productive day today. worked cherry - had a nice flat ride. surprised i actually really enjoyed it. did work at home on the farm - just week trough refills, hay nets, mucking out, carting hay etc. spent some time with the girls at hommeee. i'm sobbing over this video of my two girls living on each other brb

i haven't posted in 4 months :o

however - i think on the days i don't feel like journaling blogging on tumblr seems like a nice alternative. i honestly write with the intention of no one reading besides myself so bare with me if you actually do try to read my posts here on out :p

anyways...

so a lot had happened! i'll do a short summary.

june:

got a bad kidney infection, ended up in emergency. did another 40km ride in severe weather (50mls of rain and -0 temps) was also my partner and i's first time at a ride solo! fucked my knee up that ride falling over and getting dragged.

july:

took cherry to a dressage clinic, thoroughly enjoyed. cherry was a star student, coach adored her. finally confronted my "friend" who had been using me. went as well as i expected it to go. had a few bad rides. lost my confidence. went and saw tyler the creator w my little brother, stayed in perth for the night and was a lil peak of independence for my brother. went and did another 40km successfully. most beautiful ride. camped with my partner and dad / was an amazing weekend.

august:

met up w internet friend for a ride in the forrest - enjoyed it despite not sleeping at all the night before. my partner put an offer in on our dream block. offer was accepted!!!! mum had knee replacement surgery. didn't go well. was in hospital / icu for 2 weeks. mum came home towards the end. i go and pick up my new horse, a mare ive been interested in for a while - her owners circumstances changed. welcome dior - "deedee".

september:

ya know we are only 16 days into it so... but cherry had her saddle fitted, dee has settled in well at home, and i had a flare the first week of september so still feels like im playing catch up.

now that i've word dumped my entire 4 months of existence, i'll start back daily blogging? maybbbeeee? if i remember

so much has happened in a month since i last posted here.

muscle biopsy results came back. my disease is likely fatal and progressive. which i already knew but it's made my depression and anxiety that much worse.

my pain management has gone to shit. always fatigued or in pain, and i'm struggling to push through it atm. because i know i'll always be in pain and tired so may as well do it anyways.

cherry went on her first proper endurance training ride last week. a steady 12km in the forrest which she was a gem for! love love that pony. the first endurance ride of the season is next weekend which i'm not going to as it's 4hrs drive and chilli has her debut eventing start so will be grooming for her for the weekend which i'm excited for. this week i'll have to get around to clipping her tail, beard, fetlocks and clean out my show kit ready to go. might play around with some quarter markers too haven't decided what to do on her yet. thinking sharks teeth on top of her rump or hunter stripes with squares inside? unsure.

planning on another 10km ride tomorrow with cherry but might go the other direction since it's a sunday and traffic will be busy!

anyways here's a couple pictures from cherry and i'd outing. HOPEFULLY we will make it to the next endurance ride on the 2-3rd of april. with the aim being a 40km in september at states. i'm contemplating hitting up a few companies and off the track to sponsor me for a season but we'll see.

a 10km ride done last thursday last week - she was a super kid! crossed bridges and dealt with lots of traffic.

have only ridden once this week due to a pulled tooth (my tooth) but hoping to ride today despite the wind!!

a nice 10km loop on saturday when it was a bit cooler. the weather is in the 40's each day atm and my illness is not coping at all so pausing riding for a bit. cherry had her shoes put on yesterday so will hopefully get out to ride thursday morning early around 5am.

i definitely usually prefer riding in the morning to get it done and out of the way but i've got a terrible sleep pattern atm so have opted for a couple evening rides. the sunsets are always my favourite part.

debating entering the off the track show next month.. i haven't had the best experience with the comitee running it however it's been almsot 3 years i believe since i last competed with them so will be interesting to give it another go and see what they are like. half expecting them to turn away my entry but if they do, i'll be sure to put my best karen face on.

they have 2 prep dressage tests, the A and C which Cherry will do no worries. her canter isn't yet established enough to do prelim which is great for me, means i can have a season just doing prep with no pressure to move her up as there was when i was eventing. the plan is for penny to also drop to prep dressage tests and get her out to a couple locals ones with season.

they also have a working hunter section with poles to 30cm i believe so Cherry also would be completely fine to do that i assume, although i've actually never jumped her so would be interesting to see how that pans out.

honestly the main reason i want to compete is so i can wear my shoe jacket that i'm absolutely obsessed with. i absolutely hate being judged by other people and the whole community really especially as someone that's disabled, but i want to go out and compete just for me.

probably the 3rd? flat work ride on ms cherry. she's fairly well schooled on the flat (besides the canter being a standardbred) but super happy with her yesterday! (it's 1am now so yesterday seems weird to say)

booked her in to have a chiropractic adjustment tomorrow which i'm super interested to see how she feels. we have an issue of pigrooting into the canter if i don't hold her back through corners so i'm curious to know wether it's a pain issue or possibly saddle fit. she gets her saddles fitted in a couples weeks anyways.

ms cherry got spoilt over christmas 🤍 we have a new archer pad on the way (just a plain black one for training), zilco endurance bridle which will make strapping so much easier, and finally a breastplate to make sure her saddle stays out when we head up the hills. it's been far too hot to start training which has been frustrating but heatwave dips the end of the week i believe
