Moments before the final battle between Boruto and Kawaki - Kawaki asking for Sarada's forgiveness. BoruSara #idiots in love
HELLOOO everyone! I've been quite busy these last few months and I can't tell you how much I've missed writing! Hope you like this one, I really loved putting it together 😁😁
P.S. The title was inspired by this scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Having finally calmed his breathing, Boruto raised his head to see Kawaki looking at him from above.
It was a look of distant sorrow, and a very present determination.
With the knowledge that it would be over soon, a weight he had been carrying for years now left his soul, and filled it with a new dread.
He got up and dusted off his clothes and hands, glancing one more time around the battlefield, subconsciously stalling the inevitable.
Kawaki, already at his feet and looking perfectly clean, raised an eyebrow in an impatient manner. Boruto nodded in agreement. Now.
He frowned in confusion when Kawaki's eyes left him abruptly and drifted to something behind his back, when he felt Sarada's presence at his side. Her eyes were fixed on Kawaki, and to Boruto's shock, Kawaki's expression ever so slightly softened.
He didn't know how the rest of them felt at that brief moment of crazy hope, but his own heart had nearly stopped.
"Forgive me," Kawaki said quietly, as if he might choke on his own words if he spoke just a bit louder.
Forgive me for turning against you, forgive me, for I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't believe it was the right thing to do.
A painfully long heartbeat passed before Sarada responded with a calm and simple, "I forgive you."
She stepped toward him. "And I ask that you forgive me as well."
Kawaki nodded once, and with that, any look of sorrow was gone from his face. There was no changing his mind.
Boruto clenched his jaw, suppressing a wave of disappointment. He had already known it was going to be this way, known that Kawaki wasn't going to let go just like that, not after everything. It had to be solved, and it had to be solved now.
Whether out of need for reassurance or something else entirely, he looked at Sarada over his shoulder.
For a second it seemed like she would let him go without saying anything. Before he had time to process what she was going to do, Sarada swiftly closed the space between them, rising to her toes, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Boruto blinked in surprise, but relaxed instantly, putting his hands on her back and drawing her closer.
He allowed himself to close his eyes for a moment, feeling strangely at peace as he focused on the rhythmic thud of her heartbeat.
"Remember who you are and what you're fighting for," she whispered, slightly breathless and shivering as she pulled away just enough to touch his forehead with hers.
Her hand slid to his chest to clutch the front of his shirt, almost as if she was fighting the urge to spread her palm and feel his heart.
"And keep in mind that there are people waiting for you here."
In that moment of not knowing if he'd return alive or not, all Boruto could think about was that he desperately wanted to feel this again, her body's warmth against his, her arms holding him. Her.
He lowered his face, brushing his nose against hers, lips close enough to kiss her if she would only raise her head.
Sarada looked at him with those eyes black as the darkest night, knowing what he wanted, what he felt, and didn't pull away. Her grip on him tightened, but she didn't kiss him.
A voiceless plea for his return.
"I am not above killing you from behind, if that's how you'd prefer it," said Kawaki, his voice rising.
Boruto sighed, releasing her reluctantly.
He turned toward Kawaki. "Where's the fun in that?" he asked lightly, as it were not his life they were talking about.
They were gone in a blink of an eye, and Sarada could do nothing but watch after them. A sense of foreboding had taken a place in her heart and she touched the screw necklace Boruto gave her, praying that they would, indeed, come back alive.

Only Friends—Part II
Weeks had gone by since the incident last occurred. Boruto couldn’t look at Sarada in the eye, even if he tried. Sarada just ended up avoiding him in general.
“Something strange is going on…” Mitsuki pondered, unaware of his current surroundings.
When it came to his teammates, he travels to the very core of his mind analyzing all aspects, behaviors, and remarks in order to figure them out.
Between the two of them, he should be named their official couple’s therapist.
“You sense it too, don’t you?” Cho-Cho Akamichi suddenly appeared next to him.
“Where did you come from!?” Mitsuki asked, amused. Just the person to talk to in this kind of situation.
