It was no surprise that Daphne was frequently getting her hair and nails done, being one of the ways she relaxes. She knows it was quite a spoiled habit but she loved it. Treating herself to a little day of Daphne TLC was actually one of the redhead's favorite things. That's why people worked hard, right, so that they could enjoy it. She stared down at the binder in her hands, flipping through pages of sketches she had alongside lists of what she was planning to buy for this summer. Spring was on its way which meant it was time to prepare for the next one. "I really hope that neon colors stop making random appearances during summer, if I see one more highlighter yellow swimsuit I am going to scream," she said looking at a photo from last year she had stapled in. "And there is absolutely such a thing as too much fringe, don't you think?" Daphne held up the book for them to see as they touched up her roots.

Daphne had to admit that the idea of falling in love interested her. She wanted to meet that special someone and start a family, the whole nine yards. Of course, she knew the gang might make fun of her for that, especially Velma who probably that she was conforming to societal norms but she couldn't help it. Daphne watched all those romantic chick flicks around February and made homemade Valentines for her friends. It was stupid, she knew that, but she loved the idea of love. As she stood at the front with the number of her table she looked around for who might have the same one, asking to be surprised instead of getting told their name right away. Daphne smiled when she saw Fred wandering about. "I didn't think you'd sign up for something like this. Fred Jones, looking for love?" She said with a small laugh before it faded off. "Have you found your date yet?"

💋 ( Luis )
@faiirytalcs
Daphne was waiting for him to kiss her, she'd been giving eyes for weeks now. Actually, she almost wondered what took him so long but didn't question it as his lips touched hers. As much as she knew this was a bad idea she couldn't help it. Why was her type always boys she knew would piss off her parents and break her heart? The only exception was Fred and that wasn't going anywhere fast. As she pulled away a smile was pulling where his lips had just been. "Took you long enough," she said with a soft laugh escaping, giving him a playful shove.

There was no denying that Daphne was an attractive woman, easily one of the hottest ones who crossed paths with Luis on a frequent basis. She had his attention for better or for worse ( most likely worse ). If he’d been a decent person, or even had a single shred of decency in him, he’d know to not sully her life with his presence but he didn’t. He knew something was going on, she wasn’t being totally honest with him and he liked it. “Good.” The word was almost a soft growl as the smirk on his face seemed to take on a life of its own, a hand sliding around her waist to hold her close as he started walking. He wasn’t in any particular rush, nodding to certain patrons he recognized from his many evenings spent here, pointing out the people you could trust there and those to avoid until he was leading her down one of the empty back hallways. The music was muffled as he pushed her somewhat gently against the wall and stepped in close. “I know this could be your scene but it isn’t, sweetheart…so what are you doing here? What are you after?” Luis wasn’t scolding, he could come off as threatening to most, but he was simply morbidly curious to know. What kind of trouble could they get into?
⋆⋆⋆ ✿ ⋆⋆⋆
She watched him like she could guess his next move, knowing very well he could surprise her at any moment. As much as she liked to believe she could see through his physique it was a lie. Everything he did was probably the last thing she should be getting involved with and yet here she was. Something about him always drew her in, as terrible as he would inevitably end up being for her. Maybe that’s why she fell in love with mysteries in the first place and now he had become one. “Does a girl always have to be up to something? Can she just not explore a little? See what’s out there,” she said raising a brow while trying to fight back the smile at the edge of her lips. It was a bad idea, she knew it was, but she couldn’t help it. “I’m just... wandering, that’s all.” Not necessarily a lie and still avoidant of the truth.

who: @norvillc where: the park/outskirts of the woods
“Scooby! Are you kidding?” Daphne sighed as she looked down at the large muddy paw print on her pants where he had just pawed in an attempt to get a Scooby snack from her. She’d always kept them in her purse for when they were out solving a mystery and the two chickens didn’t want to do something. Food was the best way to get them to do anything so she made sure to be prepared. The downside of that was now Scooby thought she’d give them to him whenever and that wasn’t the case. “You know those are one for special situations, right Shaggy?” She said looking over at his owner who was on standing nearby. “We only give out Scooby Snacks to you two when you need to be really, really brave. Like maybe if we were going to explore this abandoned shack I found in the woods.” A mischievous smile came to her lips as the true reason she brought them here was revealed.

