COOL REMIX AND FABULOUS DESIGN!!!

(I take this as a canon character😆)

I usually don't get invested in OC x Canon, and this would usually put this on my doodle blog, but I'm already too attached to not share him on main!! If he's going to give me this much brainrot, he must be everyone else's problem, too. <3 These are early concepts, so I apologize for them being kind of messy. Gotta get in the groove for drawing him! ^^"

This is Prince Kentau Ipota Ordona, who's meant to be a love interest for Malon! I thought it would be really funny if Malon got her wish for a prince, and it solved Zelda's problem of evading an arranged marriage simultaneously. >:) He's intended to be TP Link's ancestor, more lore on that below!!

Current ideas for him:

His name is Kentau Ipota Ordona (as mentioned). He's a rather spiritual yet impulsive person, his patron being Malanya.

He's the prince of Ordona, a small village-state off Hyrule that is in a state of decline. He's set to marry Zelda for the expansion of both cities, but while they get along he comes to realize he's not as enthralled by her as he thought he was at first (and she's not remotely interested). He never liked the set expectations of royalty, anyway.

Kentau eventually meets Malon while with Link and Zelda, and both are undoubtedly smitten with one another. Later, in a sudden fit of emotion (brought about by him realizing how much he loves a simpler life), Kentau forsakes the crown of his useless town and tries to live as a commoner for some time. (Though he soon cools off and realizes he can't abandon his responsibility that much).

To expand on my one headcanon of the Kokiri who grow up becoming some of the founders of Ordon, Kentau and Malon eventually re-establish the small state of Ordona among the now-mortal Kokiri when the Lon Lon Ranch expands to multiple locations as Hyrule flourishes.

He and Malon bond over their love for horses, but he teaches her how to take care of ordon goats and expands the family's owned livestock (resulting in the aforementioned land expansion).

He is TP Link's biological grandfather (Could be a few greats depending on how long you think is between OoT and TP, there is no canon answer and the placeholder answers are inconsisrent). I almost gave him a funky hair color, but genetically speaking I'd like it to be possible for TP Link to end up with the hair color he does (even if it's a few generations later).

His design/vibe inspirations:

Prince Haru (Mario anime movie I always forget the name of but loved as a kid)

Prince Richard (LA/TFfWtBT)

Link (obviously) (TP)

Malanya (obviously) (BotW/TotK)

And his name comes from two horse-men of mythology: centaurs and ipotanes. He, Malon, Zelda, and Link can bond over being horse girls!! :)

I was thinking about same thing when Zelda sent her child (Tp link) away to Faron woods. She might’ve also gave away Epona to Rusl and entrusted him to take care for her son as a new father since Hero of time died😢😣😖

Malink or Zelink? Which is better?

I think it's less of a question of which is better, but more which one makes more sense.

This has been a long-standing debate with Zelda fans everywhere. Canonically, Twilight is Time's blood descendant, so he must have married someone. So let's talk about this.

Clearly, I'm not going to make everyone happy with this analysis. It's only my opinion based off of what we already know. Just to be clear, I like both OoT Zelink and Malink. I'm a sucker for both. So let's get started.

First, let's talk about OoT Zelink. To keep it simple, we're only going to talk about the Child Era.

There's not a lot about that. It's the less popular of the two theories in my experience, but that doesn't make it any less valid. Zelda is the only one who stuck by Link's side beside Navi, even though she was disguised as Sheik. When he returned to his child self and came to her, she knew he had clearly been through it, even if she wasn't particularly sure what it was. They had a connection.

Zelda is the only one who knew what he'd been through. She knew about Kokiri Forest and the death of the Great Deku Tree, she knew about his quests to find the Sacred Stones, all of it. Then Ganondorf attacked, and she was forced to flee. Link was imprisoned by the Master Sword until he was old enough to wield it, and their actions allowed him access to the Sacred Realm. For seven years, Zelda hung onto this guilt disguised as Sheik and hiding right underneath of Ganondorf's nose. She waited seven years for him when everyone else was sure that Hyrule was done for.

When it's all over and Link comes back, he has the Ocarina of Time. Zelda has been having dreams about this for as long as she can remember, and now he's really here? She realizes that he's been through more than anyone else has and understands this.

It's unclear what all happens, but in Majora's Mask, they have a moment in the beginning of the game when she entrusts the ocarina to him. He settles Termina's business, reliving days and days and days and stopping the entire moon from falling, then returns to find Hyrule in a state of pre-war. He probably has traveled everywhere trying to find his purpose and can only do so in Hyrule, fighting for his country, because he feels like that's all he can do.

Zelda and Link probably work closely together during the war and the subsequent capture and execution of Ganondorf. They have a profound connection by this point. Maybe he even is prompted to tell her everything that's happened to him when she wasn't there.

However, here's where things get a little fuzzy.

No matter what, if Twilight is Link's descendant, Time would have had to have had children.