“I saw you staggering down the street, I was worried. You looked drunk.” She smirked, a teasing flicker glistening in her eyes.
“I see…Just lost in thought, that’s all.” He beckoned her to follow him into Thunder Burger.
After taking their orders and seating themselves, Mitsuki went straight to the point.
“Boruto and Sarada. They’ve distanced themselves from each other.”
“Yeah—mhm. Oh my gosh this burger is so good.” Cho-Cho’s mouth was basically watering. It really seemed like she was in love with food more than she was with boys at times like this.
“Cho-Cho focus! You can eat afterwards. This is serious.” Mitsuki rubbed his temples wearily.
“Ok, ok,” she took one more bite at her burger, “You are totally right. Like, the other day when Sarada and I were shopping at Ichiban plaza, we spotted the two of you at a dango stand.”
“I know I saw.” Mitsuki interrupted, “Sorry, continue talking.”
Cho-Cho glared at him, taking a bite of her fry in spite. She hated to be interrupted.
“Right. Anywho, I was going to walk over and hi, but Sarada pulled me back looking all panicked.”
She took a long sip of cola before she started talking again.
“And? Then what happ—”
“She said she wanted to check out the make-up stand on the other side of the plaza.” Suddenly, Cho-Cho slammed her hands on the table, taking Mitsuki aback a little.
“Mitsuki..” her face mysteriously darkened.
“Y-yes?” He smiled nervously.
“DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH SARADA HATES MAKE-UP!!? WHY THE HELL WOULD SHE WANT TO SHOP FOR THAT NOW!? THAT IS NOT THE SARADA I KNOW!” Cho-Cho screeched.
Glaring eyes turning to stare at them. A four-year old started to cry. His mother flounced over to the counter. A Karen, definitely ready to file a complaint to the manager.
“Cho-Cho…” Mitsuki spoke softly, his eyes sincere. He grabbed both her hands, sitting her back down, “I know exactly how you feel. But this is a public restaurant and we need to use our inside voices.”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” Cho-Cho scowled. She munched on her burger, obviously flustered. Mitsuki just stared amused, unexpectedly he broke into an uncontrollable series of weird pitched laughter.
“S-stop! Ok, back to the conversation you cackling hyena.”
Regaining his composure, after a good long sip of his cola, Mitsuki’s serious nature returned.
“I would like to think they argued, but arguments happen all the time, and it’s usually resolved within 24 hours at max. It’s something more serious.” He glanced at the counter where the Karen was standing.
They don’t have a lot of time to chat. It was only a matter of time before the manager came over to their table to kick them out.
“I think I know what’s up. But it’s only a suspicion…” Cho-Cho licked the salt off her fingers as she finished the last few crumbs off her plate.
“I think…” Cho-Cho’s lips curled mischievously, “Boruto confessed.”
“He did not.”
“How do you know!?” Cho-Cho stared at him blankly.
“Because he would tell me. I know he would.” Mitsuki crossed his arms defiantly. “How do you know Sarada isn’t the one who confessed?”
“Because she would tell me!” Cho-cho gritted her teeth.
“U-um. Hi guys..?”
Mitsuki and Cho-Cho turned their heads to see both Boruto and Sarada standing next to each other, but still at a distance. Something was off, but they both seemed to mask it well.
“Oh hi you two! Come sit—” Cho-Cho motioned.
“Uh, no we should go,” Mitsuki motioned his head towards an angry looking manager.
“What happened?” Sarada stared amused.
“Cho-Cho happened,” Mitsuki sneered, “but you two are welcome to take our seats.”
“Uh, no I’m good. I was just looking for you Mitsuki.” Boruto said rather nonchalantly, although if listened closely, there was a hint of urgency in his voice.
“I was looking for you too Cho-Cho.” Sarada tugged on her arm, walking towards the exit.
“B-but—”
“Come on! Look a make-up store! Let goooo”
With that, the girls disappeared into the crowd ruching through the plaza.
Boruto’s eyes followed them until he could see them no more.
