I just thought of something…
Throughout ATA 2, Wooly gets more mad each tape, more at Riley then they get answers wrong than at Amanda when she’s messing with him.
Do you think the reason why Wooly’s more passive aggressive towards Riley is because he’s jealous of their friendship with Amanda?
Throughout the story, Amanda has been less aggressive with us than she is with Wooly (she’s only violent with us when we get her REALLY mad)- when we mess up, she gives us a second chance. Heck, she even trusts Riley more than Wooly when it comes to secrets.
Amanda’s relationship with Riley is probably making Wooly jealous which leads to him getting more mad at us than at Amanda.
From what’s hinted, we know that Wooly did something wrong that ruined his relationship with Amanda and he desperately wants to make up for what he did, but Amanda’s not giving him any second chances because she has trust issues. So, when he sees Riley, a stranger, have a bond with Amanda, he’s going to be jealous.
I feel like this jealousy is going to be shown a lot more in ATA 3 and it’s all gonna come to a head where Wooly lashes out at us (maybe).

One thing i find really interesting is how Wooly thinks he understands Amanda, yet that is far from reality.
In "When you're feeling Bad", i think the prompt is "talk", Amanda says " there's nobody who will understand" but then Wooly says "I understand, Amanda!" to which Amanda replies "Yeah, you'd like to think so, wouldn't you?".
And well, he does think so. He likes to think so.
Wooly is so convinced he DOES understand Amanda and that he CAN help her, that even when she rejects him and makes it very and i mean VERY clear she doesn't want him anywhere near her and she thinks he absolutely doesn't understand her nor can help her, he will still keep trying. And there's a lot of times where he just keeps trying to help no matter what.
In "We can fix it!" he is literally SO DESPERATE to fix Amanda's heart he just looks at Riley and if they take too long he coughs as a reminder to hurry up. In "Oh no, accidents!" he gets flabbergasted when he sees a heart and says he's scared, but not in this tape, he just makes a sad expression and looks really defeated when he realizes there's no way to fix this.
And him in the story time tape is a perfect example, he tries so hard to help her but it's very clearly shown he doesn't know a thing about how to do so. First he tries to tell her that going on an adventure could cheer her up but it just makes her even more angry, he's proven wrong. He tries a story which Amanda constantly calls stupid and boring, proven wrong again. Nothing works because he DOESN'T know how to cheer her up, he DOESN'T understand and he CANNOT fix it. But he wants to and literally gaslights himself into believing he will fix her one day.
Another thing in "We can fix it!", their opinions switch from start to end. Amanda believes that we can fix everything, but loses hope when it comes to living things like the butterfly and herself. It's like she just gives up and doesn't even want to try to fix it, because she thinks it's useless to try. Wooly doesn't believe they can fix everything, but eventually gets very desperate when it comes to the butterfly or Amanda. "NO! We CAN fix it. Right?". He doesn't find much value in fixing things that are not alive even if it's easy, but even if it's hard, he'll try to fix living things. He even probably thought that fixing Amanda would be as easy as fixing the butterfly and had a little hope, believing he will finally do it.
Another thing that is kind of connected to this? I really believe that Wooly is jealous and envious of Riley.
Riley messes up? It's okay. Even if the monster does try to kill them, Amanda will at least give them another chance. If they help her? They are thanked, they are praised, most importantly, they KNOW how to make Amanda feel better, even if it's a little. Even if they just try, Amanda already thanks them. Not to mention Amanda trusts Riley and she just met them.
But with Wooly it's another story. He messes up? He is made fun of, he is hurt, Amanda gets angry at him. If he just TRIES to help her, he's pushed away, told he doesn't understand. It's been years yet Amanda won't forgive him for what he's done and trust him again, she's not even trying to fix their friendship, yet Wooly is so desperate he will go through anything to be friends with her again. But it doesn't matter to Amanda, it probably never will, no matter how hard Wooly tries. He got replaced by Riley so quickly, it probably hurts him and he got very envious and jealous of them.
