, but it's plagued with years and years of loneliness and inner turmoil that he's had no one around to soothe; he's over a decade too late for 'healthy'. Not that Reigen minds <3

Based on a old apocalypse au I wrote where Shigeo chose not to accept Mob's hand at the end of the series and instead turned to kill Reigen, destroying the entire world in a fit of rage afterwards. And after canon Mob and Reigen accidently stumble into their world, Shigeo is first to snatch up Reigen and turn him into an obedient puppet that listens to every word he says.

God I really REALLY want to write an omegaverse idea between Mob and Reigen with Reigen just slowly going insane. The idea that I have is that Mob presented as an alpha somewhere inbetween the events of the story and Reigen has been going crazy the entire time since then. Reigen is an omega, through and through, but he's always been very quiet and casual about it. He's never even shared a heat with anyone and he's been taken heat suppressants religiously for several years now. But somehow- somehow!! Mob’s scent just makes Reigen absolutely weak at the knees and he has to control himself so damn much to not let his attraction leak out into his scent or to act on it in any way. Reigen just makes his peace that Mob's scent is just... amazing to him, but he'll never act on it because he's his shishou before even biology. He's not going to come onto Mob! What the hell kind of person would he be then?! So he just... doesn't nothing about the fact that Mob’s scent is downright delicious to him and that he's maybe kinda a little bit in love... but he keeps it a very very close secret.

What Reigen doesn't know is that Mob has been scenting him and leaving his scent everywhere on Reigen. Mob has been doing this for years now because he's been wanting to make Reigen go slowly insane and eventually crack enough to just break and throw himself onto him. The issue is that Mob underestimated how stubborn Reigen would be and he's starting to get Impatient

He didn’t see Mob splatted on the ground which was, generally, a good thing. That would have been a concerning start to a new relationship. He looked up to the sky but didn’t see anything there either.

He could feel it though.

Mob’s powers, pulsing in waves, little bursts and then bigger ones. He was up there somewhere, probably putting on one hell of a fireworks show for anyone that could see auras or psychic powers. Reigen crossed his arms over himself against the evening chill as he closed his eyes and let the ebb and flow of Mob’s powers wash over him.

One of these days, I really do want to write same age mobrei that's just about Mob noticing Reigen, who's a new transfer student from black vinegar school, and becoming increasingly interested in him. Mob notices that Reigen is lonely and doesn't really seem to talk to anyone... which gives him the fantastic opportunity to introduce himself and become Reigen’s only friend. I just want to write some fucky/cute same age mobrei with the vibes of there being something up with Mob, but he's just sweet enough that no one really notices. Who's gonna write the creepy fluffy Mob of my dreams... I just want Mob to stalk Reigen home and for Reigen to leave him cute little anonymous love letters. I have to do everything myself around here......

Trying to think about what kind of collar Reigen would have... I wanna say pink, but I don't think he'd have that as his very first collar... maybe something more classic like black and silver with an o ring?

Mobrei is so fucking good because Mob can quite literally do whatever he wants with Reigen with or without his powers. Reigen is absolutely riddled with abandonment, loneliness, and self-esteem issues, all of which are all tied up in Mob as he was the one who brought "color" back into his life. Reigen will quite literally do whatever it takes to keep Mob by his side because he thinks that Mob is the best thing that's ever happened to him, and if he loses Mob, then he loses everything. Reigen can so easily ignore his own boundaries when it comes to Mob because he can't risk scaring or pushing Mob away, so he's happy to deal with whatever Mob throws at him.

It just has the potential of being such a codependent relationship because Mob has so much control here, whether or not Reigen fully realizes that. Mob will not ever let Reigen go, and there's nowhere that Reigen could escape to in order to get away from him. That's if Reigen would ever reach the point of running away in the first place because he's so hopelessly attached to Mob. So, really, Mob could just use manipulation and Reigen’s own issues against him to do... really anything he ever wanted. Without powers, Mob can just use manipulate him, and with powers, he will always be stronger than him in every sense of the word. Reigen is just hopelessly trapped here and Mob loves him so fucking much that he'll never let him leave...