“Sarada and make-up? That’s…new?” He stated, crossing his arms rather awkwardly.
“Girls, am I right?” Mitsuki smiled whilst internally rolling his eyes all the way to the back of his head.
~***~
That night, Boruto tossed and turned in his sheets. His mind was restless, enduring the worst psychological nightmare that month.
Momoshiki had attached puppet strings to all his limbs. Doing so, he grabbed two katanas, racing throughout the village.
Suddenly, Momoshiki twisted the strings, spinning him uncontrollably until he became a lethal human shurikan.
Left and right, all he could hear were screams and swirling dark colors.
The screams had sounded so familiar too. Someone he knew, but he couldn’t put a finger on it. The same scream echoed and echoed in his ears until they burned with pain.
It was until Boruto leaped out of bed in a cold sweat, he was able to snap out of it.
Then, as if his body had a mind of its own, he grabbed his shoes and leaped out the window, only having one thing in mind.
Sarada.
Before he knew it, he landed on her balcony. The sun was still yet to rise within a few hours, the streets were ghost quiet.
Hesitantly, he lightly knocked on her door.
Almost instantly, the door slid open, revealing a sleep deprived Sarada. Her eyes, however, had suddenly woken with shock when they landed on his.
“Look, I know we’re in a weird situation right now, but I really want to put that on hold because I need you.” He spoke swiftly, his eyes flashed with a sign for help.
She nodded, dragging him inside, closing the door behind her. Cautiously she grabbed his wrist, and pulled him to bed, as she always did when he came to visit her.
“Talk to me.” She whispered. Her eyes already shaped into an anxious mold.
“I…um, u-uh, I-I-I-I” he spoke gibberish. His mind raced fearfully, obviously still on flight or fight mode.
Without a word, Sarada reached over and placed her hand over his neck. She could feel his pulse quicken underneath her fingers.
He was anxious, very anxious.
Her fingers rubbed the back of his neck, nurturing him back to tranquility.
“Talk to me when you’re ready.” She quietly intoned.
“It was a dream. A horrible dream. It felt real. I-I think you were there…” he suddenly blurted.
Sarada’s eyebrows knitted into a worried expression. She hated seeing him like this. She would do anything to take away his pain. Anything.
“I’m here now. I’m not going anywhere. That nightmare, it’s fake. Look,” she linked her fingers with his, “I’m real. I’m here. With you.” She smiled.
“I know…” he gave her small smile, “and you’re too important to me to lose.” His voice suddenly trailed off.
“Boruto…”
He lightly kissed her fingers, giving her a look she couldn’t recognize.
“Ever since I kissed you, held you tight, I’ve been having horrible nightmares that revolved around you.” He admitted.
“I think,” he continued, “to Momoshiki…you’re his target. The perfect target.” His tone throaty and defeated.
“But I’m his target, because he knows we can take him, together.” She added, cupping his face in her hands.
“Huh?”
“Don’t you see Boruto? We’re stronger together. Unbeatable even. Momoshiki sees that, heck everyone see that—he fears our strength.”
“How can you be so sure Sarada?”
“Because,” she smiled, “love overrules fear.”
“Love…?” He blinked.
She blushed, sitting up, startled with her words. She was so deep into the conversation she wasn’t careful with her choice of words.
But she meant it all, truly.
He sat up to look at her, curious and flushed himself.
What happened next was something Sarada was not prepared for. She was pulled onto his strong embrace. She could feel his face bury into her long, raven hair.
They sat like that for what felt like forever. Blissful, peaceful silence. Not once voice haunted his mind.
“I love you too, you know.” His voice muffled, but his words clear as day.

Only Friends—Part I
Description: Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki struggle to communicate unsaid feelings in times of distress and early stages of teenage years.
“Sarada! Come hang out with me!” Himawari squealed, dragging Sarada out the hallway and up the stairs.
The Uchihas’ had come over to dine with the Uzumakis’ that evening. A habit they’ve all picked up for the past year every Saturday night.
