hey, just saw your '5 things that make you happy' post. i was wondering what upside down pineapple cake was? never heard of it!!

sure, glad you asked! it's basically a yellow cake topped with pineapple and maraschino cherries. the "upside down" part comes from the topping (so the pineapple, cherries, sugar, and butter) being put in the pan first and then topped with the cake batter. then after you bake it, you need to flip the cake "upside down" so the topping is on top

i think my mom usually makes more topping than it calls for (bc it's the best part), and she also uses diced pineapple instead of pineapple rings like a lot of other recipes use (the diced pineapple is more forgiving and you can therefore put on more pineapple lol)

i don't have many pictures of just the whole cake, but here's an old one my mom made for my grandpa's 80th birthday:

Genuinely hilarious to me that while Dick and Bruce are having yet another domestic about the legacy of Batman, Dick’s need for independence, and Bruce’s piss-poor communication skills

Tim is out in Gotham putting in a SHIFT

This kid is being dragged across the Gotham skyline, tracking down a flying murderer that him and Dick were supposed to be taking down together

i think this is supposed to be reoccurring dreams? but no not really. and if it's really asking about dreams where i'm reacquiring something, "not really" to that as well. i do tend to get really weird dreams when i take naps though

25. fave season and why?

fall!! it has The best weather, i can pull out my favorite clothes (sweaters, cardigans, etc.), the leaves change color and the sound of crunching leaves is a 10/10, plus i do enjoy the spooky season

the fun thing about dick being cast as the prodigal son is that in knightfall/knightquest/knightsend era tim was very much presented as the *dutiful* son. it is tim who is trying to help (and expected to, by alfred, who comes over to tim's house in the middle of the night to get tim to help with the whole back breaking incident) manage bruce during bruce's breakdown era. it is tim who seeks out dick to try and tell him how bad azbats is. it is tim who is left in charge of azbats and maintaining bruce's order in bruce's absence. it is tim who bruce initially holds accountable for failing at this duty (he apologizes an issue later.). and yet unlike the dutiful son in the parable who doesn't understand the inherent joy in the prodigal son returning, tim does.
