Name: Grimfreeze

Death: Mutually mauled by his ex-friend Sweetblossom

Story: Grimfreeze is one of the oldest cats in the Dark Forest, having been born and died during the War-Torn Era, the second major era in Beach Colony history. Grimfreeze was a large, fluffy tom born to Healer Blackfrost and Crafter Whisperbreeze during the War-Torn Era under the leaderships of Star Ravenfeather and Star Sharkfin. When he was born, Grimfreeze was actually named Urchin by his parents. Growing up, he didn’t have many friends, but he did have Sweet. She was a brown, ginger, and white Molly with odd patterning, including white splotches on her neck and tail that looked like thick white stripes. Sweet and Urchin did nearly everything together, and everything was great. Until they were made trainees. Sweet became a healer trainee under his mother, and Urchin was made a hunter trainee under Star Ravenfeather’s ruthless deputy, Sharkfin. Sharkfin was angry, aggressive, and saw Urchin was weak. He always pushed Urchin around, and never let up on him during training. Oftentimes he would return from training much to Sweet and Blackfrost’s dismay. His father however encouraged Sharkfin’s intense training, believing that Sharkfin was pushing his son in the right direction to become an strong warrior. When Star Ravenfeather died and Star Sharkfin became leader, things only got worse. Star Sharkfin pushed him more often than not to the breaking point, forcing him to train with other hunter trainees with his claws out and berating him whenever he collapsed from exhaustion. Urchin was afraid of Star Sharkfin, and always played off the injuries he received. Sweetblossom received her name before him, not only because she had trained as a healer, but also because Star Sharkfin purposely held him back, believing that he wasn’t working hard enough. He was named Grimfreeze at 17 moons old, with Star Sharkfin ripping him of the name his parents had given him at birth. When Sharkfin’s first deputy, Waspstripe, was supposedly killed in an accident, he chose Grimfreeze as her replacement. Because of the fact that Grimfreeze was afraid of Star Sharkfin, he was shaped by his leader into a tool to use against cats who spoke out against how Sharkfin led the Colony. He was vicious, and ruthless towards Wolf Colony, almost instigating several wars. Every single cat who spoke out against Star Sharkfin’s leadership was dealt with by Grimfreeze. Grimfreeze never said no to anything Star Sharkfin ordered of him, including executions. His parents were among the group of 14 who spoke out before his death. The last execution he preformed was at a gathering. Sweetblossom, Grimfreeze’s now ex-friend and Tide Colony’s main healer at the time, had argured with Star Sharkfin the week before the gathering about all the injuries and death his actions were causing, and Star Sharkfin had ordered for her to be made an example of in front of everyone during the gathering. Grimfreeze wish he hadn’t followed any of Star Sharkfin’s orders, but at that point it was already too late. He did as he was told, and attacked Sweetblossom during the gathering. Their fight was brutal, and blood splattered all across the ground and any cat if they got too close. Sweetblossom collapsed first, dead as soon as she hit the ground. Sweetblossom, his best friend, the cat he grew up with, dead. He collapsed shortly after and was dead by the time Sweetblossom’s trainee had carried him halfway to camp. Every cat who died at his claws stood trial against him, their pelts golden like the sun’s rays and littered with stars, while his turned black with death. He was sentenced to the Dark Forest, left to roam the dark, twisted, and yet beautiful landscape.

Land Mar: The Blood Bath - as Land Mar within a Land Mar, it’s a large pool of blood in the center of a dark and twisted version of the Beach Colonies’ gathering place, the Red Beech, as a part of Star Wolfhowl’s own Land Mar.

Welcome

Hello there! Welcome to the Dark Forest. I am @shockwave-the-dog and this is an extension of my blog @clans-of-the-shells-and-fish which is purely for the stories of the Dark Forest cats in my wc au project, the Beach Colonies! There are three colonies, but you will only be seeing cats from Wolf Colony and Tide Colony. Shell Colony is relatively new to the territory of the Beach Colonies, only being a few years old, so they have not had any cats go there yet.

My designs for Dark Forest cats and the Dark Forest itself are actually based on the gorgeous Poison Flowers Ivypool map over on YouTube! Currently it’s a work in progress so I greatly suggest watching the Map call and all the currently finished parts. The main differences between my designs and the map designs, other than me being a different artist, is the fact that they all have one set color and usually their markings are based on their death, so for example: Star Juniperclaw of Wolf Colony was thrown from a cliff by his daughter Star Rosethorn (the current Wolf Colony leader) to stop a war, resulting in his markings matching the vague heart shape of rose petals.

This is heavily inspired by @residents-of-the-darkforest and their lovely work! Their blog inspired me to make this blog, so go check out their work too!
