drink up, witches (who fear commitment)
happy book xxi! for…some of us. either way, in honor of my exploded gay heart, here’s a cocktail for the homeless witch who gave up half of his.
(faust voice) drink responsibly!
The Wandering Magician (aka The Painted Daisy, The Snocktail)
Inspiration: Bichon Frise Pairs well with: pumpkin bread, fried alligator, road trips, emotional intimacy Profile: sweet, floral, smooth
What you need:
- 2oz vodka (tea-flavored, if you can find it; otherwise see Step 0) - 1oz rose liqueur - 3-4oz San Pellegrino prickly pear + orange - black tea (about a bag’s worth, if loose) - sage - ice - shaker - measure thing
Step 0: Put black tea in vodka and stick it in the freezer to infuse for at least a week.
Step 1: Shake vodka and rose liqueur with ice and strain
Step 2: Add your sage leaf (I like to put it in here so the acid from the next step breaks it down a little and gives you more flavor)
Step 3: Top with San Pellegrino
It’s v e r y sweet, and if you overdo it on the rose liqueur, it will absolutely become perfume; keep the 2:1:3 ratio in larger quantities to make punch for a romantic picnic to your nearest mysterious glowing cave!

I am not one to soak up the summer sun for fun, the shade is better suited for me, but I sometimes seek outside serenity on the still-sultry-yet-not-insufferable summer nights, sitting under the stars' shimmering delight show. Then mosquitoes start to bite; a parent shouts for their children to come inside; sirens blare and a truck sputters by; firecrackers are shot off like it's already the Fourth of July; thunder rumbles ominously followed by lightning streaking the sky.
I sigh, serenity seeming impossible to come by...until I spot the fireflies and the frogs croak their nightly lullaby. I am reminded to focus on the soothing that exists even amidst the cacophony.
Summer Symphony

Found this, not positivity but just felt like sharing in case any of you needed a warm drink! 🖤 (If you’re under legal drinking age, please don’t have the alcoholic ones. Just needed to say.)

safe places to leave your heart:
the sea
empty churches
lilac groves
graveyards at night
old libraries
dusty used bookstores
sundappled shades of yellow, green, and pink
books of poetry
rose gardens
the sleeve of your last lover
a knot of willow branches
a misty morning in early summer
floral print
in the company of a cat
a sunrise or a sunset
deep green forests