If Link and Zelda had children, then that would have made them royalty or illegitimate, if Link and Zelda weren't technically allowed to be together because he's only a knight and she's the princess; nobody knows he's the hero, remember? In either case, Link ends up in the Lost Woods/Faron Woods area and ends up dying with regrets, becoming a stalfos. This leaves Zelda and their children without his protection, which may very well be one of his regrets. My theory is that, knowing that Ganondorf might one day return, Zelda sent her children away (either to farmlands if you consider only the game, or to the village on the desert border if you consider manga canon too) to presumably keep them safe.

What I'm saying is OoT Zelink works pretty well. Link and Zelda have an obvious connection that becomes romantic over time, and eventually (whether it's allowed or not) they have at least one kid that ends up being sent away to keep it safe after Link's untimely death. Maybe in his death, Link follows his descendants and tries to keep them safe, which is why he finds Twilight so easily.

Now for Malink.

Now, Malink works too and I love it, don't get me wrong. But. Link and Malon don't really have as much of a connection. Even in the manga, Malon makes a comment about how she missed her chance with Link because he's talking about Zelda all the time.

My theory for this is that after the events of Majora's Mask, Link returned to Hyrule and became a knight. He and Malon became friends, then something more. He may or may not tell her everything he's been through, solely because he fears it could destroy their relationship because it's a lot to take in. But they bond over their love of horses, and they fall in love without a shadow of a doubt. They get married, and have children, and Link still somehow ends up in the Lost Woods/Faron Woods area dying with those regrets. But, his children don't need to go into hiding. They're just farmers, nothing very conspicuous about that.

And whether you think the manga is canon or not, it works both ways too. If we lean closer to manga, we can say that his descendants wanted to follow in his footsteps and become knights, hence why Twilight comes from a long line of them.

My conclusion here is that both Zelink and Malink both work, they both make sense, and they're both good love stories, although I will be the first to admit that OoT Zelink is a more juicy one with more angst with a semi-happy ending before Link's death.

This gives exceedingly much sense! Cause how else did Link as shade obtain the golden royal armour??? There’s literally NO ONE ELSE who used such a highly valuable equipment! It’s not even obtainable in any game either.

OOT Zelink is possible after Majora's Mask (theory 2024)

We don't really know what happened after MM so everything is possible until Nintendo denies it so here is my theory:

Everyone thinks that the only place Link could go after his trip through Termina is Lon Lon Ranch, but what if not? After all the last memories he had were about Zelda wishing she could meet Link again, she was THE ONLY PERSON who actually waited for him after his trip. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!

So after his trip he goes to Zelda and tells her everything that happened to him, she believes him, in fact she might be the only person who believes him because he believed her when she had her visions of Ganondorf.

Link does not necessarily have to have worked on the ranch, there are many other jobs in castle town, I would like to think that he got a job near the castle so he could continue meeting Zelda.

As the years go by their relationship becomes even closer, unfortunately Zelda has to marry someone else so Link decides to continue his life without her. He meets someone else and they get along well, he decides to rebuild his life and marries that woman (Maybe that's why Nintendo never said with whom he had a child, because it was probably with a random woman we don't even know lmao). He has a daughter (I would like to think he has a girl) and thinks she is the most important thing he has now in his life.

Zelda does not love her husband but by the laws of nobility she has to give him an heir. Zelda becomes pregnant and although she does not love her husband, she loves her baby. She thinks it is the most important thing she has in her life now.

Link and Zelda rarely communicate because they already have priorities to maintain (each one with their children).

If you notice this is where the lineage of TP Link and TP Zelda is born!

As fate would have it Link's marriage doesn't work out and he gets divorced or she leaves him with his daughter.

The king passes away.

Do you see where I'm going with all this?

Zelda as queen can do whatever she wants now, so she goes to visit Link after so long. They both talk about their lives and realize they still have romantic feelings for each other. Zelda offers Link to be her personal knight and he unhesitatingly accepts, she gives him a special armor (the armor we see in Twilight Princess).

He becomes her prince consort.

However they have no children or maybe they had one but that son never had descendants Take it as you wish!

We don't know how exactly Link died, but everything points to the fact that he died in a war and lost his eye. Maybe he knew he wouldn't survive and that's why he went to the Lost Forest, dying there and regretting not having taught his techniques, so his spirit stays there until the other chosen one arrives to teach him his techniques.

Zelda is widowed again, that's why we see Link's grave in the castle graveyard in Twilight Princess (like why would his grave be in the castle?)

Years go by and both Link's daughter and Zelda's child grow up. Link's daughter decides to leave the castle and make her life elsewhere, she takes Epona with her, playing the song that HER FATHER taught her (because it is not necessary for Link to have married Malon to learn Epona's song)

Zelda's child takes the throne once she dies.

So with this we have the birth of TP Link and TP Zelda many years later. The reason I don't support the Link and Malon theory is because I find many inconsistencies: TP Link is an orphan, he lives in a tree not in the ranch (he doesn't even own it, the ranch belongs to Fado and he is a human) Link is the only Hylian in Ordon. It's probably that Jaggle or Pergie are descendants of Malon bc their sons are named Malo and Talo (probably she married a human knight or probably Nintendo just put those names bc yes lol)

Also remember Sheik's words? Young love become deep affection Link and Zelda spent time together before Link went on a trip to Termina, I think these words are a reference to them, how much they care about each other ♡