When Daphne called Fred to ask him to come over he was quick to drop everything he was doing and make his way over to her place. He would never admit that or act as if he would rush over there, simply telling her he supposed he could make time to come over and trying to act as nonchalant as possible. Once he was there he made himself comfortable and lounged on the couch, his legs spread and his back slouched into the cushion. As Daphne held up the two pieces Fred had been thinking about her eyes. He looked back up at her when she spoke though and analyzed the two outfits. “Hmm,” he said as if he were actually deep in thought. Well, Fred was pretty passionate about passion so it’s safe to say he was giving it some thought. “Okay so, like, this is just my opinion but I think the lavender is cuter in style but the color is just so…everyday you. It doesn’t stick out as much as the mauve shade would. But, that’s also a much bolder piece and you would need to decide if you want to draw attention to yourself tonight or not.” He shrugged. “It’s your choice though. In the end what matters is what you’re going to feel more comfortable in.”
⋆⋆⋆ ✿ ⋆⋆⋆
Her eyes switched between the two outfits as she held them at her sides, still going through pros and cons to each inside her head. Daphne knew it was just a dinner for work but this could be big for the summer collection. This would set the tone for the rest of the town’s direction this summer in fashion which meant she needed to make sure she looked ready for the role. Her heart rate was higher than she liked but the third cup of coffee probably didn’t do her any favors. “You think so? Yeah, yeah, you’re right,” she said biting at the side of her nail for a second before stopping as to not damage her manicure. “What if...” Daphne reached back for an outfit she’d tossed aside and grabbed the top and the dress. “Lavender dress, throw this sweater over it and a belt to cinch the waist?” The girl held up the pieces again to show him her vision before looking to him for his thoughts. “It’s giving summer but still able to transition into fall, you know?” She gave a deep exhale, her lips pulling into a small frown. “Or do I just sound like I’ve lost my mind?”

Whatever Daphne had been up to, Luis didn’t really give a shit. It wasn’t in his nature to ask for context or details when it didn’t serve his interests and right now all he was interested in was the luck of their paths crossing again. Didn’t matter why. “Just finds you? Must be why I keep running into you.” Luis mused, a devilish smirk taking up residence on his lips. “Prude?” He repeated, eyes falling over her form and doing nothing to hide the fact that he was taking her in. No shame to be found in his gaze ( it was possible he’d never felt it before in his life ). “I’d never think of you like that. But you have to admit, this isn’t really your scene, is it.” It wasn’t much of a question. “I can show you around,” he offered nonchalantly before shrugging to match, “if you want.”
⋆⋆⋆ ✿ ⋆⋆⋆
She knew he was trouble, everything about him dripping in bad ideas. What about that made her want to get to know him better was against her. Daphne knew she had bad taste in men sometimes, especially when it came to a man that was entirely wrong for her. If her parents where here she already knew what they’d say but it was a good thing they weren’t. She wanted to have fun for once. “Ah, that’s what it is...” Daphne gave him a small smile, trying to keep her laugh soft. She watched his eyes scan her and a wave of confidence washed over her causing her posture to straighten even more. He had a gaze that was dangerous. “It could be,” she said with a shrug, not wanting to come off entirely lame. That didn’t mean she wouldn’t take up the opportunity to snoop around a little more. “Yeah, yeah, a tour would be great. Not like I don’t know my way around or anything.”

Having anything she needed to attend last minute always brought a level of stress when it came to choosing an outfit. Velma was out doing something with big science-y words that she didn’t dare ask the definitions of. That meant she’d have to call up Fred, not that she was complaining but it had been awkward been them as of late. Daphne had been trying to ignore the fact that her feelings for him hadn’t totally left her system yet and he still hadn’t been able to figure it out. By now she’d come to know it simply wasn’t going to happen but inviting him over at night to drink wine and look at outfits with her felt too close. And yet here he was on the couch as she switched between holding two different dresses against her figure. “What do you think? The short fitted lavender or the two-piece mauve?”

who: @aalwaysforgotten where: grub & pub
Daphne wasn’t embarrassed to be getting a drink at the bar by herself but it drove her up a wall how everyone at the bar meant she wanted to be flirted with. In fact, as far as she could tell only one guy hadn’t been annoying all night, the few others being a group of grimy men with something to say. She was actually relieved when they finally left and she was able to sit with her vodka cranberry in peace. After finishing the rest quite quickly she caught the eye of the one other person left with her at the bar. “Thank you, by the way, for not being an obnoxious asshole. Apparently those are a dime a dozen these days,” she said giving him a small smile, feeling a little more social now that they’d gone. Maybe he’d prove her wrong but she at least had to say something now that’d he’d seen her staring.