Also Wooly is so desperate to fix Amanda it hurts HIM. He tries to make himself look like he's all fine and happy, but he's just suppressing his sadness, all in order to make Amanda believe it's gonna be okay too. He thinks that maybe if he makes himself look fine, maybe Amanda will also be fine. Maybe she'll also be okay. But again, he fails, it makes her angrier, but he just KEEPS DOING IT.
I do think he actually has a savior complex at this point. The definition is "a psychological concept that describes a person's tendency to feel the need to save others, often neglecting their own needs". Look me in the eyes and tell me that doesn't perfectly describe Wooly. "A person with this complex believes that he is responsible for solving other people's problems, which can lead to exhaustion and damaged relationships." AGAIN. it's literally Wooly, especially the "damaged relationships" part. But wait, there's more that fits him. "The person feels compelled to help others, even when it is not needed or requested." "Difficulty refusing others' requests and taking on too many responsibilities." "A person feels responsible for the well-being of others, often to the point of neglecting his own well-being." "There may be a desire to control the situation and the way problems are solved." Isn't all of this a perfect description of Wooly?

Maybe it’s because he didn’t know her at that personal level?
Like, Amanda personally knew her and trust her, right now we can’t say the same about wooly, the only thing he knows is that she wants to free the souls that are trapped in the tapes and that Amanda likes her so yeah, maybe he just doesn’t know her?
Just a thought... but isn't it odd how Wooly doesn't seem to say anything specific about Kate. Like, Amanda mentions quite a bit about her and how she trusted her and enjoyed talking to her but Wooly says nothing.
Though to be fair, they probably weren't very close considering Kate doesn't mention him AT ALL in her research or tapes to an almost uncanny degree. I feel like she should have paid more attention to Wooly... like wouldn't you want to know as much as possible about the situation?
I am very curious how he feels about her. Or about most things really. Tbh Idk if I have any more Amanda posts to make really I just wanted to start a discussion with this one. Might stay more quiet till Amanda 3 cuz at this point I don't want fanon to taint my perception of the characters too much ya know? :3

Not sure if I'll keep this scene but if I do here's a preview for episode 11 of the Amanda the Adventurer.
Can I please just give them a sibling dynamic in this perfect world where they get along now that all the secrets are out??? 🤔😅😛

Analysis on Amanda and Wooly's relationship
Even though Amanda and Wooly are the most popular characters of ATA, actually the only ones the fandom cares about, they are VERY watered down. So I'm here to talk about them more deeply, because their relationship is the most interesting thing in this game to me ! (⁎˃ᴗ˂⁎)
Let's start with their history, what even happened for them to end up this way?
Well, Amanda mentions that she used to trust Wooly. When Amanda asks Riley "Who's someone you trust?", if they answer with "Wooly", Amanda will say " I felt that way a long time ago, too". So they weren't always like this. Since things about them are currently unknown, a lot of this is gonna be logic.
First off, when they first came here, the moment they met, they became eachothers.. Well, basically everything. They only had eachother and were each others only comfort from then on, so they most likely became very dependent on eachother, not to mention they basically grew up together. But then, Wooly did something that made Amanda not trust him anymore. Their trust was broken, which meant from then on their life would become even worse than it already was, because they lost (in a way) the only person they had. Whatever it was that Wooly did hurt Amanda BADLY as we've seen how she acts to him, but it also wasn't intentional. (Again, let's use logic. You are stuck with someone, only them, and you possibly will be for your whole life. You would wanna be their friend, build trust etc, you obviously wouldn't wanna hurt them as they are your only hope. This person is also a 5 year old child, lost just like you. Makes sense not to hurt them, right?). The problem is that Amanda was already traumatized and had trust issues, so forgiving Wooly wasn't all that easy, and so instead of her best friend he is now something to lash out on. He is noticeably trying to fix whatever it is that he did (almost never complains to Amanda, follows her orders and helps her, ignores her mistakes including her literal attempted murder on him, etc). That's exactly how you act when you wanna desperately fix something, you do everything they want you to and let them do anything to you, and think "maybe pleasuring them will fix this", which didn't work with Amanda. They do still have some happy and wholesome moments together which probably show how they both do want those old times back, but what's done is done.
