Overall Evaluation
For brief 3, I believe my photography skills have improved. I was able to use the correct settings for natural lightening. The camera became easier to use as I began to practice more. At first, I started taking pictures at concerts and the food I would order at restaurants. However, after shooting for brief 3, I began to realized that taking pictures of buildings and nature were one of my strongest peaks. Brief 3, helped me expand my photography skills to a much more mature state.

Model Consent form
For brief 2, we had to fill out a model consent form. However, I did not get a model consent form filled out on time but it is on its way. Instead of the consent form, I was able to get permission from my model. I should be receiving the consent form within the next couple of days..

Tumblr media
In this picture, we see Tilley and her best friend Del posing for a photo together. They are happy and are ready for their big day at the gallery. In the picture next to them, there is another photo of Tilley and Del. They are two peas in a pot and go everywhere with each other. Del is a pig that has a mind of its own and its able to comfort Tilley when she is down and lonely.
Tumblr media
The photo above, is about people with disabilities who are taking portraits for the company called heart N Soul collective. Heart N Soul has curated a project called, The Big 30. The Big 30 is about celebrating 30 wonderful years of Heart N Soul.
Tumblr media
This image consists of Tilley, Del and their friend. While looking at this photo, I realized how much Del means to Tilley and how they both share a special bond with each other.   “ Tilley is quite a fanatic about buses, with a particular love of this World War Two RT bus, pictured on the left. Tilley is so passionate about this bus that she even has it on her wallpaper at home, which is why she chose it as the set for her Big 30 portrait

Guest Lecture: Russell Boyce
Tumblr media
This photograph consists of four people walking through a park in London. There is snow on the ground and the clouds are cloudy, like always. The trees are also covered in snow and there aren’t that many people walking outside. The snowy background represents that winter has arrived and temperatures are beginning to drop.
Tumblr media
This photo taken by Russel Boyce, represents the crowded tubes during rush hour. We can see from this angle that the trains are extremely crowded because there are multiple hands holding onto the top bar instead of the ones that are on the side. Rush hour in London can be pretty crazy, but Russel Boyce is able to take a photo on the tube during its highest peak time proves that he is a professional photographer who can take a picture no matter the situation he is in.
Tumblr media
This eerie photo is what the London’s sky looked from Hurricane Ophelia. Ophelia was a strong hurricane that caused the sky to turn orange throughout the United Kingdom. The color distortion of the color came from the dust that is located in the Sahara desert. While walking through London on the day the sky turned orange, reminded me of the insane theory that the world was going to end.

Cat Chat, is created by Jennifer Arnold. The painting is made from oil on canvas. The picture illustrates two black cats that are casually having a conversation by the window. The cats even have a nice scenic view of the forest behind them.
Tumblr media
Sunset by Gayathri Sathanath is a painting made out of oils. The painting portrays the fiery sun that is setting into the horizon. The painting reminds me of the Lion King because of its open nature and strong sunsets that can be seen from the pride land.

Smith & Sinclair: The Flavor Gallery
Tumblr media
The Smith & Sinclair: The Flavor Gallery is an event that gives art lovers a chance to smell art and enjoy the night filled with mysteries. Faith is the Light that guides you through the darkness, is a piece art of that consists of LED lights. The sparkling signature quote captures its audience because of its vibrant and popping colors.
Tumblr media
The Marilyn Monroe Scratch & Sniff is a piece of art that is covered with different scents. Each poster has its own significant smell. The scents range from sweet to minty, and from strong to mild. I chose this picture for my blog because we get to see Marilyn Monroe through a different kind of art. Instead of only looking and reading about her, we get a chance to actually smell her! In order to smell the different scents, you had to get close to the photos and scratch them with your finger. Scratch and Sniff is enjoyable because you are experiencing art through an unusual way. Smith and Sinclair: The Flavor Gallery, is located in  Hoxton Basement, 12-18, Hoxton Street, N1, 6ND.
Tumblr media
The Spectrum, by Matthew Bracey, consist of a neon rainbow swirl. The colors range from a neon pink to a neon red. The electrifying piece of art attracts its audience because of its powerful rainbow swirls. The rainbow can represent, a gay flag, skittles and just pure happiness.

180 the Strand: Everything at Once
Tumblr media
This piece of art is called, Stairway to Heaven, by Ryan Gander, The stairs represents the afterlife and an entrance into heaven. I chose this photo for my blog, because the bright stairway reminds me of the movie, All Dogs go to Heaven. The reason the Stairway to Heaven reminds me of the movie is because even though there is a heaven, the stairs will always be there.
Tumblr media
This art work is called, Channels by Susan Hiller. Susan Hiller was born in year, 1940, in Tallahassee, Florida. Susan’s work “is based on specific cultural artifacts from our society, which she uses as basic materials.” The Channels range from a blank blue screen to the static grey color that we get when there is something wrong with our TV. I chose this photo because of all the different sizes of the TV can mean that no matter what brand or size they are, a TV won’t last forever and that it will eventually stop working.

