“Nice 2 C U” is my #CardronaComp Cocktail. The Reid @cardronadistillery Vodka, Tomato water, Honey, Sherry and Vermouth. This drink is inspired by the impetus that keeps me bartending; the meeting of cultures. Utilising British made tomatoes and British made honey as the key flavours, then small amounts of Italian vermouth and Spanish Sherry highlighting the multi diversity of London city. So for the geeky part, if you want to make my drink firstly you’ll need to blend 3 Rose Beef British Tomatoes, half a Cucumber, 10g of Salt and 3g of MSG and strain that mixture through a cheese cloth. Using 30ml of this ‘seasoned’ Tomato water add 40ml The Reid Vodka, 2bsp of Bermondsey St honey, 10ml Tio Pepe and 5ml Martini Rubino, stirring it until all the ingredients are mixed, adding cubed or block ice then stirring until chilled. Pouring it into a frozen Savage x Nude Pony glass Last thing to note is the name ‘Nice 2 C U’ this is an ode to meeting strangers in a bar, the meeting of global cocktail ingredients in a drink, the joining of all these worlds as well as half of the catchphrase of British TV Legend Bruce Forsyth… Forsyth being the name of the type of 2 of the copper pot stills used to distill spirits at Cardrona.
