New Yarn

I'm writing after a long time! Guess what I've been doing so far....

I just... wanted to test new materials for the doll!

I found a fascinating type of yarn...What it looks like is,

If I crochet an amigurumi with this yarn, the final result doesn't show any stitches.

It also means that I could have a very hard time making dolls.

But... I tried it and let's see what I did!!!

This is the head and upper torso of my crochet BJD pattern.

I enjoid crafting with this yarn and looking forward to finish my work!!!

Crochet BJD doll 'Dango'

I haven't even finished the prototype of the doll yet, but first, I took a picture with a wig and an outfit.

The doll's name, 'Dango,' comes from dango🍡, a Japanese rice cake. Dango is a rice cake threaded on a skewer, and it has a similar concept to BJD made by threading doll parts on a rubber band. Also, 'dango' is cute! Its name and appearance are both cute.

Dango is posable, and fits MSD-sized outfit. (I think some outfits, especially pants, are not fit for this doll... hmm....anyway)

I used 4ply cotton yarn, which is designed for amigurumi.

Crochet BJD doll progress

Nowadays, I am trying to crochet an amigurumi with BJD structure. So... it has some ball joint and pieces of body parts!!

I think, it will have 22 joints including double joints for knees and elbows.

It took a really long time - more than a week - to make it. In particular, it took two days to decide the shape of its face.

These three stuffs are the failure for making face =D

And this is the final, cute face. The eyes are changeable, so I can crochet eyes in other colors and change it.

Also, it took another two days to shape its legs.

It could also sit in suwarikko pose.