Onto them now, after it all happened. They have complete opposite views of eachother.
Amanda sees Wooly as a nuisance. Someone who's there to bother her, annoy her, someone she just wants gone. Nothing but someone to lash out on to her. Every chance she gets, she puts him down in some way, constantly hurts him... She also makes some jokes about wanting him dead ("Hmm.. Maybe i should get him to come back") and after his death ("Haha, yeah! If you can find him~"). No empathy towards him, EVER. Also, she finds being scared of him an extremely hilarious concept. He's just a joke to her. Basically, pure hatred with an occasional "fine, you're not that bad".
Wooly on the other hand views Amanda as his best friend, someone he can trust.. Just a good person in general, even though she has done nothing but hurt him. He relies on trying to understand her instead of judging her ("I understand, Amanda"), wants to help her, follows her around even though he doesn't have to be there nor does Amanda want him to be there, he is too trusting to her (taking the obviously suspicious drink before she drvgs him).. Just continues on with her like nothing ever happened, like they're still best friends. Could be his way of coping along with trying to fix his mistake. He even focuses more on Amanda's well-being than his own (when in the LITERAL BUTCHERS SHOP, he looks way more worried about Amanda and doesn't even mention himself, also constantly warning Amanda about dangerous stuff and not actually being worried about his own safety). Whenever he gets angry, he immediately regrets it. When Amanda is sad, normally it's either he's also sad or trying to comfort her, he has both alot of sympathy and empathy for Amanda despite everything. (Btw a little opinion/theory of mine is that Wooly is jealous of Riley because of their relationship with Amanda - Riley makes a mistake, they are forgiven. Wooly is blamed. Riley makes Amanda happy, they are thanked and appreciated, but Wooly can never seem to do it. In the story tape, he might just be mad because he's jealous of Riley, they helped again while he tried but nothing worked.)
Also they need eachother whether they like if or not. Humans will go insane without human contact and eachother is all they have, so even though it makes them both feel worse, they need eachother. I mean just look at Amanda, she already says she feels very alone and scared, so just imagine how she'd be without Wooly, even though she hates him.
A little about their way of trying to get out or something..? Idk how to say it. But basically, they have different views on what they should do (this is a theory, i guess?)
Amanda thinks that they have a better chance of escaping by telling everything they can. She tries to tell us what's happening, and when she gets stopped, she uses metaphors. She thinks that the more they say, the higher the chances of them getting out. She doesn't think about the consequences that might cause (she often does and talks without thinking about the consequences, as shown in the tape where she sends Kate a gift).
Wooly's view is that they have to say the least they can, or else something will happen. He thinks they're still being watched, there will be huge consequences to them saying what's happening, speaking up, so he tries to keep quiet. He's probably right, as they do get stopped and hurt when they try to say something anyways (Amanda flinches at the static and is forced to not say whatever she wanted to). So instead he just waits for something to happen.
With these they go against eachother, which causes them to fight.. Again.
Here's some extra thingies/details about them ☆
⤷ they both share a fear of the butcher
⤷ in ATA2, Wooly gets super defensive and flinches alot more compared to ATA1 even when Amanda doesn't necessarily mean to hurt him or is even being playful, as a result from Amanda attempting to end him
⤷ they both fear the dark (implied for Wooly)
⤷ when Wooly starts speaking, sometimes Amanda seems interested i what he's going to say, thinking he might have a good idea. She quickly gets disappointed though
⤷ if you choose to help Amanda in the hospital tape, Wooly will try to grab her arm before blacking out :(
⤷ when the entity appears, Wooly gets kinda.. "Shut down"? I'm assuming by Amanda since she can control him. I wonder why she doesn't let him see her entity...
(I also forgot to mention that Amanda can "delete" Wooly whenever she wants, yet he's still there and she doesn't do much about it.. Infact, even when he's very annoying, she rarely uses her ability to make him go away. Hmm..)
There are probably things i forgot to say since i know alot and i always forget to write something in the end.. Eh, whatever. Bye !!!
