This is Justin Hogan’s website,an American photographer of mainly musicians, but also sport stars. He is a source of inspiration for me as his style of photography is very simple but incredibly effective. He shoots with natural light and in the natural habitats of the people he is shooting.
He also has imployed a very minimal aestetic to the website. The white background makes it feel clean and simple. Its really easy to navigate due to the static menu on the left hand side. And again he uses both the click and pop and scrollable thumbs that are large enough to view.

This is Stem Agency’s website. It is a showcase of work from photographers, illustrators and directors. I really like the layout which is simple to navigate, it looks clean and fresh with the white background and minimalist feel. The site also utalises two styles of presentation with scrollable thumbnails that are big enough to view as well as a click and pop style slideshow.
I will try and implement this style of presentation in my own website.

Here is a website by a Japanese photographer, Androniki Christoulou. The website, I think is designed for the larger screen, the image on the main page is cut short at the bottom of the screen. The images are also displayed in a continuous scroll to the right. I prefer the slideshow presentation style, or click and pop style.

Otaku as defined by Urban Dictionary... Usually an Otaku personal has nothing better to do with their life so they pass the time by watching Anime, playing video games, surfing the internet (otaku is also used to refer to a nerd/hacker/programmer).

Guest Lectures
Ewan Spencer, originally a photographer from the north of England who made his name photographing subcultures - and most notably the rise of Grime music in London - is now a successful director of adverts and short movies for huge companies such as Nike and Adidas.
This lecture was of particular interest to me as I had seen most of Ewan's Grime related pictures growing up in London and following the emergence of Grime music and the culture that surrounded it without knowing he was the one that took them.
He spoke about moving with the times and embracing new technologies and techniques and then implementing them in his work. He also gave a very frank breakdown of funding his projects, the business side of dealing with super companies and producing great work on a budget.
The business/financial side the industry really interests me as much as the creative side so to hear a detailed and grounded evaluation of such was great for me.

Guest Lectures
Daniel Alexander, the Course Director of Digital Photography at LSBU, senior lecturer and exhibitor gave a talk on how a project manifests and grows over time. He spoke about the processes that he goes through with each project, how to research and the amount of research he puts into each project. He spoke about the detail and the time that is needed to create a project that represents the subject matter with integrity and the respect it deserves.
This was extremely important to the project he was showing to us which was his latest book release, When War is Over. The project and book is a tribute to First World War Memorial sites and the effort that goes into the burial sites of the fallen soldiers. He also looked at the documentation of the deaths and the processes of how each is remembered and documented.
