imagine you are a fourteen year old kissass and the teacher you are sucking up to tells you to bully the shit out of the new kid, and you say sir yes sir. fast forward a couple years and suddenly your teacher decides he thinks that loser new kid is the actually the shit and he starts spoiling the hell out of him. now you and your least favorite classmate are locked in a fierce battle to see Who Can Be The Biggest Teacher's Pet and for some fucking reason the little dickhead is winning. he won't shut up about how the teacher who told you to kick his ass a few years ago is definitely going to marry him as soon as he's legal. unfortunately(?) before this happens, he dies(?) and now your teacher is depressed and you have bigger problems than worrying about losing the Favorite Student competition even though your competitor is dead. except he's not dead and now he's back and stupidly hot and also he has lost his fucking mind because your teacher killed himself in his arms, and now you have to run a mountain because your teacher is dead. except he's not dead either and now your former favorite punching bag is threatening to blow this whole place up because he wants to be loved, and you're wondering if maybe that bullying in your adolescence had longterm psychological effects. fast forward again and you are still in charge of a mountain about half the time because your teacher is too busy fucking the kid he told you to bully 15+ years ago

atp i’ve watched several shows with phuwin (bl and non-bl) and it irks me sooooo much how people LOVE to discount his acting and downplay his work because of, get this, kissing scenes. okay, okay, i get that in the bl/romance genre kissing scenes are important from an audience’s pov but as someone who’s always more sold on chemistry through conversational and other subtle intimacy scenes, the kissing scenes don’t bother me even if they are bad. because if they are, it’s not just the actor’s fault. the intimacy coordinator and the director also have a hand in not making the scene visually appealing, moreso than the actors involved. and it’s just one small part of a bigger narrative whole and for people to act like phuwin isn’t a very capable actor because he kisses a certain way is absurd to me. some things don’t come naturally to actors—so many suffer in certain parts due to awkward physicality or awkward line delivery but if they are average or good for the most part, we always generalise the performance as a whole good but in phuwin’s case, for some bizarre reason, people choose to take away the entirety of his solid performances because of the short sprinkled in kiss scenes as if it’s the biggest crime in the world??? he’s such a versatile talent and he’s truly improving with every work and his comedic chops as well as emotional intensity ARE good. ofc, he’s not some super great actor but he’s far far from the worse and honestly, for me, he acts very well in intense, emotional or comedic scenes. he’s also a pretty natural actor in terms of moving and doing actions on camera. i hate how much people enjoy putting him down and neglecting all the good acting and hardwork and skills he has developed on screen. he’s not even in my top 5 list of actors but seeing the excessive focus on his kissing instead of appreciating his acting in general—it’s just made me more protective of him lol.

Ive just seen all the Mark Birthday Event stuff about STGD and honestly, im not surprised that they had higher expectations.

The show could've been a lot had they actually executed the script to be cohesive and sensible. I love the characters they made for Jway and Sant, and even Captain, Gugg and Yada... because Jway being the slightly narcissistic, entitled but caring clown would've worked very well with self depreciating, insecure and abandoned babyboy Sant. Even Yada being the Girl Best Friend could have added a lot of depth to Jway's character being capable of maintaining frienships + she could've been an actual aid to the relationship. Captain could've had Jway get jealous and realise that he needs to stop being so full off himself, instead of making the insecure Sant feel even worse and add to Jway's ego simultaneously. We also never really worked on their split, or if Jway's tendencies to be overcompensatingly clownish was because he didn't have enough fun with Captain. Not to add the outright bi-phobia, heteronormativity and stereotyping of queer women with Yada and Gugg's relationship where Gugg actively feels insecure of Yada being stronger or "more manly" (she is literally femme i dont even know what these people were on) than him.

Then, i haven't seen the last two episodes but i know for a fact that they did not utilize Khao's cameo as P'Jeng well enough in the first episode. Which is yet again, because the script doesn't really let us get attached and invested in particular characters or their behaviors. If everything keeps changing so frequently, we will just give up on the feeling because we are trying to not miss anything.

The problem with this show lies least with the actors and their efforts. I might go as much to say that i have not seen Mark this happy to play a role, ever. This being Ohm's first show as an actual lead is insane because he has managed to capture every emotion with utmost sincerity, especially the crying. All of the cameos and side actors have been actively involved in promotions and the PR team has tried what they could. The truth is that these actors just straight up deserved a better script and a better post production than what was given to them.

So help me god if GMMTV tries even a little to blame MarkOhm for this or continues to not give them the scripts they necessarily need now, they will find me infront of the building with certain inflamable materials that i will have to illegally smuggle into the country. Also stop using JittiRain fuckery.

It's finally June (happy rainbow month everyone! 🌈) so it's time for my annual "spot the QL actor at Bangkok Pride Parade" post in which I lurk around the socials to spot familiar faces and share some happiness (here's last year's post for even more happy memories).

As usual, please keep in mind that this is a month-long event for Bangkok Pride that already started yesterday. Many actors might not be able to attend for work-related reasons, they might attend other events or show their support in other ways. This post is for the Bangkok Pride Parade only because this is the part I enjoy most (but please feel free to add to it because the more 🌈✨ the merrier).

And who better to start with than Earth Katsamonnat aka Cooheart. I wish tumblr would let me post more than one video because he. is. breathtaking (but what else is new).

Earth is there with his fellow WabiSabi actors Oat Tharathon, Tonliew Methaphat and Golf Pasatorn.

Next up we have none other than Gun Atthaphan, and it makes me so so happy to see him there.

And of course it wouldn't be a Pride event without Bank Mondop and Mos Panuwat.

They joined along with fellow Star Hunter actors JJ Rathasat, Fong Bovorn and several members of Star Hunter's girl group Cosmos.

Here we have Nut Supanut and Ping Orbnithi in traditional attire from their upcoming BL I'm the Most Beautiful Count. It's really difficult to find good pictures this year since it's mostly videos so I can't even show them in their whole glory. Nut especially deserves an award for walking Pride in these heels (then again, by now he's probably a pro):

Finally a good pic of Kongthup's artists walking the parade (it took me hours to find anything that wasn't a video): Mon Taechin, Pak Varayu, Lee Long Shi, Krismon Thanawat, Top Sumethee and Arm Chaiyapat.

Park Anantadej and Big Thanakorn are attending again this year as well but this is the only halfway recognisable pic of them both I could find (pls up your video limit tumblr I can't do this anymore).

Yoshi Rinrada is there as well (she's walking with Gun Atthaphan but I couldn't find any stills/pictures of that either 😭) and she is stunning.

I had to resort to taking blurry screencaps to give you Nice Boripat and Gunner Natsakan. They look much better on video so if you hop on over to the hellsite that is x you can see them in motion.

I finally found pics of our newlyweds Porsch Apiwat and Arm Sappanyoo.

Next up we have some of the cast of the upcoming muay thai BL Swing Kick: Beboy Nanthakorn, Team Tatchanon and David Matthew Roberts (I think... only Team was credited 😭)

Tiger Tanawat (the one Change2561 actor who's curiously always outsourced to other BL productions) was there by himself and walking alongside the group from Kongthup.

I will update this post as I find more pics of actors but for now this is it. Again, if you spotted more actors that attended (especially GL actresses because this is definitely my blind spot here) please feel free to add to this post or let me know.