“Hey! I thought we were all going to play a board game together?” Boruto called out, Kawaki nodding in agreement.
“Later! After dinner. I want girl time with Sarada.” Himawari replied, eagerness visibly bouncing in her tone.
“Alright, just be down in five minutes.” Hinata smiled as she beckoned Sakura to follow her into the kitchen, leaving Boruto and Kawaki lone wolves with nothing to do.
Before Boruto can say a word, kawaki started to put on his shoes, eyes swollen and tired.
Last night, he had come home with a mysterious bruise on his arm. No matter how many times the siblings urged him to explain himself, Kawaki kept his reservations.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Boruto huffed, exasperated. He could already feel the tension impending in the air. The common “none of your business” was sure to be spat.
“I’m going to get Taiyaki. You want some?” He answered in a surprisingly civilized manner.
“I’m good. Just be back in time for dinner.”
“Alright.” He nodded, making his way out the door.
“Oh, and if you see Dad,” Boruto started making his way up the stairs, “tell him to get his ass home for dinner.”
Bored out of his mind, Boruto walked towards his room in a vexed manner. Unintentionally, he caught a wisp of the girl’s conversation leaking out beneath the creak of his sister’s bedroom.
“I just…I want to see him smile again.”
That was Hima’s voice.
As if his body suddenly had a mind of its own, Boruto, leaned silently next to the door frame, careful not to let his shadow betray him.
“I know. He’s going through a lot right now.” Sarada’s voice soothed, he could imagine her rubbing Hima’s back, as she always did in times of dismal manner.
“But something you must always keep in mind,” she continued, “is that your brother is the most courageous and selfless person I know.”
Listening closely, he can hear Himawari’s small sniffles muffled against her arms. He had no ideas how much his pain was directed onto his younger sister. It was the last thing he wanted.
“And with selflessness, comes a price.” Sarada’s tone suddenly dropped to what was now throaty and perhaps, if listened carefully, shaky.
“With the kindness that overflows his heart, he thinks nothing of his well-being and only has the image of the people he truly treasures in time of immediate action.”
Boruto stiffened, biting his bottom lip anxiously.
“B-but, it costed him his heart.” Himawari sniffed, “literally. His heart was punctured.”
“I know, I know.” Sarada’s voice allayed.
A couple of moments of silence distilled in the air. Although he stood motionless, Boruto’s mind rang boisterously. Different voices buzzing through his fearful mind all at once.
He loved his little sister. He wished nothing but the best for her, to keep her out of danger and vulnerable in certain situations.
He knew it was out of his control to keep her from the sad truth of reality.
But hearing Sarada’s words…it drove a sharp pain of uncomfortable emotions to his chest.
Emotions of all sorts. Sadness, for making everyone worry. Irritation, for the turn of events life has given him. Anger, for what he’s become. Fear, of the future and the people around him. Gratitude, for her choice of words.
She knew him too well. He knew that. They’ve been together for too long. He loved her too, no matter how many times he’s tried to deny it or suppress it.
Selflessness comes with a price?
No, love comes with a price, more costly than anything else, guaranteed.
“Hima…don’t worry. Don’t worry at all, ok?” Sarada’s voice rang once more, with a sudden wave of hope.
“Hm?”
“I’ll protect him. He’s under my care. He doesn’t have to know that of course, but I’ll make sure that idiot doesn’t do anything impulsive.” Just listening to her, he could hear the warm smile in her tone.
“Thank you…Sarada.” Himawari’s gloom seems to lighten. Noise shifting in the room, he could guess they were in a warm embrace.
“Of course.” She chucked.
Feeling disoriented with thoughts, feelings and emotions, Boruto staggered away from Himawari’s bedroom door, walking with no sense of direction or control.
“Dinner’s ready kids!” Sakura’s voice rang from downstairs.
~***~
Kawaki came home late, but with a good reason. Well, two good reasons.
With Kawaki came both Naruto and Sauske.
Surprised and elated, the dinner table buzzed with three different conversations shooting back/to-back across the table.