muse: daphne blake ( @dangerrprone ) location: topsy turvy
One of Luis’s favorite spots was Topsy Turvy, not just because he liked hanging out with Mohan, but mostly because it had an air of chaos and unpredictability that he enjoyed. Anything went there and he liked that. Spotting a familiar head of hair, the man ambled up to her, a mischievous glint in his eye that matched the smirk on his lips. “I wouldn’t expect to see a girl like you in a place like this. You’re not looking for trouble are you?”
⋆⋆⋆ ✿ ⋆⋆⋆
Daphne had been, well, she’d been snooping. There had been some rumors going around about suspicious behavior there and of course that meant Daphne needed to see for herself. Waking up in a random town some with and without their memories meant Mystery Inc had to be on alert. She knew it might be stupid to think they could figure it out but she had to try. Daphne hated knowing they thought she was probably too much of a damsel in distress to do anything on her own which is why she’d prove them wrong. Seeing Luis threw a slight wrench in her plans but she couldn’t be too mad. “Me? Why not? You really think I’m that much of a prude?” She said quickly finding a smile to put on for him. Sure, this wasn’t her normal scene but she didn’t want him to know that. “I don’t have to look for it, I’m lucky and it just finds me.”

pizza planet was a chill enough place, he got to take home whatever was left over by the end of the night and he and one of his two best bros basically run the place at this point, but sometimes the shifts rolled by exceptionally slow and he felt more or less like a glorified babysitter with all the screaming kids running around the arcade section, so once the other stopped by, he was ready to give her his full attention, if anything to have an excuse as to why he wasn’t breaking up a fight near the claw machine. he grimaces a bit at her question, letting out a soft almost groan. “nah, dudette, you’re barkin’ up the wrong tree with that one, unforch.” he’s holding back an amused smirk as he puts in her order, reading it back and his tone of voice deceives him as he does. “yeah, totes, one primo veggie, hold the cheese and a extra large with all the cheese. that’s quite contradicting…it’ll be $23.49, madame.”

Daphne’s eyebrow shot up as he talked, her mouth opening slightly while she tried to process what in the world that language was. Sometimes she wondered what went through boy’s brains when they gave everything a little nickname but she tried to think as little about men as possible. “What? Can girls not be dudes too?” Daphne knew this wasn’t a can of worms to open with someone who uses the phrase ‘unforch’. She shook her head and nodded in understanding the price she was going to owe. “Great, thank you,” she said before tugging out a fifty from her wallet and holding it out for him to take. It felt like a fair price for pizza, not like she knew what the going prices where on a good za these days. That was more Shaggy’s department and she knew this was always where he came anyway. “I can just wait here, right?” Daphne looked back at a spot to sit, making sure he didn’t mind before she sat down since she’d be close enough to basically watch him as he worked.

who: @niceascot where: the mall
Christmas was readily approaching and Daphne hadn’t made a dent in her shopping list. Usually she tried to get these things done ahead of time before things started to sell out or she got busy with all the other holiday festivities. Gift giving was something she prided herself on, making sure each item was thought out and fine tuned for the person who was receiving it. The Mystery Inc. gang was always the first on her list and especially now that her parents weren’t around, that was her family. She had already gotten Velma a new mug for her morning tea after breaking her favorite one the other week, Shaggy a gift card to Pizza Planet, and that was just the beginning. When it came to gifts, Daphne never slacked. That was until it came to Fred, he was a different story. Everything he wanted he always bought himself and it was the most inconvenient around the holidays when she went on her shopping spree. Daphne was looking through a rack at a clothing store for him when she looked up to see him at the same one browsing across form her. “Freddie!” She said with a glare and furrowed brows. “What are you doing out shopping? It’s almost Christmas, you aren’t allowed to buy anything for yourself right now. That’s like an unsaid rule.”

The predicament of waking up in this place would’ve been a whole lot harder if not for her friends. It wasn’t like she wanted to stay here forever but knowing she had them close by made the transition easier. Even Velma’s little sister had ended up here, which she knew Shaggy must have been quite happy about. He deserved something good, someone who saw how big of a heart and all he had to offer. Not to mention she knew Madelyn had a crush on him for like ever. Secretly, she was hoping Fred would see that she looked at him the same way but so far it hadn’t happened. She held up her mug, blowing on the black coffee inside it to cool it down before she took a sip. “So... How’re things? As your honorary sister it’s my job to check in and make sure you’re doing okay.” Daphne took a small sip before smiling across the table. “I don’t make the rules just follow them.”