This electrifying floor is called Test Pattern  by Ryoji ikeda. “Ryoji Ikeda focuses on the essential characteristics of sound itself and that of visuals as light by means of both mathematical precision and mathematical aesthetics.” While standing on the ground  bare foot, I was able to feel the heavy vibrations. The black and white patterns made the tone of the room quite. Everyone in the room, was staring down at the black and white musical patterns paying close attention to what would happen next. It felt like the floor was the piano and your feet were your finer that began to play a song with different music notes.

Art Work of Art Wolfe
Tumblr media
Arctic fox in Nunavet, Canada (Art Wolfe, Photos From The Edge)
Tumblr media
Lion and cubs, Seregeti NP, Tanzania (Art Wolfe, Photos From The Edge)
The Lion and her cubs represent a family that is full of love while living in the wild. We can see how important her cubs are to her and that each of her cubs are protected by the strength of a mother.
Tumblr media
Brown bear and cubs, Lake Clark NP, Alaska (Art Wolfe, Photos From The Edge)
The photo of the bear and her cubs are important to me because bears are one of my favorite animals. After watching the movie, Brother Bear, I realized how important the bears are to nature and to their families. They are a grand species that protect each other with everything they have when they are in danger. This specific photo of the bears also show that they are not dangerous until they are provoked. The bears in this photo look friendly. It’s almost like they are a smiling and having a conversation.

Who is Art Wolfe?
Art Wolfe was born on September 13th, 1951 in Settle Washington. He is one of the photographers who have inspired some of my photos for brief 3. Wolfe inspired me because he photographs nature and animals. Most of the photos I take consist of nature, city life and animals. Art Wolfe helped me decide where and how to take pictures of Sophie and her cat. His work consist of wild animals living out of captivity. Since Sophie’s cat is also an outdoor cat, I was able to take ideas from Wolfe’s work and help Sophie decide where she wants the picture of her and Missy taken.

Task for Brief 3
What is the task:” This project has two stages: In part 1 of the project, you will link up with a team from BA(Hons) Journalism and produce images for them as part of their weekly broadcast schedule. This will be as part of a team.In part 2 of the project, you will extend the project in a direction of your own choosing using the connections you have made and knowledge you have gained from working in this collaborative team.” - Adam Brown
what I did: For part 1, I photograph buildings of council flats around elephant and castle as well as buildings that were going under construction. For part 2, I took pictures of buildings, for example, Big Ben, Kelly Street in Kentish Town and Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
what I didn’t do: For part 1, I didn’t prepare for the photo shoot. I just followed my group and went where they did to take the photos. I also didn’t have the settings correct on my camera and some pictures came out too dark and not presentable. For part 2, I didn’t prepare and sketch out ideas before going out to shoot.I took pictures of colorful houses and famous landmarks without having a specific topic on what I wanted the pictures to be about when I present them to the class.
what did I learn: I l learned that I have to sketch out ideas before rushing to finish. I also learned how to put my camera on the correct settings and how to make my organization improve.

Who is Jim Goldberg?
Jim Goldberg is an American photographer who was born in New Haven, Connecticut on June 3rd, 1965. “ In Late 1970 to mid 1980′s, Jim Goldberg decided to do a project about about the living conditions of rice and poor. He wrote a book called, Rich and Poor: Photographs. The book consist of images from different classes and how each of them were living. Some of the photos consist of people in hotel rooms, with family, and even by themselves. Jim Goldberg once said, “ In order to figure this art making stuff out, it's trial and error and experimentation, and takes some time and hard thinking. Putting work out in many forms and stages is an extension of how I see things. I feel the art process is best served when it invites comments and constructive criticism from people.”

Task for Brief 2:
Tumblr media
Rich and Poor series (1977 – 1985), Jim Goldberg
What is the task: “Create a series of images, minimum 4, maximum 6 that document an interaction & collaboration with a person or people that you would not normally interact with. The subjects of your pictures must be both willing, and active participants in the creation of the images. Both you and the subject should benefit from this interaction, and the subject should have an input into how they are represented. The project should be documentary in approach.” - Adam Brown
what I did: Take photos of a person and photographed what they wanted me to photograph. I also followed their ideas and where they wanted their pictures taken.
what I didn’t do: I didn’t challenge myself hard enough. I didn’t choose a stranger off the streets, but instead chose someone that I had met some time ago.
What did I learn from this brief: I learned how to take pictures outside with the natural lighting and how to accommodate with my model.