The only one who ate in silence, was none other than Boruto.
Sarada, of course, caught on quickly, giving him a light tap on the foot from underneath the table. He gave her a quick glance, giving her a small smile to put her at ease, but she knew better than to trust his small smiles.
After everyone finished, the adults retreated to the patio with a couple of drinks, Himawari dragged Kawaki into the living room to set up their board game, and Sarada and Boruto were left to clean the dishes.
Silently gathering up dishes and dirty napkins, Sarada stared at her staid childhood friend.
Once a lively and outspoken boy, now stood a conservative and quiet teenager in his place.
“You heard us, didn’t you?” Sarada stared him down, giving him no choice of escape.
He looked at her apologetically, and somewhat amused. She was an excellent ninja if she was able to sense his presence from just outside the doorway.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” He gave her a nervous smile, his eyes panicked.
They stared at each other, unknowing what to say. She leaned on the other end of the counter, distanced from him. Boruto sighed, wiping his hands on a rag, making sure the remaining dish soap was off his light tan skin. He walked towards her, braving himself to face her.
“Did you mean it…?” His voice weary.
“Huh?”
“You told my little sister that you would look after me?” His eyes lowered towards the ground.
“O-of course I did,” her face suddenly flustered, “Don’t think you can get rid of me that easily! I’m staying by your side and that’s that.” She huffed, crossing her arms in finality.
“I’m not, Sarada. You’re the most obstinate person I know. There’s nothing I can do to change your mind once it’s set on something.” His tone became flat, giving Sarada anxious tingles.
He cautiously grabbed a hold of her arms, staring into her widened eyes.
“But I was supposed to protect you…that was the promise I made whether you become Hokage or not!” His throat burning, on the verge of shameful tears. Nevertheless, he held it in, as he always did.
“Boruto Uzumaki,” her glare turned into eyes of anger, “do you think I ever want to see you on the TV news headlines stating ‘Hokage’s son on the verge of death after unfortunate accident’ !?”
He held his breath in, his grip on her arms tightened.
“Do you think, I ever want to rush into the hospital, arguing with my mother to let me in the surgery room to come see you!?”
Tears poured out of her eyes like a flowing river. Underneath his touch, Boruto could feel her shiver, as her face crumpled up in deep anguish.
“Sarada…” he took her glasses off carefully, both his hands cupped around her face, wiping her burning tears. She fell still under his warm touch.
“I-I was s-scared. I-I thought I’d n-n-never see you a-again.” She mumbled.
“Shhh,” he soothed, “I’m here now. It’s ok, look at me, I’m here ok?” He brushed a couple strands of loose hair behind her ear.
She nodded, holding tightly onto the side of his arms.
“Thank you, for being there for Himawari.” He gave her a true genuine smile.
“I love her, she’s like a little sister to me. I love your family Boruto. I love your mother, she always looked after me since we were kids. I love your Dad, he’s cares so much about the village, I’ve never seen anyone with such kindness. I love Kawaki too, he’s an asshole sometimes, but there’s good nature in him. And I love y— ”
She froze. Words itching to get out of her throat, but stayed stuck.
He stared at her with widened eyes. An uncomfortable wave of heat radiated from the two, enough to put them in a sweat.
With no warning, he leaned his head forward, moving dangerously close to her lips. His nose lightly brushed against hers. She leaned back a bit against the cold kitchen counter, feeling overwhelmed with shock.
A moment of hesitation struck, as he met her eyes for a sign of consent.
She closed her eyes in surrender. The press of his lips against hers sent spirals of shock throughout their bodies, giving them both a kick of adrenaline.
One kiss turned into multiple kisses, but none were rapid or messy. They took their time, despite the fear Boruto had in the back of his mind of Sauske coming up behind him at any moment.
Sarada’s hands clenched to the back of his shirt, to keep something tangible in her grasp, preventing her mind from tricking her that this warm, safe feeling was all some sort of dream.
It was real. It was really real. She could feel a fistful of his shirt clenched in her hands, the warmth radiating off his face and onto hers, his thumbs caressing her face tenderly.
It was only two minutes, breaking away from each other breathless and amazed. They stared at each other speechless, until Boruto came up with a witty remark.
“Geez, you’re face is red.”
“Shut up.”
She reconnected her lips to him, catching him by surprise, a muffled gasp that never escaped. She wrapped her arms around his neck, his arms wrapped around her waist.
Sarada leaned further against the counter, aching her lower back, but the kiss on her lips distracted her from the pain. The fast beating of his bismerched heart beat only delighted her more.
Suddenly the sound of something crashing onto the floor, startled the two, quickly ripping away from each other at once.
It was Himawari, board pieces rolled all across the floor.
Speechless, all three of them stared at one another. Boruto and Sarada were both u sure how to tackle the situation. Everything happened all so fast, what were they to say?
“U-um…I’m going to go water the cat. Ok bye!” She raced out the room, leaving the teens stranded in the awkward atmosphere.
“Crap.” Boruto and Sarada hissed in unison. Unsaid feelings and questions were still floating all over the place, all yet to be resolved.
To be continued…

So About Sakura...
I was was watching Naruto Shippuden for the 193637290 time, and notice somethings on Sakura. We all know Kishimoto does not write female characters well, and knows how to ruins a pretty good character. That was analised by many professionals, all though thing are much better on Boruto Series.
Tumblr media
But let's go back to the focus on Sakura. Mostly her Family.
During the movie, that I don't know if it's events are cannon os OVA, Infinity Tsukuyomi Dream, after the fight with the Akatsuki every parent is being kind to their kid. Recomendation's letters are mentioned by Ino's parent and everything.
Them we cut to Sakura. Look at her expression, she knows everyone is watching them... She knows what they are doing.
Tumblr media
Sakura's mother enjoys hurting her own daughter feelings, here was some sings of it since the classic, those who have a narcissist mom will understand. Part of her problems with her mom is probably due to the fact that she keeps her head up no matter what she says.
Tumblr media
Later you she that her mom is still on the same page, in front of the other she was "acting funny" so Sakura looks like she is "overreacting" but her face at the acene Sakura is leaving you notice she has more agressive face details.
So now this part...
Tumblr media
Naruto was in a bad place on that moment, all those families together made him fell more lonely. Sakura complaning about her family to him sounded selfish even cruel.
Them she says: "If Sasuke was here he would understand me"
The point is that, they actually made research on Sasuke's life to try to find him. She know Sasuke's father was strict, that he had a favorite son, Itachi (a pressious man that should have been protected at all costs), so that is why she thinks/hope he would understand her.
Tumblr media
Because, even though Sasuke's father asked to keep him safe, he never showed proud like he did for Itachi. Sakura is an only child, that has parents that never showed proud on her at all.
Ino even laughs at how Sakura's mother is making her fell, what a great friend...
Now back to the the coments "at least she has a mother" type, some people are shitty parents and leave emotional scars on their kids, our generation should and NEEDS to be more aware of that. Sakura became a kunoichi on her on, no family guide. Her mother never expected her daughter to be bigger them her as a ninja that is why she became more rude. On her childhood memories her parents are kind of superficial but normal parents, on the classic her mother is "just a little bit to strict", on Shippuden her mother is on role another level.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was sort off proud with her gennin daughter, until Sakura was more them she was. She poses to a perfect picture with her Chunnin daughter, only to embarass her in front of everyone in a way that would look like, "Sakura can't take a joke". But notice, Sakura is the only one not smiling in the picture but the picture of her alone there was a big smile.
Sakura dosen't have a secret rough background, she has a secret rough present, one that no one would believe it's true even when she tells to one of her best friends.
Tumblr media
At "Boruto Series" you see Sakura and Sasuke being proud of every single thing Sarada accomplishes, because they broke a cycle of constant criticism.
Thanks for coming to my TEDTalks.

All roads lead to you. —BoruSara.
Hello, it's been years since i wrote anything borusara related but i've been in the mood lately and wanted to get this out of my system. Enjoy my small drabble and i may write more in the future. ♥️
Boruto and Sarada had a silent agreement.
No cheesy love confesions, no big romantic scenes were needed between them, their bond slowly developed through the years from childhood friends to rivals to teammates, they basically trusted each other with their lives. Just one look was enough to understand what the other was saying or feeling, that's how close they were.
Hence why they never needed all the fireworks and flying to the moon to know their hearts were one. Besides, they were fighting literal gods and avoiding death and destruction since they were 13, the day didn't have enough hours to spare sometime and go on a date like any other people in love do, so they realized about the depth of their feelings at a very slow pace.
They've been together since babies, both very used to each presence as they were used to see the sun in the sky everyday.
People may wonder when everything changed, that's an easy answer, Boruto could say, after the Momoshiki invasion, when he realized his life goal was to support Sarada as a Hokage and protect her. Of course, he wanted to be like Sasuke, a free spirit roaming around but always helping the village on his own way, however, that would be meaningless if the person in charge wasn't Sarada.
He has witnessed her determination to achieve her goals, all her efforts and late night training sessions just because she felt she didn't give her 100% that day. She has helped him too, as a shoulder to lean on, someone to put him back on track if he got distracted.
He knew Sarada wanted him to be the best version of himself and that's why she called him out whenever he acted reckless, and although they often fought because of that, he knew it was coming from worry.
He had plenty of time to think about what Sarada meant to him the years they were separated, when Boruto left to train and control the new powers he had, but honestly, there wasn't much thinking needed when she was always his priority, heck, 13 year old Boruto knew he wanted to be with her as her support but it took him to be apart and miss her to understand he just didn't want to be a right hand man because she was her teammate and closest friend.
When he thought about his future all he could see was seeing Sarada everyday and bringing her lunch to the Hokage office because he would be damned if he allowed her to develop the same unhealthy habits of his old man, no sir, he was ready to prepare lunch for her everyday and make sure she rested well and was happy. You see, it is not normal to have these thoughts for your just friend, even if he was Mr. Oblivious he wasn't stupid.
Love is not an easy topic and he thought he should be more scared and worried about falling for her best friend, but that wasn't the case.
Falling in love with Sarada felt right, natural, as if it was always meant to be and he wouldn't want to fall for anyone else. A small voice in his head asked the important question "what if she doesn't love me back?", Boruto decided to brush it off and just wait to meet her again.
All those worries went away the moment he laid his eyes on her at the village gates. She waited for him all those years holding in her hand the small bolt necklace he gave her as a promise to see each other again, and the look she gave him was what gave her away. Midnight eyes full of sparkling stars and longing, but the only thing she said was "Welcome home".
He nodded and closed the distance between them with a warm hug whispering on her ear "I'm home now". It was crystal clear, the beating of their hearts matched as much as their souls.
Boruto's POV is so fun to write, lots of Sarada in that blondish head. Should i write my vision of Sarada's pov next? We'll see.

Sasuke has always believed in Sakura's potential and capabilities.
(Though of course, when they were kids and she was his fangirl, he expressed annoyance at her wasting her time for vanity instead of training—not a doubt of her potential, exactly, but a doubt on her motivations as a ninja. She was top of their class in the theoretical subjects, after all.)
He'd always seen it, even though he tried not to show it so Sakura wouldn't get her hopes up. He was an avenger after all.

They were apart for years and he had last seen her before she was a medic nin and Tsunade's student. She had different abilities then, mostly with genjutsu.

But he wasn't shocked by her skills during the war (like Naruto was—who had even been with her months prior and had seen her fight, had even known she had defeated an Akatsuki member with Chiyo). He was probably surprised at what she could do, but not that she could do it. It's like an 'ah, as expected.' Like he'd always known she'd be a powerful kunoichi, he just didn't know in what way she would show it.
And of course, now he can just freely express it, even lowkey bragging about it. 😂

She's strong. And that's just a fact Sasuke had always known. There's no debate.
